Quotes about sandy, page 20
The Season
The season slides
to wind and showers
and sharp hot sun
(for rare half-hours)
and all the world
lays waste its powers
pursuing what it cannot own.
Then mists and fogs and hazy sunrise
ships’ dull horns and lazy gull cries.
Now blazing heat
(bone dry pails)
sandy feet
single sails.
And thoughts slip in and out of being
just on the edge of almost-seeing.

Sandy
Lost a willow to Sandy
Many lost a whole lot more
On my deck sipping Brandy
Better here that down the shore
Houses ravaged, boats are tossed
People told: leave the island
Most went mainland, some are lost
Either way they took a stand
Mother Nature calls the shots
A lesson learned my dear friends
So, take heed or sleep in cots
And with God please make amends

Death And Departure.....
he is filling up his calendar
with travels
dream tours somewhere in the north
and then the south
white sandy beaches, cool green mountains
exotic cuisine, luxury hotels
tickets for two
all paid packaged tours
she is finally saying that she is not going anywhere
she will stay in the house
'... and die early'.
his bags are ready, the plane is waiting.

My Home
My home
Or is it?
The home of the sandy shells
From the beach?
Whispering
Whispering
Whispering
Or it could be the home
Of the old fireplace?
Where the fire burns bright
In the dark
In the dark
In the dark
Could it be the home
Of the loud clock?
Going
Tick

Hell on the Wabash
When country fiddlers held a convention in
Danville, the big money went to a barn dance
artist who played Turkey in the Straw, with
variations.
They asked him the name of the piece calling
it a humdinger and he answered, "I call it
'Hell on the Wabash.'"
The two next best were The Speckled Hen, and
Sweet Potatoes Grow in Sandy Land, with
variations.

Moving Windows
Behind a wall of moving windows,
I wave from the leaving train
Trying hard to reassure you,
Bring a smile to your pain
I can feel your tears are cracking
Concrete on the platform floor
You run forth to tracks below you
Like you swim towards sandy shore
I still see your shadow running
When I sleep and when I wake
There I feel your love forever
And your infinite heartache

Hurricane heart
My heart is the eye
Of the hurricane:
A calm central wall
Divided from the stroms
Of my body.
The suspriration of violent
Heaving, passion.
Flows out in funnels,
Breaking what it meets,
Good or bad,
Sandy beach or saddened brows,
Undeclared lovers of the sudden
Sun, under which I hide,
And the unleashed currents
Beckoned by the tide
And the continuity of time itself.

Walk with Me on water
The only way
to walk along the beach
is barefoot.
For one golden sandy moment
your footprint signature
is a part of the beach;
a bayside Hollywood Boulevard.
Hear the shore break;
coooooooooh
tshhhhhhhhhh,
cover your toes.
Your path is unique
tracks now disappear
no-one can follow.
But a couple
of distinct journeys

Time is but the stream I go a-fishing in. I drink at it; but while I drink, I see the sandy bottom and detect how shallow it is. Its thin current slides away, but eternity remains. I would drink deeper; fish fill the sky, whose bottom is pebbly with stars. I cannot count one. I know not the first letter of the alphabet. I have always been regretting that I was not as wise as the day I was born.

Akin
I hear the tantalizing sound
Of sibilant sea waves shaping
Sandy shorelines, beckoning my
Soul’s return whence it came
With every endless subsidence.
Like a giant magnet it draws
Me toward its salty expanse
As if in a soporific
Sleep; a somnambulating stroll
Into undulated wetness
Arouses me from my stupor
As it washes over my feet.
I look down at its shallow depth
and smile at my progenitor.
