Quotes about pater, page 4

Where bells no more affright the morn
112
Where bells no more affright the morn—
Where scrabble never comes—
Where very nimble Gentlemen
Are forced to keep their rooms—
Where tired Children placid sleep
Thro' Centuries of noon
This place is Bliss—this town is Heaven—
Please, Pater, pretty soon!
"Oh could we climb where Moses stood,
And view the Landscape o'er"
Not Father's bells—nor Factories,
Could scare us any more!

The Backward Glance
The youngest of the progeny from
the noble souls long since gone
The one propounding freewill
since metamorphosis has undergone
Got bequeathed with older siblings,
having perspectives gone awry
He stuck with convictions and
unsolicited advice did forever decry
The past love got embroiled in naiveties,
to be carried along the surge
He kept questioning the rationale
but no answers did ever emerge
A bundle of joy from the earlier union
became apple of pater's eye

In Your Sleep
In your sleep
Brando was alive again
playing an old wild one
with leather jacket
and slippers,
riding a three wheeled scooter,
and Marilyn Monroe
promised to kiss you
if you could recite
a Dylan Thomas poem
in French or Latin,
and your father came
in the dark robes of death
carrying the grey ashes
of your first burnt poem,
and Ezra Pound made a visit

Ad Lesbiam, Cat. Ep. 73
AD LESBIAM, CAT. EP. 73.
Dicebas quondam, solum to nosse Catullum,
Lesbia, nec prae me velle tenere Jovem;
Odi et amo; quare id faciam, fortasse requiris;
Nescio; sed fieri sentio, et excrucior.
ENGLISHED.
That me alone you lov'd, you once did say,
Nor should I to the king of gods give way.
Then I lov'd thee not as a common dear,
But as a father doth his children chear.
Now thee I know, more bitterly I smart;

The Fornicator
Ye jovial boys, who love the joys,
The blissful joys of lovers,
And dare avow wi' dauntless brow,
Whate'er the lass discovers;
I pray draw near, and you shall hear,
And welcome in a frater,
I've lately been in quarantine,
A proven fornicator.
Before the congregation wide
I pass'd the muster fairly,
My handsome Betsy by my side,
We gat our ditty rarely.
My downcast eye, by chance did spy
What made my mouth to water,
Those limbs so clean, where I between,
Commenced a fornicator.
Wi' ruefu' face, and signs o' grace,
I paid the buttock hire;

Johannis Trottii Epitaphium
Charissimo Filio &c.
Pater & Mater &c.
funebrem tabulam curavimus.
Age Marmor, & pro solita tua hxmanitate,
(Ne inter Parentum Dolorem & Modestiam
Supprimantur praeclari Juvenis meritae laudes)
Effare Johannis Trottii breve Elogium.
Erat ille totus Candidus, Politus, Solidus,
Ultra vel Parii Marmoris metaphoram,
Et Gemma Sculpi dignus, non Lapide:
E Schola Wintoniensi ad Academiam Oxonii,
Inde ad Interioris Templi Hospitium gradum fecerat:
Summae Spei, Summae Indolis, ubique vestigia reliquit;
Supra Sexum Venustus,
Supra Aetatem Doctus,
Ingeniosus supra Fidem.
Et jam vicesimum tertium annum inierat,
Pulcherrimo undequaque vitae prospectu,
Quem Mors immatura obstruxit.
Ferales Pustulae Corpus tam affabre factum

Poem: SATOR Squares
It’s very surprising that “SATOR Squares”
seem to appear everywhere
the mighty Roman army had gone;
can they together, really belong?
Can anyone else see
inside this puzzle’s mystery?
It’s been learned that it’s not a game
and a truth, always remains the same.
Known is the square’s earliest evidence –
Can it be a mere coincidence,
that it was found in a retired soldier’s home?
From one who had faithfully served Italy’s Rome.
The Naked Archeologist cracked this riddle,
by playing around with the letters of its middle.
Fairly revealing were some of its words,
whose interpretation were not fully obscured.
From analyzing all 5-lettered Latin palindromes,
it became clear; this particular grid stood alone.
The hidden phrases are now, no longer lost;
PATER NOSTER, “Our Father”, forms a cross;

Ogdenashical to amuse
I am a duck billed platypus
I very seldom make a fuss.
Though you will find if you tread on me
I can react most peevishly
Because you’ve made me furious.
Wallace Wart hog was not willing
unless he got the top billing.
Although he thought he was the best
he was much worse than all the rest
and never earned a single shilling.
Adalbert the alligator
had a sister but he ate her
Which was not the thing to do
but Adalbert had downed a few
He was chastised by his pater.
Anthony the armadillo
was a very funny fellow.

Edmundi Trotii Epitaphium
Charissimo Filio
Edmundo Trotio
Posuimus Pater & Mater
Frustra superstites.
Legite Parentes, vanissimus hominum ordo,

Statura justa, Forma virili, specie eximic,
Medio juventutis Robore simul & Flore,

Peregre profectus
Generosis Artibus Animum
Et exercitiis Corpus firmaverat.

32 Souls Plus One (repost)
April showers fell unseasonably cold @ VaTech,
that morning, the
dripping blood of a forfeited soul with selfish motives.
Chronically late Buddinsky laureate had stepped
in, elbowed-up to center-stage- words louder than
action- self-anointed arbiter branding him
'unfit' for class- passive lynching- his
