I live in Little India

dawn in Little India unfolds
from the sanctum of the Lotus
petal by petal of spiritually
inches and spreads around our heart as
as the sun rises from the palm
of the Almighty colouring the sky
with his shades of blessings
like the Hindu Gods blue,
green, red, and yellow on their chariots
screening the splendour of heavens
buddhist temple bell chimes right at six,
after the call of the mosque azan
when there is a hindu festival
the nearby shrine where Kali manfiests
the frightening scale of her character
a red blood tongue lengthy enough
to draw a thousand questions
from passers of her divinity
one of the few Hindu goddesses to whom
you can slaughter an animal to please her

Your Family Is Your Responsibility. Be Responsible!

Our village roads are not tarred and concreted,
Red soiled paths leveled and polished by our foot prints,
Our Highways are better, but built by the foreigners,
The town roads are the worst with potholes and hanging wires,
Someone dig the roads for something and leave it,
The people of India walk on the roads as it is,
The way to live the life, in the pitiful style and manner,
Everyone speaks, everyone knows, but no one bothers,
Summer is the time for the nuclear plant of universe to scotch,
At the people of India, who live in huts and slums,
Less than eight feet high to keep the house cool,
Dried Thatched roof allow the rain and light,
People gather the disposed plastics to seal and hide,
Persistent sun rays pierce through the plastic sheets,
Life is not tough for the people who have these abode,
As they have no time to think and cry of their grief,
When the tough life is the real life for them and many,
Tougher they are, to face the challenging destiny,
People on the roads, sea of heads walk with a purpose,
I do not know what that purpose is, but everyone busy,

A Summary History of Lord Clive

About a hundred and fifty years ago,
History relates it happened so,
A big ship sailed from the shores of Britain
Bound for India across the raging main.

And many of the passengers did cry and moan
As they took the last look of their old home,
Which they were fast leaving far behind,
And which some of them would long bear in mind.

Among the passengers was a youth about seventeen years old,
Who had been a wild boy at home and very bold,
And by his conduct had filled his parent's hearts with woe,
Because to school he often refused to go.

And now that he was going so far away from home,
The thought thereof made him sigh and groan,
For he felt very sad and dejected were his looks,
And he often wished he had spent more time at his books.

I Discover The World In India

red vermillion streaked hair
a red wattled lapwing
orange, same time each day, sunrises and sunsets
yellow and black taxi colours, yellow temple flags, bright yellow confectionery shops, yellow bright fragrant perfume shops
green lush city pot plants, green lush country side
light blue warm skies, light blue cool cabs
indigo blue dupattas, turbans
navy blue trains, absence of starchy navy blue suits
sexy, pink, curved, massive majestic palaces, pink film posters
gold and glass chhum chhummy bangles
one purple TV happily watched by hundreds of labourers, purple crow sounds
gold chhum chhummy payals
white nehru jackets, pyjamas and kurtas, white cracking paint on grand old victorian buildings, white floor seating
_______
I discover

white clear eyes, white teeth behind white greetings
gold namastes
purple glee at fairs, purple glee when trying new technology and at receiving smallest of gifts
gold helping hands

How Poor

How poor we are
How poor our India.
We are not ok
India tired
India shattered.
Where to go
How to go
It is not known
And it is not known
How poor how

Great Teachers

I salute to great teachers of ancient India
For their achievement and dedication to the services of mother India
We are greatly indebted and honor the sons of India
Bow our head for their rich cultural heritage left for future India

Think of a life without contribution from teacher
In fact he is our guide and leader
Best friend and face reader
Never his profession was made as trader

So is the glorious day
We must celebrate today
Pay the tribute to all those people
Who did glory and took us out of trouble

Today we are at top of position
With their nice contribution
We owe a lot to salute and remember
They are formidable part of our life and member

Mahatma Gandhi

A great person of peace,
Who to all wars called a cease,
And who prevented bloodshed,
And who India to freedom led.

A lawyer who was in Africa,
And who racial discrimination saw,
He solved the problem there,
And then, he, Indian problems laid bare.

He fought using non-violence,
In senseless people he put sense,
He led India to greatness,
And he India thus did bless.

He pushed the British out of our land,
To the ordinary people he lent a hand,
A greater person never did walk this earth,
To a greater person never did India give birth.

Golden Bird, Painted Black

From beginning I heard
India was a golden bird,
Mughals, Britishers arrived
Looted wealth and destroyed

As she had wealth natural
Precious stones and pearl
Real gold, range of mineral
And knowledge of spiritual.

Hard work of noble citizens
Has mounted wealth again
But many citizens still feel pity
They are to live below poverty.

The amount involved in scams
Amount brought to Swiss bank,
Can run India totally tax free,
Not less the decades of three.

The Dearest Daughter Of Mother India

The dearest daughter of Mother India

You are the queen of inimitable stature
None can describe your real feature
You led a holy fight
Against the British might

You are known for your incomparable valour
And have reached heavenly parlour
The noblest daughter of mother India
A horror and terror to the wicked East India

You rode on a white horse
None could stop your force
you were the divine source
your sword was resplendent ofcourse

You are invincible in warfare
For your life you did never care
The woman of Golden will
