Platinum
Shadows only shade,
Not produce a single light...
On a path one makes.
Seeking to hide behind those shadows,
May welcome more grunts to stunt...
With additional heartaches that come to break.
Get up and shine,
Like you're platinum.
Glow and radiate.
Get up and glisten.
Like a priceless diamond.
Gleam in the mix and celebrate.
Shadows only shade,
Not produce a single light...
On a path one makes.
Keep it there,

27 For 27th
Riddles and parables are like the sayings of a muse,
But how i hope to be there for this marriage;
Like the appitude of a beauty with the brightness of love.
27 for 27th when one is about to be married!
Of a joyful heart i do write this poem;
Like the writer's pen with you at times.
The date of an occasion,
Of riddles and parables to respect the muse;
But beauty baths you when the rhythms of the blues are all over you.
Love is like the roses that blooms,
And this is your day in the garden of love;
With the rhythms and the blues to debrief you like a teacher.
This is for your eyes only,
And try to live your life on this day to shine like a star!
Of the hint and the excitments that will swing you with love.
Elevated with the mix of the pleasure to crown 27 for 27th,
Like to say something very witty on that day;
So dance to your muse and,

Ode To The Cherry Blossom
I have grown up with this tree,
as my father had grown with it,
and his father before him.
The cherry blossom tree where I was first exposed to the beauty of nature,
where my baby seat was set upon the picnic blanket in the grass,
and I could watch the petals fall and dance around me and my family.
and they would land in my seat,
and I would play with them.
The cherry blossom tree,
with its long branches,
where I first learned to climb,
and where I got my first broken bone,
after I slipped while pretending to be a monkey.
The cherry blossom tree,
where we had our first play date together.
We ran around and played two person tag,
and two person hide and seek,

12 Roses I Need To Say
I grab a rose that is number one
To show you that it is for fun
To have a girl that you can always have fun with
Not only someone to love but a friend also
To hang out and laugh
One is for fun
I grab a rose that is number two
To show you that it is so true
True love that is
True everything and much more
Nothing but true happiness
Two is for true
I grab a rose that is number three
To show you that it is for me
What you did to me

Chance Encounters
Life’s chance encounters may precipitate
Enchantment, steering shared, transparent course.
Triumph surfs strong currents. Longings' force
Sham obstacles can overcome, create
Eternity, where Time’s lease knows no date.
New dawn spawns hope, dissolving past remorse,
Despising compromise, pretentions coarse.
Fast, echoes of regret disintegrate,
Expelling fears, from tears emancipate.
As inspiration’s catalytic source
Revitalizes joyful intercourse,
Needs met beget seeds thriving, liberate
Open house where friendship, love, blend, bloom,
Where darkness fails, where light tips scales of doom.

A Sequence of Sonnets on the Death of Robert Browning
I1.
The clearest eyes in all the world they read
.
With sense more keen and spirit of sight more true
.
Than burns and thrills in sunrise, when the dew
.
Flames, and absorbs the glory round it shed,
.
As they the light of ages quick and dead,
.
Closed now, forsake us: yet the shaft that slew
.
Can slay not one of all the works we knew,
.
Nor death discrown that many-laurelled head.
.
The works of words whose life seems lightning wrought,
.

A Few Remarks on Goats, Asses and the Dead Hand
I don't mind kings and dukes and things;
I don't mind wigs or maces;
I don't mind crowns or robes or gowns
Or ruffles, swords or laces
But what I do object to, and some others more than I,
Are the mad old, bad old practices these baubles signify.
Good friends, brother Australians and fellow voters;
I think that you will agree with me that few of us are doters
Upon the customs, practices, fooleries and tommyrotics of the mouldy past;
Nor are we apt to cast
A reverent eye behindward upon ancient precedent:
Nor do we consent
To let the cold, clammy and unusually muddling Dead Hand
Control the destinies of this our native land.
Nay, rather do we stand
Tiptoe upon the summit of the Present, peering out,
With faces eager and expectant eyes, into the mystic Future. Have you a doubt
That in Progress, Business-like Procedure, Common-sense Habit, and Up-to-Date

Ive Got A Date With A Dream
Mack gordon / harry revel
Ive got a date with a dream
A dream divine
Ive got a date with a dream
Who may be mine
Ive got to hurry and dress
To meet him at seven
When any old corner becomes a corner
Of heaven, blue heaven
Im gonna dance with a dream
Well dance on air
Im gonna speak to a dream
And tell him I care
And when the evening is over
Ill kiss him goodnight and then
Ill have a date with a dream
And meet him all over again

On Our Last Date
(floyd cramer/conway twitty)
It's over our love affair
Too late now i find i care
His sweet love no more i'll share
Now he's gone i'm alone
I was wrong should have known
Took me home on our last date
I search for a single way
To tell him what i had to say
I kissed him watched him walk away
Set him free foolishly destiny misery
Tragedy on our last date
Took the ring from my trembling fingers
Brushed a tear from my baby's eye
Walked away didn't know that
I'd soon miss him so
Guess i was too young to realize
So blind i couldn't see
How much he really meant to me
And that soon he would always be
