The artist in Sowmya

The Artist in Sowmya

On the scene there arrived a cover,
Where beautiful flowers did hover,
In an ecstatic profuse shower,
As a wonderful collage'bower.

Many a drawing the cover closeted,
And on each my eyes got rivetted;
The designs were intricately matted,
And the etched drawings astounded.

The bigger charts—true -a feat,
To view the lovely paintings neat,
The aghast heart missed a beat;
It was to the eyes a bounteous treat.

Bound I'm to specially mention,
About the remarkable two, sections;
The distant snow-capped mountains,

Reminiscing Those Carefree Days...

the days are coming and going
the coconut tree that you once planted at the back of the house
has become so tall
and fruitful
rising above the roof and the other trees
growing at you
neighbor's backyard

the nights are dark as usual but soon when you begin to look at those hind sides
carefully
you will notice a collage of stars
blinking
like city neon lights

a comet once passed this path but you were then asleep
preoccupied with the thoughts of
your past

those cliffs that you have not climbed ever
the deep seas that seem to warn you about some people

Almost There

She had that look
that turn of head
that stare
and you weren’t
the only guy
to have been moved by her

or whose boat
had been almost
capsized by her
but there again

these dames
don’t come along
every day
and there was that Sunday

you took that trip
over to her place

Sentenced For The Term Of Her Natural Life

Past waves
sucked out marrow
chilling chipped
raw bones
stripping striped
flayed flesh.
Balsam rubbed
in hardens.

As gashed
groaning flesh
rigidly resists
handfuls
of coarse salt.
Raked
across weeping wounds
scouraged bitterly.

Lashes tongue
flickering frequent

The Process Of Selection....

on the other hand,
if everything is fiction, then what could possibly
be not?

the possibilities of words
they are not just in random picked by some foolish gods
and given a form
and the slightest idea connected to a certain
belief in
meaning

well, there will always be the justification of an experience
that something like this once happened but that the recollection is
not clear anymore

part bird, part lion, wings or hands,
did it have a horn, or a halo?
the images argue among themselves and
as a matter of compromise
the mind puts everything in a collage

Left In a Comfortable Snore

Too pageantry.
With a trained and camera ready indulgence.
There is 'more' excitement,
In watching the wind blow snow into drifts.

There...
You may be in presence.
But a forced and unnatural delivery...
Leaves you detached.
Like a pair of mismatched socks!
Worn to shock...
But,
Bores.

Too polished!
Hypnotizing one into a deep sleep.
And left in a comfortable snore.

A connection to feeling,
Has been demolished.

Prevaricator

From high upon a pedestal i write-
Weak and in total disbelief i cry-
My eyes- like slits shutting out the blinding light of day-
While whispers of the real truth-uncover your lie;
The windows to your soul-they fooled me...
Hidden well within the covers of our time...
Unlike the clay molded into a most perfect form...
'Twas covered by the snow of the Winter rhyme;
Exhaustion set in overwhelming me...
The evenings menacing darkness just creeps-
As a ship upon stormy waters with torn sails-
The whispers of the true you takes away my sleep;
Lost in a collage of your lies...
Thrown in a mighty sea of stormy waves...
Totally taken in by your every word...
An unaccepted life not worthy to even save;
Too complacent and naive i had become-
Altered by lives- haves and have nots...
Confused and abused by the sinister of liars...
It is for the real truth i have fought;

Transcendence

Seeds, berries, and foods in short supply
flocks of feathered friends made a V line
to a place of plenty.

The existing regime idealism-over time-
calls for changes in the status quo.
Ethics and morals of our leaders “ism” in its
existence has to be comprised or discarded.

Before...an evening star stood alone
in the shadow of the sun.
But on this blustery winter day an
era of change is on the way.
A morning star rises in glory to overshadow
despair, shed light on hopelessness, and presents
a gleam of hope on healthcare and education,
jobs and housings, stable families...even
an open hand to friends and foes alike.
So that the whole world can live
on a well-preserved planet.

In The Realms Of The Unreal

In the heathenish country of enslaved white children,
Nine little girls become the martyrs who lead the Christian charge
(Sometimes stark naked,
And other times in blue dresses,
Coroneted by snow white swans)
Following the example of the god he knew,
He wrote the battle hymns to fill the bullet holes,
While his angelic daughters
Held half naked in his room,
Practice standing still against the trees,
So the professors of the hurly-burly come by
None the wiser with their muskets discharged
Into the earth in retaliation for the thirsting bayonets.
The godheads for the never-ending war,
These golden-bobbed generals
Share phone conversations with Shirley Temple,
As they tuck in all the dead and lonesome girls in Chicago,
Alone in his room, Henry Darger
Traces his Christmas sorrows:
All his fine children ravaged in his personal crucifixion,
