Quotes about twins, page 17

Ella Wheeler Wilcox

The Needle and Thread

The Needle and Thread one day were wed,
The Thimble acted as priest,
A paper of Pins, and the Scissors twins
Were among the guests at the feast.

That dandy trim the Bodkin slim
Danced with Miss Tape-measure,
But he stepped on her trail, and she called him 'a whale,'
And that put an end to their pleasure.

Wrinkled and fat the Beeswax sat
And talked with the Needle-case.
'I am glad,' she said, 'that my niece, the Thread,
Has married into this race.

'Her mother, the Spool, was a dull old fool,
And the Needle and Thread were shy;

The Twins

"Give" and "It-shall-be-given-unto-you"

I

Grand rough old Martin Luther
Bloomed fables-flowers on furze,
The better the uncouther:
Do roses stick like burrs?

II

A beggar asked an alms
One day at an abbey-door,
Said Luther; but, seized with qualms,
The abbot replied, "We're poor!"

Edgar Allan Poe

A Valentine

For her this rhyme is penned, whose luminous eyes,
Brightly expressive as the twins of Leda,
Shall find her own sweet name, that nestling lies
Upon the page, enwrapped from every reader.
Search narrowly the lines!- they hold a treasure
Divine- a talisman- an amulet
That must be worn at heart. Search well the measure-
The words- the syllables! Do not forget
The trivialest point, or you may lose your labor
And yet there is in this no Gordian knot
Which one might not undo without a sabre,
If one could merely comprehend the plot.
Enwritten upon the leaf where now are peering
Eyes scintillating soul, there lie perdus
Three eloquent words oft uttered in the hearing
Of poets, by poets- as the name is a poet's, too,
Its letters, although naturally lying
Like the knight Pinto- Mendez Ferdinando-
Still form a synonym for Truth- Cease trying!
You will not read the riddle, though you do the best you can do.

John Donne

To Mr. I. P.

BLEST are your north parts, for all this long time
My sun is with you ; cold and dark's our clime ;
Heaven's sun, which stay'd so long from us this year,
Stay'd in your north, I think, for she was there ;
And hither by kind nature drawn from thence,
Here rages, chafes, and threatens pestilence.
Yet I, as long as she from hence doth stay,
Think this no south, no summer, nor no day.
With thee my kind and unkind heart is run ;
There sacrifice it to that beauteous sun.
So may thy pastures with their flowery feasts,
As suddenly as lard, fat thy lean beasts ;
So may thy woods oft poll'd, yet ever wear
A green, and—when thee list—a golden hair ;
So may all thy sheep bring forth twins ; and so
In chase and race may thy horse all out-go ;
So may thy love and courage ne'er be cold ;
Thy son ne'er ward ; thy loved wife ne'er seem old.
But mayst thou wish great things, and them attain,
As thou tell'st her, and none but her, my pain.

Kardashians

I am not really into the Kardashians.
And like others who lie about this,
I must admit...
I'm into Lamar and Khloe Odom.
There is a genuiness,
About their relationship.

A family for them I see begins.
An arrival of twins.
I have no idea why this vision appears.
Or why the Kardashians,
I endear. I do! And...so what of it?
Maybe its their flaws and blemishes.
Or perhaps the hard work involved,
That has me awed and this magic fits.

Whatever it is, Kris Jenner has done this.
And then again...
It all probably began with the patience of Bruce.
Since he introduced that Olympian spirit.

Could The Spring Come Back Again

could the spring come back again or never
after we are accostumed to a harsh, white, frozen winter
the frozen sticks melted from the fringes
of the roofs
the hot rays of sun
are glitttering from the horizon
someone lit the light
somr sparrows and finches began to fly
on the yellow brown dog thistles
could the spring come back again
nobody knows how ı love my sisters
in their shields
protecting themselves
figthing with the harshness of life
defending themselves
walking like soldiers on roads
with big soldier bags on shoulders
prams fulll of children
some crying
some playing

Julie Claire

Oh Julie Claire was very fair,
Yet generous as well,
And many a lad of metal had
A saucy tale to tell
Of sultry squeeze beneath the trees
Or hugging in the hay . . .
Of love her share had Julie Claire
When life was lush and gay.

And then the village wealth to pillage
Came the Teuton horde;
The haughty Huns with mighty guns
And clattering of sword.
And Julie Claire had honey hair
With eyes of soft azure,
So she became the favoured flame
Of the Kommandatur.

But when at last the plague was past,
The bloody war well won,

Water to Wind

Sprinkling cheddars of subtle evaporation
Caress the wind as it whistles past its ears
Making sounds waves and echoing through its shells
Vocal cords like guitar strings water moves through wind
Making its way with no synchronized recording

How the two easily blend as you feel the shivers
Not of coldness but that of calmness like a steady river flow
Making the breeze of the wind cause and abundance of events past the water fall
Together embracing the mythology of magic as reality
They dances side by side through day and night
Earth as their play ground, valley’s, mountains and all insight

Amazing how one naturally cancels the other
But when they are together
They are intertwined like synapses via brain through Siamese twins

They form a sanctuary of celestial paradise
Where they are their own jury and upon themselves they’ll scrutinize
Soothing sensuality with eyes closed and visualize

Best Friend (Song)

Verse 1:
We may be far apart
But you’re safe here in my heart
You’re my sister
You’re my twin

Chorus:
Because you’re my best friend,
You’re my twin!
Don’t you worry
We will be together in the end

No matter where are
I know were wishin’ on the same bright star!
No matter where we go
We will always know always know…

Verse 2:
You are my smile
You are my blood
