Broken Wings

Take these broken wings,
And mend them with your love.
Teach my heart those things,
That are, allied to a dove.
Let my soul then soar,
To heights unknown and new,
That it may then explore,
This vision, that is you.

Take my voice, which rings
With joy, when you are near.
Hear, when my heart sings
Sweet melodies so clear.
Let this sound vibrate,
Until the heavens chime,
And we will then pulsate
Fused together, for all time.

Braid the Raven Hair

Braid the raven hair,
Weave the supple tress,
Deck the maiden fair
In her loveliness;
Paint the pretty face,
Dye the coral lip,
Emphasise the grace
Of her ladyship!
Art and nature, thus allied,
Go to make a pretty bride!

Sit with downcast eye,
Let it brim with dew;
Try if you can cry,
We will do so, too.
When you're summoned, start
Like a frightened roe;
Flutter, little heart,
Colour, come and go!
Modesty at marriage tide

Pearl S. Buck

The lack of emotional security of our American young people is due, I believe, to their isolation from the larger family unit. No two people - no mere father and mother - as I have often said, are enough to provide emotional security for a child. He needs to feel himself one in a world of kinfolk, persons of variety in age and temperament, and yet allied to himself by an indissoluble bond which he cannot break if he could, for nature has welded him into it before he was born.

Not a Friend, Left Behind

A tale seldom told
Of a life seemingly forgotten
Not a friend, left behind
In the hurried pace of life
Time to precious a commodity
To spare a moment, a thought
The terms of friendship
A glossary of semantics
Aquatinted by interpretation
Of what is felt and what is said
The colleague of indifference
A reality or emotional impulse
Allied to some promises
And so some stories read
Into an unhappy end
That seldom they are told
Have you heard the one about
Not a friend, left behind

Ex-lovers Met In FB: The Spy

Shadows on the horizon
Hovering from the past
Like TV screen
The Spy is watching them

In solemn love affair
Allied by Face Book
Marriage changed
To “complicated” profile

Defaced with other name
Amongst friends of friends
Through chats and emails
They played well their game

The spy rose road to reality
Upon the call of curiosity
Ammunition of true love
He aimed to win her back

The 60th Anniversary of D-Day

The Jewish World has much to praise
Those that fought on that Great Day,
To release the World from tyranny great,
Which could have sealed the Jewish Fate,
Had Germany not fallen before
The Allied Armies knocking at their door.

On the beaches of Normandy they fought,
On 6th of June 1944 began that onslaught.
Those courageous men who fought and died,
Remembered by comrades still alive,
On this, the 6th June 2004,
Sixty years after they fought that war.

Providential Headstart - Home is where the heart...

Head flies outside through joy espied,
Offers new day begun,
May side by side fore’er abide
Eternally as one.
If care’s denied tears may be dried
Sun highlights scope and fun
While soul that cried’s now healed inside
Hearts’s karmic leap is won.
Each dawn beside shared orbit’s glide
Rhymes well, joy’s never done,
Each night is eyed as welcome ride
Hand, hand, tied, ne’er undone,
Entwined, allied, with time defied,
As limits overcome
Restore bridge wide which bona fide
Teams with sweet dreams none shun …

Benlomond

Hadst thou a genius on thy peak,
What tales, white-headed Ben,
Could'st thou of ancient ages speak,
That mock th' historian's pen!

Thy long duration makes our livea
Seem but so many hours;
And likens, to the bees' frail hives,
Our most stupendous towers.

Temples and towers thou seest begun,
New creeds, new conquerers sway;
And, like their shadows in the sun,
Hast seen them swept away.

Thy steadfast summit, heaven-allied
(Unlike life's little span),
Looks down a mentor on the pride
Of perishable man.

What Keeps Us Allied.

Two things keep me allied
To this nature and You;
A multi-layered Spectacle;
Distant and short vision on
A progressive lens pattern
With age-covering frame.
A dual-sim gadget that feed
Radiation deep even to souls,
Ignoring scientific warnings,
Of hazards enormous and brutal.
Eyes are but shining balls with
Black and white glossy shades,
Caged in fleshy lids with
Lashes set to filter visions!
Mobile phone; reminds you,
You are Connected, Chased,
Monitored beyond all escapes.
How I wish the days John Milton
Composed ‘The Paradise Lost'!

Modern Government In Boom Flight Of Fancy

It is easy to be lost in a mist of maze words
it is easy to hide all true masked intentions
politics plays word games with grandiose deceit
general public with sleight of tv hand to deceive
a simple no fly zone innocent citizens to protect

swiftly becomes strategic western bombing supporting rebels
civilian protests in Libya for weeks becomes armed rebellions
a no fly zone allied air bombing support in brewing civil war
weeks will prove rewards well oiled rebel oil contracts in store
who will new Rebel Americano Nato oil company sell oil spoils?
