Quotes about flag, page 55
Shackles
an old Esso sign,
broken down,
standing in the corner.
empty block building,
windows broke out,
wind whistles through the dust.
an old set of shackles,
hanging on a peg.
two broken chairs,
and an empty coke bottle.
lost on the road
that no one travels anymore.
an old rotary phone...
a tattered flag on the floor.
an old Chevy up on blocks,

At School
The bees are in the meadow
And the swallows in the sky;
The cattle in the shadow
Watch the river running by.
The wheat is hardly stirring;
The heavy ox-team lags;
The dragon-fly is whirring
Through the yellow-blossomed flag.
And down beside the river,
Where the trees lean o'er the pool,
Where the shadows reach the quiver
A boy has come to school.
His teachers are the swallow
And the river and the trees;
His lessons are the shallows
And the flowers and the bees.

In This World
In this world and of this world,
we wonder whence we came and where to
morrow we will soon be whirled
through three score years and ten. Prepare! Two
moments matter, first cry hurled,
and last sigh [m]uttered, spluttered. There, too,
who remembers foetus curled
or corpse encoffined, both as bare to
any here. What flag unfurled
may wake the winds or ever dare to
show true way the world is twirled,
the how, the why, yet still speak fair... Who? ...

Set Your Own Republic!
shun all Funs
Then life itself a fun,
when all pains shun
yourself done!
Perusal of senses
make you a slave,
Be dictator of none
but your own,
Tune the mind,
Rule the senses
and body,
Be the body is your land,
Mind is government,
Intelligence is security force,
Wisdom is parliament,
Let your republic have no flag or emblem!
Never water desires,

Cant Sleep
SILENT peaple with a spidery smile,
they are crippled and abandoned by
their very own flag,
storms, that dig six feet under,
storms, that kick and howl, then
settle into a cold bipoler storm,
SILENT peaple with their gigantic
moods, its so simple the sane peaple
say, just tell yourself to get out of
bed, get dressed, and smile on the
way out,
storms, that dig six feet under,
storms, that kick and howl, then
settle into a cold bipoler storm.

Family Outing
the old woman laughs
at the photograph of her
self
when she was 3
she waves a blur
that could be a flag
she is in pink
with a see-through pink umbrella
seahorses cavort
around its rim
she gnaws at the umbrella handle
teeth forcing their way through
(toothless now)

Gigantic Moods
SILENT peaple with a spidery smile,
they are crippled and abandoned by

settle into a cold bipoler storm,
SILENT peaple with their gigantic

settle into a cold bipoler storm.

In life and death
We will meet and we shall meet
the darkest day of our lives
For time moves on till a mirror reflects
For time doesn't stop neither for life nor death
Beauty and joy, wrinkles of pain
in life and time may remain a stain
Neither diamonds nor gold can stop its flow
for in life and death time will never move slow
For on the darkest day
of our flag, time will not lag
In repent or joy, time will show its stealth
for time neither mourns for life nor death

Mexicans
Mexicans are brown
That’s my race
So don’t mess around
Mexican Pride
I will not disagree
My Mexican blood flows with ease
Through thick and thin til the day I die.
Our Mexican flag up in the sky
I yell this poem louder than the rest
Cuz everyone knows Mexicans are G’s
Mexican Pride is on my mind
Mexican blood in my veins
So step aside and let us through
Cuz it’s the Mexican Crew
Lifes messed up and you die alone
But if your one of us you die with pride.
