Quotes about pneumonia, page 2

Barbara Elaine

Lips that taste of candy cane.
So young to spun the bottle game
Summer hay rides with my flame.

On through school our love stayed the same.
Playing in the hay, moon lite window pane
A kiss in the dark was the aim.

Us sixteen and far from being tame
Our love was still strong; your images etch in my brain.

School now over to love and fame.
A ring for your finger; the telephone rang.
Your mother crying, my heart went still to hear your name.

She lies there so still; pneumonia was to blame.
Her eyes closed; her lips still taste of candy cane.
Two heart the same
Death did claim

Venus

'Venus! It's you! '
'You recognize me? '
'Anywhere! Is that your Meryl Streep look? '
'Very funny.'
'How did you get here? '
'Why, I took the train. It's the fastest way, you know.'
'But you're naked! '
'Oh, so I am. One should always travel comfortably, I believe.'
'You can't just go walking around town naked! -
not in January, anyway. Even you! '
'Don't be such a prude.'
'I'm not a prude! You'll catch pneumonia. You'll get arrested! '
'Nobody complained.'
'Look-you can wear your clothes lightly, but you can't go naked.'
'In my part of the world everybody does.'
'You're too much. That was a long time ago. Things change! '
'What do you mean, change? '
'Well, nowadays we've got-
'Got what? ...'
'Religion!

Nimisha (poetrysoup international contest winner)

In her layette she looked fair.
'Nimisha', parents called her.
When aged five, polio plucked
The strings that her legs moved:
As a string less violin, her legs rest.
In wheelchair she grew up,
Along with her mother's tension,
And father's anxiety.

Rustic children wish her,
But nobody takes her
To the festival
In the shrine rural.
She wore new dress,
But as the butterflies in her frock,
She also cannot flit
To the shrine yard.

Cough waves, today also,
Shake her lungs so.

R.I.P. Dear Dad

It was this day, my father died,
A score and three years back;
One early morn, while he lay ill,
And children were around.

He had double pneumonia:
With diabetes too;
We could not do much about it,
With three children, doctors.

The sudden death anguished us all,
But he was pretty old;
The way he reared us still remains
A puzzle unraveled!

From humble beginnings, he rose
To be a learned man;
He taught and spoke in unmatched style
That put the world dumbfound!

The Angel

When my love and I decided to marry
she mentioned something new.
She told me she had seen an angel
more than a time or two.

I didn’t want to challenge her beliefs
even though I certainly did,
so I said perhaps it was her guardian angel
who would protect her while she lived.

She said the first time that she saw him
was when she died at the age of four.
She was in hospital suffering from pneumonia
and had knocked on heavens door.

As the medical team revived her,
the angel left with a smile and wave,
and she didn’t see him again until
the funeral at her mother’s grave.

Alibi School

My pal, Jake, majored in corruption.
His final exam: a girl from the Midwest,

three weeks to dismantle eighteen years
of good parenting. High results came early

in the easy days, with the principal taking
his puff from the honor role in the bathroom.

In gym we learned how to turn our backs
on the world at once; the team

elected me captain of varsity nosebleeds.
At the prom, we parked our limousine

before doing the mandatory wind sprints;
my date's eyes were big, hazel dictionaries.

At our homecoming Jake injected the clouds
with a hero's last breath; rain on the victory parade

The Dream Theater

I saw you in the movie
Standby…. lights, camera,
And action…hallucination
Produced by the hearts…
Directed by honeyed minds…

Scene 1:

You smile all the times
The winds whisper to your ears
“ He wants you so bad you don’t want to know”
“That’s pretty awesome”, said the mouth
The body says, “ I’m feeling so refreshed,
after a mug of love caffeine”
Your eyes twinkling like Hollywood stars
Neurological invasion replenished
Pneumonia of sadness relinquished
Nephrology of urethra stress diminished
Cardiac arrest strengthen your diseased heart
Cancerous cells of lust elevated

Troopin

(Our Army in the East)

Troopin', troopin', troopin' to the sea:
'Ere's September come again -- the six-year men are free.
O leave the dead be'ind us, for they cannot come away
To where the ship's a-coalin' up that takes us 'ome to-day.
We're goin' 'ome, we're goin' 'ome,
Our ship is at the shore,
An' you must pack your 'aversack,
For we won't come back no more.
Ho, don't you grieve for me,
My lovely Mary-Ann,
For I'll marry you yit on a fourp'ny bit
As a time-expired man.

The ~Malabar~'s in 'arbour with the ~Jumner~ at 'er tail,
An' the time-expired's waitin' of 'is orders for to sail.
Ho! the weary waitin' when on Khyber 'ills we lay,

Hecho

Ikmo, apog, bunga at saka maskada
Ang ikmo'y papahiran muna ng apog
Saka sa maskada't bunga'y ibabalot
Sabay-sabay silang saka ngunguyain

Geronimo

Quotes from Geronimo
'I was warmed by the sun, rocked by the winds and sheltered by the trees as other Indian babes. I was living peaceably when people began to speak bad of me. Now I can eat well, sleep well and be glad. I can go everywhere with a good feeling. The soldiers never explained to the government when an Indian was wronged, but reported the misdeeds of the Indians. We took an oath not to do any wrong to each other or to scheme against each other.
I cannot think that we are useless or God would not have created us. There is one God looking down on us all. We are all the children of one God. The sun, the darkness, the winds are all listening to what we have to say.
When a child, my mother taught me to kneel and pray to Usen for strength, health, wisdom and protection. Sometimes we prayed in silence, sometimes each one prayed aloud; sometimes an aged person prayed for all of us... and to Usen.
I was born on the prairies where the wind blew free and there was nothing to break the light of the sun. I was born where there were no enclosures.'

My brother and the best friend Lalith
Told me something about you long ago.
Your name in short Nimo
And I am Nimal.
(DNA) Nucleic Acid would proves that we're far realatives or not?
I search a bit of the proud History
And You're born to the Bedonkohe
Band of the Apache, near Turkey Creek
A Tributary of the Gila river in the modern day
State of New Mexico!
In February 1909, Geranimo was thrown from his Horse
While riding home.
He died of Pneumonia on February 17,1909 as a Prisoner.
On his deathbed, he confessed to his nephew that he regretted
