a Country
How can we determine what a country is?
If everyone of us wants to bind
a different meaning to it? Finding our own salvation
our own destruction in it?
That it is a region wherein we exist,
have to make a living, a region that is differentiated for us,
obtained through a struggle in which a flag and anthem
have to bind together but at times rather divide
a place wherein we are born
or of which with time we have become children
which we recognize as our own
and from which we are inseparable,
is no new knowledge, but that life sprouts

REGION of damper and junk and tea,
Region of pastures wide!
The fairest spots in the world to me
Are out on the Lachlan Side.

The Ox tamer
IN a faraway northern county, in the placid, pastoral region,
Lives my farmer friend, the theme of my recitative, a famous Tamer of
Oxen:
There they bring him the three-year-olds and the four-year-olds, to
break them;
He will take the wildest steer in the world, and break him and tame
him;
He will go, fearless, without any whip, where the young bullock
chafes up and down the yard;
The bullock's head tosses restless high in the air, with raging eyes;
Yet, see you! how soon his rage subsides--how soon this Tamer tames
him:
See you! on the farms hereabout, a hundred oxen, young and old--and
he is the man who has tamed them;

Taken over by hatred
I don’t know why love has been taken over by hatred?
What makes us to believe in hard core’s philosophy and be led?
Why is it so that age old traditions have been on complete vane?
Why it causes sudden shock, agony, maltreatment and pain?
I think no one has an answer for explanation
The sacred relation has not been looked kindly in question
Somewhere there has been done honor killing
And somewhere shot down, hanged and shown as willing
Can any one term love as market commodity?
Is it the only treatment we meat out and term it as dirty?
Have you ever heard words used and hurled with abusive language?
Nothing helps us to prove as cultured entity in present age
I have watched same treatment from child age
Women dragged from their houses to face the carnage
The worst treatment on the name of their honor and pride
Where as there is much to claim for and nothing to hide!

'There is no place for cowards in jannat* (heaven)
'Islam never preaches hatred and loves to all even'

People are misguided and inhuman values are foolishly chased
'There will no place for all those who preach against values of religion'
Roared small girl who stood for as future light in region
She is Malal*, a fire brand activist, working for unity
Nation always stood for her selfless work and integrity
Staunch advocate and supporter for women education
Malal* is fighting for life and her survival is in question
She has been fired upon and bullet has pierced through
In her back bone to cost life for fighting the battle very true
Never liked by orthodox champions
She had to struggle and face the fanatics in region
