Quotes about cursing, page 5
Words of Grace
Words that uplift another
Are words God blessed with grace
They leave the hearer feeling better
And show respect for the human race.
Words, not curses, bear eternal fruit
And multiply the goodness in life
These words should then be our pursuit
Not cursing words that will cause strife.

Handyman
If he were perfect, then
he wouldn't be
Dan the Handyman,
laying tile
in crooked rows,
painting windows shut,
installing commodes
that flush up.
If he were perfect, then
he wouldn't take jobs
that he can't do,
because if he did,
he wouldn't be
Dan the Handyman,

Beggar is close to God
Begging for something is a cut
That is made at the root of your ego.
Begging for food is the deepest cut.
A monk goes begging for food,
Where he feels pride, not humiliation.
A beggar knocks the door for food,
Cursing his fate, tasting the humiliation.
Ego is active in monk, dead in beggar.
Who will get quick salvation?

Just Kiddin' (blame Henny Youngman)
A lovely young lady
was pounding and cursing
at my hotel room door
The other night
The noise was alarming
And quite disarming
So I gave up
and turned on the light
She continued to wail
Continued to shout
no sleep was to be had
this night, no doubt
So I decided to aid
This ungrateful young maid
I finally got up…
And let the young lady…out

Magical and Angelic
Sailors’ voices
Cursing and laughing,
Beautiful girls
Walking in the gloaming,
Temptation’s winsome smile,
Adoration and affection,
Joyful and blissful expressions;
Life has a strong heartbeat cadence.
I run excitedly
On the path of desire
And impossible dreams;
I don’t mind failure,
I’m happy with every attempt
To attain the magical and angelic.

To Different People
it is about to rain
the clouds are dark and heavy
along the road
two people are quarreling
about their having forgotten
the umbrella
the goat is tied on the tree
and the cow is looking
for escape
when the rain falls
the driver of the car that got
stuck on the canal
is cursing
on the other side
the children are playing and shouting
they all love
the first rain of summer

The General
‘Good-morning; good-morning!’ the General said
When we met him last week on our way to the line.
Now the soldiers he smiled at are most of ’em dead,
And we’re cursing his staff for incompetent swine.
‘He’s a cheery old card,’ grunted Harry to Jack
As they slogged up to Arras with rifle and pack.
. . . .
But he did for them both by his plan of attack.

Nation of sun and sin,
Thy flowers and crimes are red,
And thy heart is sore within
While the glory crowns thy head.
Land of the songless birds,
What was thine ancient crime,
Burning through lapse of time
Like a prophet' s cursing words!
Aloes and myrrh and tears
Mix in thy bitter wine: -
Drink, while the cup is thine,
Drink, for the draught is sign
Of thy reign in the coming years.

Bullish
Who solicited with invitation,
The cursing of our values?
And when did they become worthless?
Even good dirt is used for top soil!
Without a blinking care...
Where did this sludge come from?
And who was given authority,
To put it there for the majority?
Too much concern,
Has been placed on 'bullish' markets!
And no one was prepared or equipped...
To rinse the streets many find now reek!

Effrontery
After scarring, the big gap
confronts a mascot.
The caster is telling a lie.
Under shock and anger
you start cursing the renegade truth.
Black windows now perceive the light.
Nobody wants to catch the dust now,
falling from the stars.
War of words comes to disarming of
wailing hands.
I reconcile with the setting sun.
Back and forth, back and forth
the unabashed, moves a bridal moon.
