The Sock

It was early one morning
When I heard something horrible close by snoring
There, on the floor by my bed I could see
A long dark strange shape, mouth open staring at me
I had to hold my nose the smell was so foul
And as I wondered what it was, it gave a growl
So quickly I grabbed a pillow and threw it hard
Only to miss it by more than a yard
This thing was fast that's for sure
Like lightning it moved to hide behind the door
To my surprise I soon discovered
That this thing was an animal like no other
I was indeed put in a state of shock
When I identified this terrifying animal as my sock
A sock that I had worn for many weeks
And had lost but not washed and badly reeked
How I was going to catch this rodent sock I had no idea
So sat in bed thinking until it disappeared
When there was no sign of the sock to be seen
I decided quickly to prepare the washing machine

Noble art of decision making is
an adaptation of an orderly

I Live For Only Fourteen Days

They say I live for only fourteen days
Not many know I can live longer
By another sixteen days
If people around turn kind
In this short life span
We grow, develop, and mature
Multiply in plenty
Eat well and to die at last
You may see us every where
In tropical countries
But not during night time
Our people are clear about our life style
We do not work more than twelve hours a day
As we do not keep awake more than that
We keep awake only to keep doing something
We are busy most of the time
Devouring all that you term waste
We do not nurse any great taste
As our hunger puts us ever in haste
We prefer liquid or semi solid food

A Wish At Seventeen

I've thought always of you as the wild rose in perfection of my garden,
So fresh and full of restive lightening,
Streaming from streets within coasting sky,
Where the angels at dusk abode,
accustomed by awesome breath of spring,
From the freshest bosom beneath.
My words are in count demised,
For your queenly voice at my drowsy soul elevate each at staring stand,
My dark dangerous eyes,
against the lightening pricks
at each sprawl of the sassy pedantic sun,
Longing in eternity to what your beauty's worth might behold
in the smiling face of the moon by the death of the day,
For yet, i bear what may look like you at each passing street in my teary heart,
For through this means, my gasping days are prolonged,
In this delight, i dispense glee in abundance of affectation,
At first, i thought i would fiery this through not having asked myself against the seeming odds knowing my regrets sail abroad,
My delusions now at your beckon stranded
and to mother nature behest
that this bond strengthens beyond the shores of perpetuity,

Germany played Spanish cucumbers
misdiagnosed source wrong songs
but EU's health commissioner criticized
Germany's 'premature conclusions'

misdiagnosed source of mass E-Coli outbreak
spread alarm among Europe’s public damaged
European wide agriculture sector but outbreak
was contained to a single relatively small area

let us stress that the E-Coli outbreak is limited
geographically to the area surrounding the city
of Hamburg therefore no reason exists to take
action on panic wide continental European level

measures against product are disproportionate
the problem is located in Hamburg Hamburg
naughty Germany incorrectly blamed Spanish
cucumbers but innocent Spain fierce protested

Abide By Teacher

I was abused literally and pushed aside by teacher
He was in rage to see me when I tried to enter
He might have some grievances in mind to nurture
As I was doing fare in studies and position was assured

I was really ashy boy but excellent in pick up
I heard attentively and was cheered with thumb up
His behavior as teacher made great impact in mind
I might have taken it lightly if he was harsh or unkind

It is customary to show little disrespect to the poor students
Some of the discourtesy is extended with inferior comments
I was unable to think further but bore a grudge permanently
I remember those abusive remarks and resisted him once vehemently

I thought and rethought about such behavior
As teacher he would have been considerate and held honor
I became reserved from that day and decided to keep silent
As it was now known to me that best way is to offer no comment

Hard Times

I vaguely recall some of my childhood days, although
If I had to relive those days I do remember
I would have chosen to be born under a different star-

Lying upon the cold tiled bathroom floor dying was
My father on a warm early spring day and
Lying unconscious in the intensive care ward dying
Just five months later, lay my mother.

Sunlight would be creeping through the bedroom window,
Some twenty years later, as I stood by the bathroom door,
Screaming out in utter frustration and despair,
Trying to discern what was real from the shadows inside of my mind,
While all of the anger of my past and present days
Flooded my thoughts as would a raging storm on a summer’s eve-

I stood as still as the broken lamppost leaning upon the living room wall,
Trapped inside a tenement of anger and mistrust,
Fighting the tears that were flowing as rapidly as a downhill stream,
All of the rage tearing my soul apart as my heart was locked
