The Door Of Humility
ENGLAND
We lead the blind by voice and hand,
And not by light they cannot see;
We are not framed to understand
The How and Why of such as He;
But natured only to rejoice
At every sound or sign of hope,
And, guided by the still small voice,
In patience through the darkness grope;
Until our finer sense expands,
And we exchange for holier sight
The earthly help of voice and hands,
And in His light behold the Light.
I
Let there be Light! The self-same Power
That out of formless dark and void

Orlando Furioso Canto 18
ARGUMENT
Gryphon is venged. Sir Mandricardo goes
In search of Argier's king. Charles wins the fight.
Marphisa Norandino's men o'erthrows.
Due pains Martano's cowardice requite.
A favouring wind Marphisa's gallery blows,
For France with Gryphon bound and many a knight.
The field Medoro and Cloridano tread,
And find their monarch Dardinello dead.
I
High minded lord! your actions evermore
I have with reason lauded, and still laud;
Though I with style inapt, and rustic lore,
You of large portion of your praise defraud:
But, of your many virtues, one before
All others I with heart and tongue applaud,
- That, if each man a gracious audience finds,
No easy faith your equal judgment blinds.

Stone by Stone
I built this wall around my heart
and stone by stone it falls apart
I built this wall to keep you out
the pain, the loss, and all the doubt
I built this wall around my heart
and stone by stone it falls apart
brick by brick it is destroyed
tear by tear i realize
but, I built this wall to keep you out
and stone by stone it fell apart
all the pain, the loss, the doubt
goodbye to that wall around my heart
for stone by stone it fell apart.

A White, Blank Wall
I don’t talk
I sit and stare
At a blank wall
A blank, white wall
Like some things, a waste of space
In need of improvement
If walls could talk
Share smiles and happiness
Tears and pain
Laughter and sorrow
Some people would say
“This wall needs color, change”
What’s wrong with it?
There’s no need for change
All it is
Is a blank, white wall
Wanting to scream out, to cry
Wanting to stay, to live
Desperate to live
Needing to live

Until The Silence Reigns
and so it happens
the clock strikes seven
you dream about curtains
catching flames
the house screams
and you discover you
are but a wall of this
structure
you look at the clock
on your side
it is seven
but seven what?
you get up from bed
and proceed to the CR
wash your face
feeling like a wall still
you rub the soap

The Wall Between
The wall between is grown so thin
That whoso peers may see
A flutter of rose, a living green
Like new leaves on a tree.
The wall's now gotten many a chink
Where whoso leans may hear
The feet of them who pass to drink
All at a well clear.
The people go, the people flow
T'other side o' the wall
With silken rustle and laughter low
As to a festival.
Come mother and wife and piteous bride,
The wall's nigh broken through;
And there be some the other side
That peep and pry for you.

The Wall
I've hit a wall that I have to climb,
a wall I have to scale.
It frightens me as I look at it
and yet I know without fail
that many have slowly ascended it
but not without some scratches.
Scratches are small reminders
that occur as you climb a little higher.
They bleed for a time and give you concern
and you rest because you tire.
The rest is healing, the time you need
to see the wall get smaller.
When you reach the top and feel the thrill
of how you kept on going,
the climb itself is exhilaration
and the satisfaction in knowing
that no wall is too high, too high to defy.
It's a wall where fear was growing.

No More
You said you loved
But you gave strife
You followed me from wall to wall
Clicked my every click
You were overbearing
And in my face
You intimidated my family and friends
Then we broke ties
I set you aside
To follow my heart
You said I was not worthy
To be a daughter of yours
You allowed your concubine
To insult and torture my soul
Guess what?
I do not really care
What the world may say
For I am now in the driving seat
You interrogated me daily

In the Dark I Sit
In the dark I sit
A picture on the wall
Eyes staring observing me
Talks to me tells me I’m valueless
A nothing a nobody
I yell at it tell it to stop
But it just ignores me
In the dark I sit
A picture on the wall
Eyes staring observing me
Talks to me tells me I’m valueless
I’m nothing a nobody
I try to ignore it I try to block out the voices
But I have to give in
In the dark I sir
A picture on the wall
Eyes staring observing me
Talks to me tells me I’m valueless
I’m nothing a nobody
I try not to listen try to deny it

Weep Holes
Don't take us for the wall itself
For when the earthen plank behind the wall
Gets soaked through
We'll let the sorrow of burdonsome wetness
Flow through us
The soil sucks the trees' roots till now
Till now the sorrow of waters
hasn't reached the earthen plank behind the walls
Earth has not seen the woebegone face of the sky
The wall hasn't learnt to shed tears
Wind even now expects to blow the leaves away
Empty polythene bags sputter on roads
That never had trees planted on sides
People drink blood of their own climes
And grow like germs
Bonfire conflagrations ignite every where
Smoke has turned the flowers black
Butterflies' wings look ashen
