Tango In Argentina
Tango in Argentina
It was eons ago, in Buenos Aires, many of us around a table at a cafe
I can’t remember why I was there think it was something to do with
buying race horses. A woman asked me up to dance I first declined,
shyness is my bane, after prodding I trotted up on the dance floor.
The band played a tango, not that I hadn’t dance before, mother was
a dance teacher, something happened, I forgot about my timidity
just danced floating on a cloud of pleasure. We’re alone on the floor,
when the music stopped, applause. Back at our table dad gave me
a glass of wine, the dream continued. I wanted to marry Dona Juanita,
my dancing partner; dad said no, she was married and too old for me.
But I have never since been able to emulate the magic of the moment
When I see a colt galloping across the pampas I know of the physical
pleasure it feels, once it was me feeling exuberant and timeless in
a world of everlasting youth.

Rudi And Me Doing The Tango
I watch dancing on TV – So You Think You
Can Dance and Strictly Come Dancing, and I
dream – that is Rudi and me doing the tango,
there we go, entranced in a dreamy waltz, here
we come in an exciting Bossa Nova, then we
do a fast Foxtrot, Rudi is laughing at me, he
says he would never dance like that, sway his
hips, playing tricks, I pout and say I want to
dance again with him; so he waltzes me to his
bedroom, he says the only dance he really likes
is a tango for two flat in bed, when he gets to
feed his eyes, lips, hands and tongue on his
partner’s gyrating body parts, he makes me
laugh; I bite at him and complain it’s not a
dance when lying down, he says I asked for
it and drags me off into the kitchen where he
exhibits his culinary skills and gourmet taste
in quite a novel way, given the main dish is
me, Louise Tredoux, the Pastor’s daughter,
oh, how I’ve fallen from quiet religious con-

BlackOp
BlackOp
by Ted L Glines
Wet activity with no explanations
is the stock-in-trade of black operations.
Romeo and Juliet walking in the park,
just a tourist couple out for a lark,
there - on a bench - sits Papa - the boss,
this is one wet mission where we'll suffer no loss.
Romeo and Juliet - the best in fact
will never win an Oscar for their act,
always moving like a shadow in a dream,
simply known as the 'Alpha Team.'
'Charlie saw the Zulu, ' message on the phone,
meaning 'Charlie' would die - toppled from his throne.
Keshandra Shah had refused to parley
so now he was given the code name 'Charlie.'
Papa gets up and walks away,
his paper left laying on display,
two 'beta' capsules taped inside,

Prosaic
If poetry’s pronounced prosaic,
like Prozac thought to be archaic,
prescribed for those who are depressed,
with prose preferred by all the rest,
should I consider that I’m dated,
out-rhymed and out-alliterated
by cruel haters of all verse
who poetry pooh-pooh and curse,
especially the rhyming kind
to which prose preachers are unkind
more than to verse so free it looks
like prose that’s printed in their books?
Of course I’m dated, but so what?
Prose writer is what I am not
by birth or inclination, so forgive
the way I write so I can live
with meter, rhyme, and let me scan,
though I am an archaic man,
and keep you daily up to date

Tango The Night
Schwung gepflegt Im spare
Mit champagner ein coupl
Nur deine leidenschaft
Der leib
Die glut
Die kraft
I kiss your lips
I hold you tight
Your bodys swaying in the pale moonlight
We dance until the break of day
Well tango the night away
Ol
Was weit denn du, was liebe ist
Wenn alles du beim tanz vergit
Nur deine leidenschaft
Der leib
Die glut
Die kraft
I kiss your lips
I hold you tight

Its Not The Night
Its not the night
For foolin
Its not the night
For crazy eyes
I get the feelin
You want to stay
I get the feelin
Youre givin it all away
But I know
I know you take it well
And for you
For you I always fell
Its not the night
(its not the night)
For, for sweet revenge
Its not the night
(its not the night)
To spend
The time is right
To take it out

It Takes Two To Tango
It's true, yes it's true
I'm as guilty of the sin as you
I lived through it too
And as you can see it didn't hurt me
You must admit, you helped a bit
It takes two to tango
You know i wasn't alone
It takes two to tango
I remember it still
Drink a toast if you will
This is for the girls who just couldn't see
That my only sin was being me
And this one's for the girls and they know who they are
It's so long ago and i don't know
Now i don't recall all the details of the scene at all
But i had a ball
And learned all the games, forgot all the names
You must admit you learned a bit
This is for the girls who couldn't understand
What it's like to try to be a man

Letter From The Wastland
Now coming down
From out of this swan dive
To your arms
I make no sounds
When I move through your reservoir
But I wake up quick
And I wake up sick
As you abandon me
Into these fields of rank and file
Through this crowd
I hear you breathing
And through these bars
I watch them bring more in
Now I send back letters
From the wasteland home
Where I slow dance
To this romance on my own
It may take two to tango
But boy, just one to let go
It's just one to let go
