Quotes about plop, page 3

Do You Know Anything About Crows?

crows steal eggs from another nest,
plop them on the ground and then feed,
it's pretty basic what they do,
they take from others what they need.

many an egg has been dropped in these times,
and I'm not talking about nickels and dimes,
so many nest eggs ripped from those trying to save,
the market place, an infantile grave.

who are these crows that steal?
what real estate of theirs is real?
computerized theft is such a sight,
when crows operate in broad day light.

Love In The Air

The moonlight shimmered on the water
of a small woodland stream.
We sit on the bank,
watching moonbeams dancing
on the growing ripples on the water,
from the pebbles that we throw.
The sound of the wise old owl,
and the rustle of the leaves
ruffled by the breeze.
The plop of our pebbles
dropping into the stream,
and our two hearts beating,
as we sit together
with arms around one another
underneath the moon.
We sit there enjoying
the love that is in the air.

This Just In

Seems the TVs are spoiling the children,
Wide screens to baby-sit and console.
No worlds to explore,
Beyond the back door,
No life outside of remote control.

Now, the TVs are teaching the children,
Substitute guidance: Just sit and watch.
They plop and they slouch,
Entranced on a couch,
No time to read or to play hopscotch.

Yes, the TVs are raising the children,
Kids stare at the screens until dizzy.
At times they’ve become,
The nannies to some,
As the parents are just too BUSY!

He

When belief and love set on fire
Tears plop down from the sky
With pain and sorrows
Hoping best for tomorrows…

Sacred rain makes all bright
And brings in all belief of light,
Make all living things dance
And release them from penance…

The sky becomes azure
And the fragrance emits
When sacred drops and love
And graciousness remits…

Divine blessing showers
On us with rain and powers,
Lightning strikes like stones
With Clamoring cold tone…

Frog Prince

look at the frog so small and cute
top to tail in his green suite
never dry not always wet
every child wants one for a pet

only the newt for a friend
swim in the pond from end to end
deep under water breath held tight
look at him swim such a delight
hear him call all through the night
a prince in waiting a king by right

leaping high jumping long
for his size he is so strong
from lilly pads he loves to hop
as he hits the water plip plip plop

see him catch the fly swallow swallow
with a blink of his eyes gobble gobble
look at the frog so small and cute

ET Came To Breakfast (Fun Poem 10)

My breakfast was going snap, crackle and pop,
when suddenly in the chair opposite something went plop.
I looked across the table and was astonished to see,
a little green man looking at me.
I blinked a couple of times,
even pinched myself to make sure it was real.
He was, you can believe,
and my breakfast he was trying to steal.
We pulled at the bowl,
no one getting the upper hand,
and then he stuck his finger in the bowl,
and sucked out the blinking lot,
milk and my snap, crackle and pop.

The moral of this story.
If a little green man comes to breakfast,
Get an extra bowl.

Sun & Soup

You hold the spoon
over the tureen

watching the soup
drip back with a plop.

You know Francis
will enter soon,

and stand watching
over you, him being

master of the kitchen,
wondering if you had

dipped your finger
and tasted the soup

with your tongue
and say, I hope you

The Jungle Husband

Dearest Evelyn, I often think of you
Out with the guns in the jungle stew
Yesterday I hittapotamus
I put the measurements down for you but they got lost in the fuss
It's not a good thing to drink out here
You know, I've practically given it up dear.
Tomorrow I am going alone a long way
Into the jungle. It is all grey
But green on top
Only sometimes when a tree has fallen
The sun comes down plop, it is quite appalling.
You never want to go in a jungle pool
In the hot sun, it would be the act of a fool
Because it's always full of anacondas, Evelyn, not looking ill-fed
I'll say. So no more now, from your loving husband Wilfred.

Sonnet Too

Sonnet.
I touched upon a dream perfectly chorographic
as a ballet troupe of sardines avoiding predators.
A dance where no one applauds and everyone
is a loser, sad except for the mysterious beauty
of shimmering silver in a bottle- green ocean.

I touched upon a dream sparkling as fizzy wine
bobbles clung to cool glass disappearing with
plop- a momentarily rush of happiness- murmour
of voices; then the wine was still, yet for a second
the of mysterious wonder is remembered.

I touched upon a dream cold as a winter forest,
blue, frosty mist wrapped around trees; layers
of snow on the lake of recollection, but one day
a mysterious flash; and all will be remembered.

It Is Best to Be Cautious

Some folks believe they benefit,
By protecting their insecurities.
As if they are hidden.
And others can not see.
Or know those insecurities,
Have a life of their own.
And have been given the 'authority'
To express themselves!
And publicly breathe.

But when those insecurities,
Begin to plop on another's integrity...
There is no sense to defend them.
Feelings once spared,
Are no longer given a chance.
And egos become wounded.
And those romanced exaggerations,
About life...
Become stung,
By someone who intends to deliver...
