Quotes about amen, page 4
Today... 'The Amen
We end our prayers by saying Amen.
It is our hearts response again and again.
You are the answer to all that we bring to God
for a life of prayer was the path You trod.
'Amen. So let it be' our spirit cries as we rejoice.
Speak Lord for today we need to hear Your voice
and obey the commands we see in the Book of Life
keeping close to You avoiding schisms and strife.
Oh Faithful and True Witness from heaven above.
Ruler of God's creative work and Lord of love.
We hear Your voice speaking to the church Oh Lord
and submit to the command of The Great Amen of God.

The Grounding
'and in he came with the sunshine, making my whole
world light up and every hour, every day, every month
was like a moment filled with joy and peace…..and I sat upon
the ground and gave praise, praise to the Lord …..' exclaimed
the preacher.
The boy at the back of the great hall sat quietly, busily picking his
nose, all the time contemplating which one of the girls
two plaits to cut off with the big red scissors he'd taken
earlier that day from his teachers desk.
'Amen' said the preacher.
'Amen' said the congregation.
'Amen' muttered the boy with the girls plait in
his grubby little hand.
and so endeth the sermon for that day.

Given A Separate Life To Live
This has to be 'divine' intervention.
And so happy I am you called,
To bring my activities to 'my' attention.
You know,
Just this morning I awakened...
With just this one thought on my mind.
I thought...
How can I be of more use to those,
In the catering to their self-centered ways.
And no sooner had I finished my questioning...
Here you are,
Telling me I have nothing else to do anyway.
Why should I object to fulfilling your requests?
This has to be 'divine' intervention.
And so happy I am you called,
To bring my activities to 'my' attention.
And...
I will be giving more of my attention,

Tether Thou Servant’s Enemy: Thou Mightiest Jehovah!
“We thee accused; do remember
how spellcast ill-fated; it all began.
Dark words Serpent spoken;
black-hearted witch softly sang!
Within coded drawn confines;
approximating appointed circle.
Candles wax wax drawith down;
flickering time; recede; demise!
Palpitating protraction pauses;
increases; tapers; tapping times.
Turn run ruin; ruin; wash; washout;
precipitate purloined past dissolvent!
We thee Witch accused;
remember how it all began.
Witch Witch Witch Demon;
descendant divining Satanic Son!

Bible in Poetry: Revelation 22
The River of Life:
1 And then the angel showed to me
The river of water of life,
As clear as crystal, and which flowed,
From the throne of God and the Lamb,
2 And down the city’s middle street.
On either side of river stood,
Tree of life, with twelve crops of fruit,
And yielding fruit on every month.
The leaves of tree healed all nations.
3 No longer will there be a curse.
The throne of God and of the Lamb
In city, and servants serve Him.
4 They’ll see His face then directly;
His name will be on their foreheads.
5 There will be no more night at all.
They will not need a lamp-light’s help,
Nor light of sun, for God gives light.
And they will reign forever, ev’r.

A Song of Honour
I climbed a hill as light fell short,
And rooks came home in scramble sort,
And filled the trees and flapped and fought
And sang themselves to sleep;
An owl from nowhere with no sound
Swung by and soon was nowhere found,
I heard him calling half-way round,
Holloing loud and deep;
A pair of stars, faint pins of light,
Then many a star, sailed into sight,
And all the stars, the flower of night,
Were round me at a leap;
To tell how still the valleys lay
I heard a watchdog miles away,
And bells of distant sheep.
I heard no sound of bird or bell,
The mastiff in a slumber fell,
I stared into the sky,
As wondering men have always done
Since beauty and the stars were one

Bible in Poetry: Gospel of St. Matthew (Chapter 26)
Then Jesus told His disciples,
‘’Twill be Pass-ov’r in two days’ time;
The Son of Man will handed be
Over to them who crucify! ’
So, chief priests and all elders there
Assembled in Caiaphas’ palace.
They consulted with the high priest
On how to arrest Jesus by
Treachery and put Him to death.
They decided not to do so,
During the festival-time as
A riot, people could then cause.
In Bethany, while Jesus was
Within Simon, the leper’s house,
There came a woman with a jar
Of costly, perfumed oil and poured
It on his head while he reclined.

A Cradle In Bethlehem
Sing sweet and low a lullaby, till angels say Amen.
A mother tonight is rocking a cradle in Bethlehem.
While wisemen follow through the dark, a star that beckons them.
A mother tonight is rocking a cradle in Bethlehem.
A little child shall lead them, the prophets said of old.
And storm and tempest heed them until the bell is tolled.
Sing sweet and low your lullaby, till angels say Amen.
A mother tonight is rocking a cradle in Bethlehem.
Sing sweet and low your lullaby till angels say Amen.
A mother tonight is rocking a cradle in Bethlehem.
