Quotes about hung, page 17

Loveliest of Trees, the Cherry Now

Loveliest of trees, the cherry now
Is hung with bloom along the bough,
And stands about the woodland ride
Wearing white for Eastertide.

Now, of my threescore years and ten,
Twenty will not come again,
And take from seventy springs a score,
It only leaves me fifty more.

And since to look at things in bloom
Fifty springs are little room,
About the woodlands I will go
To see the cherry hung with snow.

So Sweet A Song

A golden star hung in the sky,
And sang to the child a lullaby.
So sweet a song, that the boy did sleep
Alongside the donkey and bleating sheep.

Fresh hay, so soft, was his cradle bed,
Within a cold and damp cattle shed.
And his Mother, in her deep joy, wept,
As vigil over here babe, she kept.

A golden star hung in the sky,
And shone so bright to signify
That here did lay a Holy King,
Who gives us life everlasting.

A Chase

Since birth
It's an endless chase.
A carrot was hung before me
And I was made to run.

Run....run......
Surpass others
Make sure you grab it
Before anyone.

The carrot went on
Changing its nature and color
Once you hung it for me
Now see, I have my own.

Once a compulsion
Now an instilled obsession
Drives me hard
Says, run and run.

Impossible

everything in my life is impossible
nothing is plausible
im too young
to be hung
hung up on you
but everything i do
you're always there
i wish i didn't care
but i do
it's only you
i know its strong
i know it should be wrong
noone should feel like this
i'm too young to miss
just miss seeing you
i can't believe myself
this is affecting my mental health
my heartstrings are starting to whither
only you can can pull them together
you are my sickness

The gallery of my heart

The gallery of my heart
~
Like a portrait hung
In the gallery of my heart
A girl of undoubted beauty
Breathtaking and full of wonder
Holds my gaze completely
I find my words flowing
In a river of adoration
I dedicate her my soul
There is a girl of beauty
Beyond which none compare
Painted to a memory
In the gallery of my heart
The softness of her eyes
A warmth to her lips
Fair skin and cascading hair
What love may imagine
When looking upon
A girl in portrait hung

Kriss Kringle

Just as the moon was fading
Amid her misty rings,
And every stocking was stuffed
With childhood’s precious things,

Old Kriss Kringle looked around,
And saw on the elm-tree bough,
High hung, an oriole’s nest,
Lonely and empty now.

“Quite a stocking,” he laughed,
Hung up there on a tree!
I didn’t suppose the birds
Expected a present from me!”

Then old Kriss Kringle, who loves
A joke as well as the best,
Dropped a handful of snowflakes
Into the oriole’s empty nest.

Today... 'The Chosen One

'This is the King of the Jews', it read...
The notice they hung above Your head,
But You were the Chosen One of God
And that grim road to Calvary trod.

'Father, forgive them...', was Your prayer,
As two thieves were hung beside You there...
'Lord, in Your kingdom, remember me...'
Was one dying thief's departing plea.

'Today, you will be in paradise...'
Came the great promise from Jesus Christ,
The Messiah and the Chosen One,
Our loving Saviour and God's great Son.

The Closet

In the closet hung her dresses
and her shoes were on the floor.
She would not wear the dresses now
nor the shoes anymore.
He could not give her clothes away.
He smelled them everyday.

In the closet hung her robes
and nightgowns that were sheer.
She would not wear them in the nights,
her nights no longer here.
He could not give them all away.
He fingered them every day.

In the closet he felt close to her
and spoke in whispered word.
'I remember how you looked in these.'
He spoke as if she heard.
'I cannot give your clothes away.
They're all I have of you today.'

American Wild West: Cattle Rustlers

there was a time
in American history
when cattle rustlers
were shot or hung

stealing beef on the hoof
hot irons changing brands
fast rustled up retribution
justice from a rope hung

there was a time
in American history
when cruel range wars
were fought with guns

settlers driven off farmland
starved their crops ruined
their homes stolen burned
cattle grazed homesteaders

Just dreaming.....

The string unsealed itself,
the little stick-on flower fell.
The paper unwrapped around the box
that hung open now…..

The shop keeper's hand fell loose
and money slipped from hers to mine
as she retrieved the gift
I'd bought.

I reversed, drifting, floating
all the way down the street
along with all the other
plebs that night.

My house lights came on
as I backed into the hallway
and my make up slid off
as I regurgitated tea
