The Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Ng Yen Yen reminds me of the characters in the Chinese period Wang Mei Tiau movies. Indeed she loves to wear a colourful shawl over her Kebaya (Malay influenced blouses with fine embellishment at the edges that accentuate the waist and long skirts. The women in Wang Mei Tiau Chinese period movies cover up their physiques, legs and hands included, in lengthy costumes. Wang Mei Tiau movies were a hit in the 60s and movies like Liang San Pe and Zhu Ying Tai and Hua Mulan are known all over the Chinese world. We met at a media dinner at the Royale Chulan Hotel in Kuala Lumpur in 2009 to introduce Jean Todt as an
ambassador of Tourism.

Busy Cleaning Up Their Acts
Hasn't the time arrived,
For those accomplished in conniving tasks...
Of planting booby traps,
To catch people off guard...
A throwback to a childish past?
And what purpose is served,
When grown folks laugh?
Hasn't the time arrived,
For the ones who 'should' be mature...
To set aside their hiding behind masks,
With a demonstrating to those younger...

There Is An Artistry Applied
So much more is this,
Just a gathering of English words.
There is an emotional attachment to them.
With every period ending,
Each sentence that begins.
There is a process of selection.
With time taken to choose the best.
And keeping it simple for many to digest.
Giving consideration...
To those using microscopes,
For word usage to correct.
But a delight excites,
With a choice to test the minds...
Of those seeking to uncover something profound.

21 - Victorian Poverty
A period of extreme poverty of the lower working classes
As they worked to the death the rich sat politely on their arses
London’s poor tried to scrape a living doing jobs the devil created
As the rich sat at their windows laughing at the pitiful souls they hated
The poor would have sooner died than enter the poor houses control
As it was not fit to harbor a single living human soul
Small boys were used to clean narrow sooted chimneys
While in the coal mines children worked on their hands and knees
Although this golden age pioneered many useful inventions
Children privileged to go to school were whipped instead of detentions
And as the poor worked for a life at every waking hour
The rich covered their stench with perfume and wild flowers
The poor had nothing and hardly anything to eat
While the rich enjoyed tea and honey and sherbet lemon sweets
In Victorian London the poor just lived and died
The rich never really noticed the rich never really cried

healing power envy the exhausted fumes that
create the destruction of the ozone layer

Child in our home
It hurts most when dear one is lost
Mentally shaken, bodily broken and paying heavy cost
Lovely child has occupied beautiful mind
What a pain and agony when not to find

He was third child after marriage and I was thrilled
My heart was full of joy and completely filled

Little Tommy
A sting for new revenue,
Has affected...
Those chores that smothered 'children' do.
For promised cash payments!
And eliminate those 'I-owe-yous'.
In days of old...
Children did what they were told.
No payment did I get,
For washing dishes as expected.
Or taking out the garbage,
