4th of July
Ahh,4th of July
A wonderful holiday for everyone in America
Tis’ the day when we got independence finally!
Fireworks on display in the sky.
Bam, there goes a star!
Whoosh, there goes a flag!
Click, there goes a heart!
Man, its fun celebrating this holiday!
Awww, fireworks are over!
Oh well, can’t wait to see the next years’ fireworks!
I’m sure it’s going to top this years’ fireworks!
I’ll always love 4th of July no matter what.
Fireworks are surely the best of this holiday for it represents our freedom!

Fortune Smiles
Fortune smiles, cry holiday,
Dimples on her cheeks do dwell,
Fortune frowns, cry welladay,
Her love is heaven, her hate is hell:
Since heaven and hell obey her power,
Tremble when her eyes do lour,
Since heaven and hell her power obey,
When she smiles, cry holiday.
Holiday with joy we cry
And bend, and bend and merrily,
Sing Hymns to Fortune's deity,
Sing Hymns to Fortune's deity.
Let us sing, merrily, merrily, merrily,
With our song let heaven resound,
Fortune's hands our heads have crown'd,
Let us sing merrily, merrily, merrily.

Liquid Sunshine And Powdered Rain
When we go on holiday
we like to see a bright sun above,
but there are occasions when
we are treated to liquid sunshine and powdered rain.
Sometimes the seasons get mixed up
and summer comes late
and other times winter calls
in the middle of the year.
There are even times when
each season will visit us each day.
However when you are on holiday
you enjoy it without a care.
Early in the morning you get powdered rain
and by mid morning the liquid sunshine calls.
Before the evening falls
you feel the warm rays of the sun.

Fake Holiday
Cards
candies
stuffed animals
flowers
All of these are objects
objects that are bought
objects that are given
objects masking falsehood
Valentine's Day
it is suppose to be a holiday about love
about expressing that love
with things
Where is its background
what god/goddess inspired it
what event in history made this day
why do we celebrate Valentine's Day

Thankless Task.
Thankless Task.
Death never takes a holiday.
He has too long a waiting list.
He has to work twelve hours a day.
Because we humans will persist.
In fighting wars for no good cause.
We cannot learn to live in peace
We always think that sheer brute force
Will overcome our enemies..
It seems that we will never learn
violence begets violence
and hatred will hatred return
We seem bereft of moral sense.
When friendship can pay dividends.
Why human beings choose to fight
Make enemies instead of friends.

Christmas Cheer
This holiday season brings joy to hearts.
With the carolling of songs...
Delighting an open giveness that starts,
With a Christmas cheer that lures
Twinkling lights and tasteful sweet tarts
Endeared to endure.
This holiday season bestows reasons to live,
To forgive and forget with gifts we give.
Making Christmas what it should be...
Christmas remembered for what it is,
A time on Earth when a special child appeared!
Pine trees trimmed.
Topped with stars and angel wings.
Symbols enhanced to the dancing eyes,
Of children with hopes and dreams...
Of sleigh rides
Of reindeer
On rooftops with bells.

The Ghosts' High Noon
When the night wind howls in the chimney cowls, and the bat in the
moonlight flies,
And inky clouds, like funeral shrouds, sail over the midnight skies -
When the footpads quail at the night-bird's wail, and black dogs
bay the moon,
Then is the spectres' holiday - then is the ghosts' high noon!
As the sob of the breeze sweeps over the trees, and the mists lie
low on the fen,
From grey tombstones are gathered the bones that once were women
and men,
And away they go, with a mop and a mow, to the revel that ends too
soon,
For cockcrow limits our holiday - the dead of the night's high
noon!
And then each ghost with his ladye-toast to their churchyard beds
take flight,
With a kiss, perhaps, on her lantern chaps, and a grisly grim "good
night";

Getting Away
The sea, the sun, the sand and the surf,
The views, the dunes, the cliffs and the turf,
The peace, the calm, the rest and the play,
The delights and the pleasures of just getting away.
The suspense, the excitement, the expectation and the thrill,
A holiday you've chosen of your own freewill.
The journey, the jokes, the jalopy and the jams,
The scenes, the valleys, the hillsides and the dams,
The dates, the location, the venue and the place,
The packing and the lugging of an over packed suitcase.
The restaurants, the cafes, the menus and the wines,
A holiday that's chosen for it's beautiful coastlines.
The reversal, the reluctance, the returning and the rain,
The sadness, the leaving, the glumness and migraine,
The routine, the office, the stress and the low pay,
The memories and the highlights of a happy hideaway.
The searching, the saving, the booking and the price,
A holiday is chosen for next year, to be precise!

At Inverloch
The magpie's voice floated across the oval as the sun was warming in the summery sky
In what promised to be a beach day for many a few hours of sun and ocean to enjoy
At Inverloch its been said the sea is slightly warmer and the beach is never overcrowded there
And in a place that is free of pollution so good to breathe in the healthy ocean air.
At Inverloch a sea side Town in Gippsland life always goes on at a steady pace
And even in the height of the holiday season it never is an overcrowded place
Some families from the eastern Melbourne suburbs at Inverloch enjoy their holiday
They swim and on the wide beach play beach cricket and for a few weeks relax by the bay.
At Inverloch a two hours drive from Melbourne a place of peace and beauty by the sea
Life goes on at a steady pace as usual even in the holiday
month of January
The magpie's voice it floats across the oval as the family pack their lunch and flask of tea
For the five minutes walk that will take them to the wide beach for two hours of sun or maybe even three.

Holiday Guest
this holiday guest has so many names he uses
and i begin to wonder why.
and yet everyone says
he's one wonderful guy.
he brings presents to most children
and occasionally an adult or two.
and if you ask him why?
he says its something that he must do.
he receives letters from all over the world
thanking him for all he's done.
but! he lets them all know
that he's not the only one.
now! we are adults and parents
and we also were children
a long time ago.
we would jump and dance
and frolic in the snow.
