Quotes about prod, page 2

New you! ! !

You saved my heart from shredding
We don't say I love you
I like that
You don't poke or prod
You saved me from dying
Every day I fall into your arms
I hope you never leave
Because I want you to hold me close
I really think this could work you know

For the society’s welfare

Duty be performed
As per one’s power,
Not as per one’s will.

Burden be shared
As per one’s strength,
Not on equal foot.

Alms be extended
As per one’s wallet,
Not as per ratio.

No more is required
To prod the society
Towards its welfare.

War on Terror

Grey haired lady
by the dairy -
phones in ears:
can't hear my
"'Scuse me! "
I touch her
shoulder
lightly,
eliciting
"Oh, please, God! "
With a prod
I move
her basket.
She yells,
"Go away! "
I do:
A terrorist
escapes
in the local
Safeway.

Larry's Produce

The market rings with laughter.

In Spanish and German,
Russian and a dozen other tongues
weary children cry
in the mid-morning sun

as old eyes, wise hands
prod peach and mango
mounded peas and beans
looking for any flaw.

Finding none,
they fill their bags
with the fragrant gifts
of this milk-
and-honeyed
land.

Give a boost to lust

Passion for sex will die a natural death,
Thanks to the monogamous monotony.
Fresh flesh and the revived curiosity
Prod man and woman, the middle aged,
For one night stand adventure, guiltless.
For man, a reward of his worthiness.
For woman, a reaffirmation of her assets.
Back to rails, their wheels get a boost.

The Light of Hinduism

hinduism, you either walk
straight to the devil
or the Great Divine
you pass through a plethora of
gods and goddesses
before you sample the gem of its
teachings

between the verses
a net to sieve the devils
and demons
from the enlightened ones
who look beyond rituals
and care to prod, ask,
ask the divine of the divine
seek the light of light

A Cycle

Absently my abrupt cycle is like coffee,
One of the computers talking of ability.

Drink them in ways known to God,
To prod in a fraudulent, flawed nod.

My crystal-jaws quake in rods and cups,
This horse may gallop for it bankrupts.

I have hiccups and peppers to taste,
Compasses swivel too jealously, encased.

This cycle accepts my computer,
Acres of activity accuse the accomplisher.

Cheerleader With A Twist!

Cheerleader
Cutter
Student
Missing pieces of her life
Split personality
No one sees
No one seems to care
THey all laugh
Prod and make fun
There's no stopping them
They just keep going
She writes a note
Ends it all
The note says
'Hope you're happy'
Parents left wondering
'What happened? I thought she was fine'
They didn't see
They didn't know and now she's gone up with the angels
Free to fly the way she wants to without getting made fun of

Not they who soar

Not they who soar, but they who plod
Their rugged way, unhelped, to God
Are heroes; they who higher fare,
And, flying, fan the upper air,
Miss all the toil that hugs the sod.
'Tis they whose backs have felt the rod,
Whose feet have pressed the path unshod,
May smile upon defeated care,
Not they who soar.

High up there are no thorns to prod,
Nor boulders lurking 'neath the clod
To turn the keenness of the share,
For flight is ever free and rare;
But heroes they the soil who've trod,
Not they who soar!
