Quotes about gleeful, page 3

Spring Storm

I love a storm in early May
When springtime's boisterous, firstborn thunder
Over the sky will gaily wander
And growl and roar as though in play.

A peal, another - gleeful, cheering...
Rain, raindust... On the trees, behold!-
The drops hang, each a long pearl earring;
Bright sunshine paints the thin threads gold.

A stream downhill goes rushing reckless,
And in the woods the birds rejoice.
Din. Clamour. Noise. All nature echoes
The thunder's youthful, merry voice.

You'll say: 'Tis laughing, carefree Hebe -
She fed her father's eagle, and
The Storm Cup brimming with a seething
And bubbling wine dropped from her hand.

This Time When I Met Her

Gorgeous.. fulgent.. self-esteemed
Surpassing any beauty heavenly
Tinseling her aureolin in racemes
'twixt her buddy-green all gleeful
Round her aureole buzzing beetles
In swinging breeze singing a melody
Caught awe-struck drowned my mind
Then my heart, my soul all pretty
She demanded a song from me
For her to dance an elysian style
Awe-struck me in silence too silent
'A song' she demanded...only in vain
My ear drums beat me..only in vain
Angry her one grape - bunch cursed me
Then paled bunches all slowly faded
She's gone buzzing beetle me waiting
Who's she? flora Golden Shower

A Child's Laughter

One of a kind this cheerful sound
A child's laughter wherever it's found
From the giggling of a baby in a playpen
To the laughter of a toddler again and again

A child's laughter can bring a smile
To one who hasn't done so in such a long while
I know because that one was me
Until my daughter's laugh set mine free

A child's laughter so gleeful and pure
An innocence adults miss for sure
Laughter that can bring back the past
And memories of a youth that flew by so fast

A child's laughter can bring out the best
Of most any man when he's depressed
Cause his spirit that's fall to soar
Until at last he laughs once more

Why Not Smile?

Frowning makes you drown
In a sea of forgetfulness,
A vast, deep sea renowned
For sucking in your happiness.

Memories of gleeful times
Fade away like a bell's chime,
In the swift motion of waves
That quietly cleaves.

So why not smile?

While a frown brings sorrow,
A smile opens up a bright tomorrow.
Life does not go and come around twice.
It only occurs once, so be wise.

Smile at the morning sun
Smile at the wonderfully painted skies
Smile at the glittering stars

Grand-Pa's Whim

While for me gapes the greedy grave
It don't make sense
That I should have a crazy crave
To paint our fence.
Yet that is what I aim to do,
Though dim my sight:
Jest paint them aged pickets blue,
Or green or white.

Jest squat serenely in the sun
Wi' brush an' paint,
An' gay them pickets one by one,
--A chore! It ain't.
The job is joy. Although I'm slow
I save expense:
So folks, let me before I go,
Smart that ol' fence.

Them pickets with my hands I made,
When young and spry;

Because We Are Going

Because we are going from our wonted places
To be task-ridden by one shattering Aim,
And terror hides in all our laughing faces
That had no will to die, no thirst for fame,
Hear our last word. In Hell we seek for Heaven;
The agony of wounds shall make us clean;
And the failures of our sloth shall be forgiven
When Silence holds the songs that might have been,
And what we served remains, superb, unshaken,
England, our June of blossom that shines above
Disastrous War; for whom we have forsaken
Ways that were rich and gleeful and filled with love.
Thus are we heroes; since we might not choose
To live where Honour gave us life to lose.

A Heartfelt Smile

Your smile in this ambient grace
Her refulgence here sets aglow
While many still prefer to frown
To douse every flicker and glare

And your unfeigned smile grants
Her brilliance each morn' sprang
After my nights a glitter starved
Your smile, duly welcome prayed

Others their feigned smile dole
Hidden frowns beneath a wave
Yours unpretentious and brave
Set to compose a troubled soul

Her genuineness is illuminating
Real, heartfelt and invigorating
To set aflame my slothful spirit
Effuse inspiration without limit

Who but could—the saints preserve us, resist her...

Here; alone lying on this cotton pillow.
I can still recall the lure of her lily scent:
Bouquets do me gaze and camphor and shadow...
Never a dull moment does the heart repent:

Her fragrance, what; a promiscuous, allure.
Such elicit essences spring ajar the dart...
What an art this palpable kiss velour.
How it courses through my head and lonely heart...

Then swept-on bye with brocades of flower
Spent-fallen, from Piety, a honey-suckle,
Vine; twisting around, the Lover’s Lane Larkspur.
Who in the world could be gleeful, yet; still bashful?

Who but could—the saints preserve us, resist her.
Maybe; only the “Morning Star her goddess sister”.

Plebeian Plutocrat

I own a gorgeous Cadillac,
A chauffeur garbed in blue;
And as I sit behind his back
His beefy neck I view.
Yet let me whisper, though you may
Think me a queer old cuss,
From Claude I often sneak away
To board a bus.

A democrat, I love the crowd,
The bustle and the din;
The market wives who gab aloud
As they go out and in.
I chuckle as I pay my dime,
With mien meticulous:
You can't believe how happy I'm;
Aboard a bus.

The driver of my Cadillac
Has such a haughty sneer;

If fate declines

If fate declines my wish to be
with such a gleeful entity
then I will break my destiny
to follow you eternally

If fate rejects my plan to stay
within your side by night and day
then by own strength I’ll pave my way
to your presence, never away

If fate grants not my only dream
of being all for your esteem
then with my love, a forceful steam
I’ll try be your own cherubim

So if fate will still disregard
I’ll be pursuing and try hard
and stare not in the night sky starred
I’ll make them “yes” with my last card
