Quotes about facade, page 5

The Strong May Be Weak

When sorrow stabs a mind,
There’s so much it can find.

The strong may be the weak,
Hiding behind a façade they seek
To appear to be powerful
By causing others to be sorrowful.

Their weapons of hate and attack
Will only ricochet back
Further wounding their weakened mind
While forcing others farther behind.

Their weakness will start to fade
The moment in sorrow they’re not afraid
To view tenderness as something strong
And being a bully as always wrong.

The Festival Of Lights

Rows of lamps lit up the place.
My home was also covered with lights.
You feared the darkness leaving a trace...
Few candles at the gate would make it right!

Set out for lamps to meet the need of your eyes,
I walked through a world of darker night;
Where amidst noise, the plea of silence had to die
And starved faces with trembling hands stood upright.

While lighting up the facade, we remained unaware
About the darkness within, we didn't care.

Shatter

The still silence falls
A curtain, nay, a wall
To dampen all the noise
Of the gathered girls and boys
Not a thing is heard
Not a whisper, not a word
But a solemn symphony
Of silent harmony
Like a soundless breeze
Gliding in with ease
Falls the silent wall
Holding all in thrall…

Then laughter!
With a clatter!
Like a clang
Out it rang
From their lips
Laughter rips
Hoots and hollers

The Bottle of No Pain

An aching longing rips through my facade,
That numbing soothing medicine, the bottle of no pain
This liquid that calls for me to take a drink
Takes my poor hurt soul and rips it from reality
Helps a fellow not to think of all their responsibilities
Until that precious shield fades and
That forbidden reality kicks me in the face,
Oh, that longing grips for a sudden barricade,
Those desperate hands reach out for that shot of fake
Begging please, for no more pain.

Rehabbers

as one enters
fragmented;
to set aside, to separate
two personas quarreling
inside the same person.

as one meets
fragmented others;
to identify, to join
two persons reminiscing
outside their subdued personas.

and some would like to fix the mess
and some would like to mess with one more fix.

behind the facade
you can sense the fear
we do not wish to wake up
from our hesitant paralysis.

Hunger

The mirage fluttered like the rolls of colossus
As the lips and fingertips were engulfed
By the rapine of sensation and sedation
And it wilted the sinewy pillars to kneel
Now you are postured groveling
Inches from the pristine façade of the crowds
You picked up their crumbs, sever the cord
Tethering you to pride and prejudices
Just to dine with their swaying feet
Aren't we all famished?
This hunger dazes me.
But I am courteous enough not to
Bite the hands that fed me.

Cascading Sorrows

I look out the window
To see the clouds shed their tears
Painting everything in a gloomy color
As they pound on the earth’s surface
I open the window
To let the cold air brush my hair
It emphasizes my anguish
It highlights my despair
Stop pouring, oh rain
For my emotions
Have been, since long, buried in me
They hide behind a concrete wall
So, let it go, dear clouds
Move on like you normally do
For you will forget this soon
And will only see
The complacent façade

Homes

I am not blushing due to my home,
In this structure I do live.
This home is a scent and sense,
A link to the outside.
My blushing is of others, of rude strangers,
Who keep my home’s façade with dignity.
Home has a heavenly scent, suspense is in the ceiling,
The narrow corridors rely on spiders to clean the aura,
As cobwebs are so wonderful.
My faith is in the homes we build
For the rich and the poor,
The rich are in agony, and the poor savour
The air of the rooms they live in.

Thinking

Your elbow rests on the table
Your chin tangent to your
Fist your ears steady on some
Hints your eyes focused beyond
This wall this common obstruction
Of emotional camouflage
Your face is the façade
Of this serious edifice
Your nose smells something
Pungent and offensive
Your mind opens
Your heart tries to understand
Some winged and flapping
Gains momentum and then
Flies away to heights
Your mouth is as usual
Closed and your teeth grinds
There is no food or grain
Just air in between

Cryptic Lipstick

Some poems are simplistic
They don't wear cryptic
lipstick
They never try to force it
If the words don't fit their corset
They may don a facade
But they never try too hard!
They're not as flat as pancakes
They are natural and are not fakes
Some work it trips and crashes
If it's wearing false eyelashes
'up do's ' can look pretentious
Wear it messy, be adventurous
It would lose all of its passion
If poems followed fashion
Whether free flow, prose or rhyme
Wear it your way, it's looks fine
