Quotes about impediment, page 5

As The Loveliest Diamond

Thou art, as the loveliest diamond:
The hardest 'substance' known to man-
To forget-even if I were prime, and
Accepted such, I do not know if I can.
Should I possess 1,000 lifetimes to do so,
And all manner of distraction along the way,
I would ne'er hope for this ardor to go-
And should it-I would surely rue the day
That this resplendent glory would have past,
From mine sight and be known by me, no more.

This, my beloved, is the hold thou hast
Upon me, and thou art all I ever could have hoped for-
Until that day when a 'flaw' was found:
One that you wished away, lest you have to face it.
Perhaps, this was not presented to confound,
But rather, as the most effective way to erase it,
Both as a source of fear and as an impediment
To what otherwise was amorous 'perfection';
Perhaps, its presentation was not yet meant

Take Your Time

Take your time, your dreams have not altered;
Take your time, to address what faltered
That caused you to let go of these aspirations;
Soon, you will discover many illusions
Were played by your then-afeared mind,
And that you would do well to leave them behind.

Trust in yourself, it will all come back into focus-
It is the natural order of things, not some hocus-pocus,
Merely the way that your life is supposed to be.
Gradually, you shall see again, as you were supposed to see-
Not clouded by undue fright and irrationality,
And that time is the best anti-dote for this failure's causality.
Time heals all, including a fear made very real
By confabulation, that caused you to feel
That there must be something to the impediment
That you placed in the way of your dreams and their embodiment.

Take your time, analyze it every step of the way;
Take your time, think for a moment, of the day

Love, In Spite Of Fear

I can love you in many ways and with much ardor,
But if you are too afraid to love me, it makes it that much harder;
With my love, I wish you the courage to love me, in spite of your fear-
With my love, I can pretend, in spite of miles, that you're near-
As near as my heart, always within arm's reach,
So that I may keep you safe-out of harm's reach!
It is entirely up to you whether to love me in return,
I do suspect, however, that you could very well learn,
If you listen to what your heart has told you;
Let the truth that only it may gift, mold you
And your actions, in spite of all your trepidation-
Embrace its presence, without a moment's hesitation.

Ask yourself: 'does this love meet all of my needs? ';
If so, follow this path wherever your heart leads,
No matter of fear, irrespective of impediment-
Love knows naught, but its own adorement!

Do not accept what I offer, because I offer it,
But do not give liberty to your heart, then coffer it

Hard To Forgive

Yes it is hard to forgive
As we have tendency to take more and less to give
Cause mental agony and pain than to provide relief
Very narrow thoughts for strengthening the belief

We should concentrate on what we are!
Our background, social status and shining stars
Lavish spending and movement in elegant style
Makes person to believe in arrogance for a while

It makes and strengthens to follow certain etiquette
Rest people are down trodden and stand no chance to equate
They have not only low thinking with cheap mentality
But poor living standard and inferior quality

It has given some sort of high level thinking
There is no fear that ship also can be sinking
This is one kind of intoxication and prove impediment
It may bring down person with no time for resentment

The Saga Of A Convict Lass

Such a nice girl
funny she never married.
Such a nice girl
money purchases only pearls.
Wisdom Sentimentality Sincerity.
Are free
inflating hearts that can be
above treacherous currents
embroiled
in bitter misty
dark green sea.

Past waves sucked out marrow
chilling chipped raw bones
stripping striped
flayed flesh.
Balsam rubbed in hardens
shuddering residual resistance.
As gashed groaning flesh
rigidly resists

0019 Anniversary

Today, no looking back and no regrets;
but simply, celebration..

The world turns round with awesome force, and tilts;
its axis, lawful - merciful or cruel -
spins silently its thread which weaves our lives
and adds a number to our earthshaped days;

And here I’m much intrigued
by Indian thought – if never to be proved, alas –
that this same soul or self has solemnly laid down
by previous actions in our previous life
the screenplay of our present life and its precise and
tempting, daunting racecourse, steeplechase,
hard ground and hedges, fences, walls and waterjumps…

set down with glorious intent that we
transcending, lay down in our turn
a further life, and life, and life
so near a glory in ourself, eternity

0031 Ted and Sylvia meet the marriage counsellor

‘Let me not to the marriage of true minds
admit impediment’ – and let me say
first of all, that I’m all for that…
but Dr Freud asked me if I’d call you in –
that is, invite you – for a little chat;
there’ll be no fee, of course…
Sylvia, would you sit over here,
and Ted, you over there?

I’ve read your case notes
which my secretary compiled, from
your previous poems – she’s quite
well-read; indeed, I believe she’s now applied
for a post with Mr. Eliot the poet…

Now I understand you’re both madly in love
and – ahem – can’t wait to ‘get at
one another’ as they say these days …
I guess the ‘Do not Disturb’ notice
may be there for days, ha ha?

In different environment

We work in different environment
It will be unadvisable to assert and comment
A female has entirely different domain
She has to live up to expectations and remain

As perfect human being it will be suiting to all males
It will ideal also to respect and honor the females
There are numerous starts in galaxy
The main position may not be occupied by many

She can be exemplary and educated
But she can’t be equaled or equated
She may be blessed with intelligence
Also possible with more brilliance

She has special position in every set up
It does not matter whether she is there to get up
Prepare tea and look after complete house
But it will be totally commitment and love to rouse

Ambrose Bierce

A Reply To A Letter

O nonsense, parson-tell me not they thrive
And jubilate who follow your dictation.
The good are the unhappiest lot alive
I know they are from careful observation.
If freedom from the terrors of damnation
Lengthens the visage like a telescope,
And lacrymation is a sign of hope,
Then I'll continue, in my dreadful plight,
To tread the dusky paths of sin, and grope
Contentedly without your lantern's light;
And though in many a bog beslubbered quite,
Refuse to flay me with ecclesiastic soap.

You say 'tis a sad world, seeing I'm condemned,
With many a million others of my kidney.
Each continent's Hammed, Japheted and Shemmed
With sinners-worldlings like Sir Philip Sidney
And scoffers like Voltaire, who thought it bliss
To simulate respect for Genesis
Who bent the mental knee as if in prayer,

Cleopatra’s glory

Cleopatra was the queen of Egypt;
Cleopatra was the queen of beauty.
She came to the throne at her eighteen
The first century BC witnessed it.

To get back her Egypt from her brother,
She sought the hand of Julius Caesar,
The mighty one Rome had ever seen,
And set to sell her asset of beauty.

While in exile, she was able to reach
Caesar when he chanced to visit Egypt,
By getting her smuggled in to his room,
Rolled up in a carpet sent as a gift

Cleopatra emerging from the roll,
Caesar was stunned and fell for her in love.
He made her queen of Egypt in no time
And made her his consort with all respects.
