My Poetic Justice/ Mi Justicia Poeta 09
My Poetic Justice Will Prevail (2008)
I try to solve our inequities
maybe were just on different planes
you creating flaws in my symetry
I say it's you maybe it's really me
I can't give up, I can't give in
It's like my soul's in sin
I truly love the way you make me face
my complexities
it's been a postpartum of my meloncholy
and I give birth to creativity
and rhythm of reality
lyrics of truth
you deliver me in your sermon
Now only time can tell
but my Poetic Justice will prevail.

There Is Always A Time For Reckoning
those with black conscience
shall take all the time to laugh
they will have their own time
the deepest ocean knows how
to listen
there is always a time for
reckoning
that is our hope
we do not inflict the pain
it is the pain that inflicts itself
upon themselves
that is the law
it is harsh
and it shall prevail
we who have white souls
shall wait
we do nothing to stain our hands

Sonnet 04
A garden so well watered before morn
Is hotly up, that not the swart sun's blaze
Down beating with unmitigated rays,
Nor arid winds from scorching places borne,
Shall quite prevail to make it bare and shorn
Of its green beauty -- shall not quite prevail
That all its morning freshness shall exhale,
Till evening and the evening dews return --
A blessing such as this our hearts might reap,
The freshness of the garden they might share,
Through the long day a heavenly freshness keep,
If, knowing how the day and day's glare
Must beat upon them, we would largely steep
And water them betimes with dews of prayer.

Take and Keep It
Take and keep it!
Stay focused.
Believe the journey.
Enjoy the scene.
Wrap your heart around the moment.
Be there...
And remember each detail.
Prevail and succeed.
Live as if it breathes within you.
Feel, unlock and release...
Every thrill increasing your excitement.
Exclaim in shouts!
Come out with it,
Or hide in quiet gratefulness.
You hold the key.
Know that awake or in deep peaceful sleep.
It is yours to keep!
Let this sensation unresisted fit.
Take and keep it!
Stay focused.

With A Failure Hailed And Assailed
They wanted to see him fail.
With a failure that would prevail.
And when they were done,
Their efforts had won.
With a failure hailed and assailed,
To belong and identified...
With each and everyone!
They wanted to see him fail.
With a failure that would prevail.
And when they were done,
Their efforts had won.
With a failure hailed and assailed,
To belong and identified...
With each,
And everyone that sung,
'Failure, failure...
Failure to us has come.'

The Greek National Anthem
We knew thee of old,
Oh divinely restored,
By the light of thine eyes
And the light of thy Sword.
From the graves of our slain
Shall thy valour prevail
As we greet thee again --
Hail, Liberty! Hail!
Long time didst thou dwell
Mid the peoples that mourn,
Awaiting some voice
That should bid thee return.
Ah, slow broke that day
And no man dared call,
For the shadow of tyranny
Lay over all:

The Rumour Spread Thus
The rumour spread that he is dead
the talks were excited with passionate greed
anxious souls rushed to the site
eager for morsels of material food
(to pacify momentary greed
though not satiate the need for more)
as he lay he heard the commotion
quickly he came to the conclusion
and the poor unloved soul
thought it fit to kill what was left
of the dying life in him
the rushing crowd of wards and worse
saw the father writhing in pain
his slit hand spoke volumes

Yes, Evil Does Exist
Yes,
Evil does exist.
And is attempting to prevail.
To hide or run away from it,
Allows it a power to weaken us...
And to do it without fail.
There is a call from those of peace,
To have peace from us cheered and hailed.
But evil has to be combatted.
And to do it,
We must stand tall.
And not crawl on the ground,
Like frightened sand dwelling snails!
Evil does exist.
And is attempting to prevail.
To hide or run away from it,
Allows it a power to weaken us...
And to do it without fail.

Awaiting June~~~
The mourning doves run rife through the Mimosa
While a deluge of California sun beats down
Everywhere is getting acquainted with somewhere
While the bougainvillea leave their fingerprints all around;
Messengers are still a little invisible-
As many a blind eye might attest--
Windows of Springtime sunsets prevail
Surviving the mountains out west;
The in between of the seasons is nearing...
Awaiting in the trails- is the sizzling of June-
Bathing itself in warmth, a bit early, is May
Impatient for that perfect Summer Moon;
So here's to the Seasons of flowers and the shore
The woodlands and mountains so high
Spectators to the greenhouses of seasons & mighty sea
Welcoming all with a most longing sigh;
Two seasons dancing together...
Near to the riverbanks are the Pheasant and Quail
Past experience has truly taught us
That Sun and Blue Sky oft' times prevail;

A Supplication
Awake, awake, my Lyre!
And tell thy silent master's humble tale
In sounds that may prevail;
Sounds that gentle thoughts inspire:
Though so exalted she
And I so lowly be
Tell her, such different notes make all thy harmony.
Hark, how the strings awake!
And, though the moving hand approach not near,
Themselves with awful fear
A kind of numerous trembling make.
Now all thy forces try;
Now all thy charms apply;
Revenge upon her ear the conquests of her eye.
Weak Lyre! thy virtue sure
Is useless here, since thou art only found
To cure, but not to wound,
And she to wound, but not to cure,
