I am a careful surfer
I'm watchful where I go;
I slide around in cyber-space
Gently - nice and slow.

I'm careful who I take on board
Along my cyber way;
Some I leave in lifeboats
To find their own sweet way.

But it's great this cyber-surfing,
I never ever dreamed
Of all this interaction with
Whomever up I teamed.

But careful is the watchword
Those bugs are on our tail;
Hold your vessel steady, as
In cyber-space you sail.

He Miss The Old Town

He miss the old town by the ocean and he misses the smell of the sea
And in his moments of nostalgia in fancy he hear and see
The silver gulls above the wide beach in small flocks they call as they fly
And the soft pipings of the sooty oystercatchers echo in the clear morning sky.

He was a young man of the sixties and young men they age and grow old
All year round he rode the big surf waves in a wet suit to keep out the cold
Till he wandered far from the ocean fell in love, married and settled down
An ageing dad with teenage daughters he lives in a big inland Town.

He is out of practice for surfing and he lives far from the ocean shore
A champion young surfer of the sixties perhaps he will surf never more
You can take the man from the ocean but the ocean does not leave the man
Though far from the roar of the surf waves he well may live out his time span.

He miss the old town by the ocean though he now might feel a stranger there
A champion young surfer of the late sixties till lust for wander it took him to elsehwere
in his imaginings he rides the big waves and on his face the ocean spray
And at heart he is a coastal person though from there he lives far away.

Let It Be In The Sight

and the mind that's closing the eyes
reaching for the soft slopes of mountains
walking through the valleys to the side
of the fountains cut off from the edge of a drop
to sprinkle horizons with a moist grain of salt
rising on a dried out lip and see
the waves of deserts in sun burnt skin
a lonely surfer born in tide wind
who never looked for a piece of the shore

Diligence

at 3 o'clock
the surfer continues to search
for what is missing

in his life
scanning it like the pages of an old
diary

in his exhaustion he continues
till daybreak

until he finds it
he cannot sleep until the question is answered

there is this seed that grows within
there are roots digging

the value of his existence
the reasons enumerating why a day should be added
