Wives Pay While Soldiers Lay
As they handed the folded up American flag to her,
For her to have and to hold.
She gazed at the stars and stripes.
Emotions overriding her thoughts.
Not believing this could be real.
She laid it against her chest as shivers went up her spine.
Hugging it tight as if she held it tight enough,
She would make him breath again.
Her heart barley beat and only to the tune of it breaking,
With unleashed tears and,
The combination of the weeks of fears.
Not knowing if he is going to come home,
And now the worst has came true.
Every part of her wants to lose control.
A flag was used to lure away her husband of only 3 years,
And the father of her 16 month old baby.
To lure him the love of her young life.
To fight a war that was not to be won.

A Visit From Hell
There came a knock,
a knock on my door.
I looked out the window.
My heart fell on the floor.
The knock came again.
I covered up my ears
for standing outside
confirmed all my fears.
Two military gentlemen
with sad looking eyes
asked to come inside
and tried to sympathize.
My son, they said had died
bravely in the war.
The flag they handed me
I lay gently on the floor.

Independence Day
On July the Fourth we celebrate
with fireworks so high.
We shoot them off and watch them
as they burst into the sky
reminding us that rockets were a part
of our history.
As a nation, we were formed with hopes
that we'd all be free,
Free from intolerance, injustice
and religious bigotry.
We started out with all of these
but slowly we did see
that ideals in this country
slowly did they change
and now as fireworks go off
I find it rather strange
that different points of view
that make us who we are,

Six O'Clock News
he sat in the parking lot,
a Vietnam vet, breathing hard,
fog rising in the cold....
across the way two kids
were getting ready to raise
the flag... just another day....
they'd been married for 30 years.
he met her when he was thirty,
and she was just sixteen....
now he was over sixty,
and his health was bad....
and she'd been fooling around
with a man her own age.
he just couldnt see, just couldnt
believe... nowhere to go.

Nationalists
Nationalists of all Nations are similar 'twould seem
Their National flag on flagpost in their front yard is there for all to be seen
Their message is we are superior to every other Race
And the culture of others we never will embrace.
And one thing about Nationalists they never have been rare
I see and meet them every day for they live everywhere
Proud of their Nationality and full of patriotic pride
In their naivety they do believe that God is on their side.
Nationalists of all Nations multiculturalism do not embrace
For the culture of other Races than their's in their lives there's not a place
They are not egalatarin or never pretend to be
They merely feel superior to all of humanity.
You will find them in every Race and they live everywhere
Nationalists they are quite plentiful they never have been rare
Their National flag in their front yards say more than words can say
They feel so much superior and they've always been that way.

Nails in the Coffin
there's an American flag burning
in a barrel down in a broken alley.
three homeless vets warming their hands,
passing smokes, and a bottle of 'mad dog'.
paint peeling from the haunted porch
of a vacant house; trash blows
across the yard and down the street,
an old dog waits furtively at the door.
and the girl with the needle, and
painted eyes, sprawled naked in the tub...
watching roaches crawl across the floor,
fear struck dreams and the mother rush.
little boy playing in hand-me-down clothes
left out on the sidewalk in the cold.
hungry, and he just dont know to care,
wonders when his mom is coming home.

The Battle Cry of Freedom- Union
Yes, we'll rally round the flag, boys,
We'll rally once again,
Shouting the battle cry of Freedom,
We will rally from the hillside,
We'll gather from the plain,
Shouting the battle cry of Freedom.
CHORUS: The Union forever,
Hurrah! boys, hurrah!
Down with the traitors,
Up with the stars;
While we rally round the flag, boys,
Rally once again,
Shouting the battle cry of Freedom.
We are springing to the call
Of our brothers gone before,
Shouting the battle cry of Freedom;
And we'll fill our vacant ranks with
A million free men more,

The Battle Cry Of Freedom (Southern Version)
Our flag is proudly floating
On the land and on the main,
Shout, shout the battle cry of Freedom!
Beneath it oft we've conquered,
And we'll conquer oft again!
Shout, shout the battle cry of Freedom!
CHORUS: Our Dixie forever!
She's never at a loss!
Down with the eagle
And up with the cross!
We'll rally 'round the bonny flag,
We'll rally once again,
Shout, shout the battle cry of Freedom!
Our gallant boys have marched
To the rolling of the drums,
Shout, shout the battle cry of Freedom!
And the leaders in charge cry out,
'Come, boys, come!'

Allegiance
From the very beginning,
Their scheme was a hoax.
And those who did not pledge to it...
Were harrassed and provoked.
And through the years,
This 'republic' still stands...
With little of its integrity left.
And liars still in command.
And the flag that represents,
This symbolic mock of democracy.
Unites only those whose eyes are shut closed.
With beliefs they uphold something of value,
That exists.
But those who are thieves...
Have only used the image of it,
To oppress and steal...
And harness a fulfillment,

The Locals Are The Premiers
Above the Local oval for twelve months will fly the Premiership flag
The Locals are the Premiers they can afford to brag
Down at the Footy Club they are celebrating and singing the Club song
The fans are in a party mood they will sing all night long.
The Locals are the Premiers the champion team this year
Their fans are celebrating they will drink heaps of beer
Since the final siren was blown today the fans have sung long and loud
The Local team have won the day and have done themselves proud.
Lets hear it for the Premiers a mighty hip hooray
The local football fans are cheering in this their greatest day
For the winners joy and the losers heartache that's life as some would say
Life has it's good and bad times and it has always been this way.
The local football team are Premiers and their fans celebrate
Two decades since the last flag was won but it was a worth the wait
The town pubs are in a festive mood they will party on all night
And down at the Football Club Rooms the fans whoop in delight.
