Shadows

The darkness holds many shadows
that tread softly in the night
and every stranger must beware
of those that lurk in shadows
with no good will to explore.
They stalk the innocent
whose hearts are warm and pure
extending what seems a friendly lure.
So stranger as you walk in peace
beware of where you tread
as those who would do you harm
lurk deep in the shadows
and crevices of your mind.
The demons that lay bare
your mortal thread
steal around in the shadows
where you tread.
Beware of the night dear stranger

Beware

beware, my son,
not all species are all like us.
not all creatures have learned to pray and be patient.
Not all know what waiting is all about.
Not all flowers bloom and understand
what buds are.
Not all rivers flow and know where the sea is.
Not every event knows the wisdom of destiny.
Beware my son, there is not much of us left
we who have read the lines of our palms
and understand the movement of the stars
we who respect the change of the seasons
and understand the reasons for changes
and transformations
not all caterpillars know about butterflies

The Soul Bound In Stone

children hide guard well
your dreaming soaring hearts
least the griffin swoop down

descending quickly fearfully
suddenly with a sweeping
tearing envious prey upon flight

sudden swift attack aerial attack
rapid raid movement sudden sortie
is vile attack upon innate imagination

children a griffin is a monster
with the head and wings of an eagle
and the body and tail of a lion

when you wrong a person
and you do not think of any reparation
when you think that you are happier
in your situation

beware

the furies come to take their revenge

As progression into the mind
Progresses further beyond
Eyes, the dreary eyes of blind,
The recesses of consciousness,
Static sureness, surety in law,

There remains the sticky slag of black bitterness
