Let us share this precious moment in time,
Without fear of judgement, away from prying eyes,
Although I know there will be other times for us,
In this moment I crave you like nothing else in existance,
You stir the emotions within me like no other,
The intoxicating aroma of you is the drug I crave,
We embrace beneath the glow of a lunar smile,
My lips on your skin drinking in the very essence of you,
I submit to the entrapment of your sweet embrace,
Those captivating emerald eyes reveal to me your soul,
You are my warmth in a frozen barren loveless world,
No words needed, we think, we move and act as one,
We journey to a place where we become a beautiful whole,
Your thought's become mine, my emotions belong to you,
In this moment my own burning need is just as yours,
The need to hold you thoughout all eternity and never let go,
To feel the passion that burns within your soul set my heart aflame,
In order that we may be eternally consumed by loves embrace,
So I make a wish into the stars... That all infinity shall come to a halt...

The Voyage Of The 'Ophir

Men of our race, we send you one
Round whom Victoria's holy name
Is halo from the sunken sun
Of her grand Summer's day aflame.
The heart of your loved Motherland,
To them she loves as her own blood,
This Flower of Ocean bears in hand,
Assured of gift as good.

Forth for our Southern shores the fleet
Which crowns a nation's wisdom steams,
That there may Briton Briton greet,
And stamp as fact Imperial dreams.
Across the globe, from sea to sea,
The long smoke-pennon trails above,
Writes over sky how wise will be
The Power that trusts to love.

A love that springs from heart and brain
In union gives for ripest fruit

The Flower’s Name

I

Through this garden her steps swept
before she opened the gate,
where roses with dew wept
and not a moment longer she could wait,
while there was something gracious in her walk
before she stopped a moment at the letterbox,
in the distance children’s voices she heard talk
while her arm brushed against the snow-white phlox.

Her feet carried her in ready steps as she passed by,
saw red carnations in a row
and her eyes sparkled bluer than the sky
while she felt a gentle breeze blow
everywhere flowers and buds did God praise

The necklacing (in answer to Geoffrey Haresnape)

I saw people sending others into eternity
on that dark night
that we were on military patrol
in the black township

and there was evil, something inhuman
that had taken control of a crowd
who with their wicked grins and sneering leers
dragged seven tied men
and there was no salvation at hand
but for the guns of my men and I

and the struggling weeping victims
were pinned down, circled in a ring
with fuel been poured over them
and I heard fearful screams
and yelled at the group to stop
saw them dragging tyres nearer
lighting matches and fired
short bursts over their heads,

You change…so do places
You get older…as places do too
You look about for familiar faces
But only memory’s ghost looks back at you

You see the places…places in the heart
You hear long gone voices from the past
You still seem.. and yearn to be a part
Of memories that seem… to fade so fast

Fleeting touch…soft brush of lips
Memories of young love, breath held in wonder
Soft gentle touch of tender finger tips
Young hearts aflame, emotions torn asunder

That old red wagon, that very first snow
The big hill where we coasted, now seems so small
the old homestead stood here…where did it go?

Courage in the Glass

Outside the bottle it's scary, thwarting all I aspire
Inside it's blurry liquid courage is what I desire

Touching my lips with the first sip makes me smile
For now I know where it will end in a short while

The moment I feel the warmth sliding down my throat
Oh it is so gloriously deliciously hidden in my waistcoat

With that first sip everything seems so clear
It knows just how to vanquish all my fears

Walking will be impossible but the world is at my feet
Who cares I am strong now my life it's so complete

Today, I'll show them all, I won't be thought of as a loser
I watch them snicker for in secret they all call me a boozer

The foul stench of burning flesh permeates the air,
Rotten, putrefying bodies lie in the baking sun,
Bright crimson death everywhere,
Frightened masses on the run

Wide-eyed terror on the prowl,
Africa rent asunder,
Can be seen Death’s scowl,
Sheer madness in Rwanda

Frenzied killing unabated,
A fevered orgy of blood,
Hate and bloodlust not sated,

Another Epitaph on an Army of Mercenaries (in reply to A.E. Housman)

In the days when heaven shook
and Lucifer an angel of light,
took a third
of once holy ones with him
in a mercenary calling, made darkness his own,
when he tried to become equal to the creator God

that army of mercenaries fought
against Michael and his host
and lost, falling in defeat
and Michael and his host ended the rebellion,
had it suspended

and the mercenaries paid the price for their deceit,
(if any of them died they did deserved it)
and they fell like comets from the sky
and burning, aflame to this planet they came
which is still revolving as it did then

Leave me upon the cross to bleed

The Festival Of Lights

A flame ignited the star that led to Bethlehem's light, the same flame that ignites in every heart on Christmas night. The celebration of His life that candles are bright, a gift of love packaged just right. Was it not the nativity scene, the babe in the manager, that angels harp and sing and golden bells ring welcoming the King. Jesus is the festival of lights for His ornaments are so bright upon every Christmas tree an emblem of love alight for thee. Red embodies the supreme sacrifice of Christ upon the cross by He, the sardius stone, a majestic heart set aflame, His transcendent light so we sing silent night. (Yahalom) Diamond of white speaks of purity, translucent prism of holy light reflecting the Shekinah fire bright. When Shiloh, the obedient one, came forth He set the yellow and orange aglow as a holy fire took course, when the Bright and Morning Star broke forth. Blue is a manifestation of the new birth, a new creation thenceforth, the King of Kings proposed to His ransomed bride, my throne by my side you will sit forever and reside. (Yashpeth) Eternal life is sprung because of the triumph that Christ has won. The Sparkling emerald throne is where glory of Lamb of God is shown.
