Quotes about sear, page 3

To Ligurinus

O Cruel fair,
Whose flowing hair
The envy and the pride of all is,
As onward roll
The years, that poll
Will get as bald as a billiard ball is;
Then shall your skin, now pink and dimply,
Be tanned to parchment, sear and pimply!

When you behold
Yourself grown old,
These words shall speak your spirits moody:
'Unhappy one!
What heaps of fun
I've missed by being goody-goody!
Oh, that I might have felt the hunger
Of loveless age when I was younger!'

A Look at the Night Sky

Oh night sky, why taunt me?
Your beauty can only mesmerize.
With your lids open for all to see
And the night chariot on the rise.
I stare into you, waiting
Though I feel as if you cannot hear
All the stars, explosive in mating
And my heart begins to sear.
Answer me, oh night sky
You're the escape I need
I don't want to live nor die
But pain causes me to bleed
Still, still I cannot help but love
And so I live, taking my form of a dove.

Heat of a Woman

The heat of a woman rising in lust
To bring flames to life turning men to dust
The heat that can burn, scorch and sear
When ever the man gets to near
But if a man survives the flames
The passion she shows will drive him insane
Locked in a timeless ecstasy
With no escape none he can see
Would he want to run away?
Diving in deeper with his soul he must pay
Of all the passions of women unbound
It’s the passion of lust that brings men down

7th February 2012

I was a year older on Tuesday,7th February 2012;
And, you were a year older on the same day!
Day, ray, say, tray, bray, bay, pray, play, May, way, away;
But this poem is dedicated to you my friend.
Date, mate, late, rate, hate, bate, gate, crate, pate, sate, state;
For, the occasion also reminded me of your love!
Year, ear, hear, sear, tear, wear, bear, dear, fear, gear, spear;
And like the ways of life around us! !
But, this poem is dedicated to you.

In Excelsis Deo - A Surrealist Carol For Madrigal Choir To Be Sung While Bathing 2

.
Later revision

Hair of soap
and head of tears
Rinse mine eyes
of Christmas stars

O Bells, the Bells sear me.

Rinse mine eyes
of Christmas stars
Water me hot
and redly rare

O Fey, the Fey stars blear me.

Water me hot
and redly rare
Scald me pinkly

Voice

And I lay still and snow dust
is burning my skin.
Snow dust is burning to me,
burning never burning out
Orange
Orange
a grey moon.

And I am becoming strings
strings of violas
guitars
violoncellos;

Strings of all
string instruments
when they are searing me
starting to sear me
like orange
like orange
and before I become

Cheery Beggar

Beyond Mágdalen and by the Bridge, on a place called there the Plain,
In Summer, in a burst of summertime
Following falls and falls of rain,
When the air was sweet-and-sour of the flown fineflower of
Those goldnails and their gaylinks that hang along a lime;
. . . . . . . .
The motion of that man’s heart is fine
Whom want could not make píne, píne
That struggling should not sear him, a gift should cheer him
Like that poor pocket of pence, poor pence of mine.

Lines To A Withered Leaf Seen On A Poet's Table

Poet's hand has placed thee there,
Autumn's brown and withered scroll!
Though to outward eye not fair,
Thou hast beauty for the soul,

Though no human pen has traced
On that leaf its learned lore,
Love divine the page has graced,—
What can words discover more?

Not alone dim Autumn's blast
Echoes from yon tablet sear,—
Distant music of the Past
Steals upon the poet's ear.

Voices sweet of summer hours,
Spring's soft whispers murmur by;
Feathered songs from leafy bowers
Draw his listening soul on high.

America Post 911

Land of freedom
Land of war
Land of peace
There you are
America!
Land of spirit truth and grace
Land that will never quit the race
May you fight until you're done
Because the battle has not yet been won
America!
Land of the beautiful
Land of the free
Bring the enemy to his knees
May his conscience sear his soul
Till the bell of victory tolls
America!
This is America land of the brave
Though you hurt us our banners continue to wave
High above the skies our spirits soar
As we replace future's door

Clay Woman

Clay woman, baked too long
Stone cold, deep red, stand
Clay woman, heat too high,
Brittle with the remnant demand
Too long in the kiln
Not set at bake but sear
Scorched beauty remains,
But not a breath be near
Can't breathe too hard,
Clay woman may turn to dust
Can't look too long
For clay woman may combust,
And above all else,
Do not touch her heart,
Her back will break,
Her wounds will smart,
Clay woman, baked too long
All hope and joy abstains,
Clay woman, heat too high
Can my tears salvage my remains?
