Quotes about heady, page 6

Bungee Jump

Won't get me up there, can't get me to try,
Looking down a ravine, from a mile up in the sky,
What's heady for some, is nothing for another
A bit of bungee jumping, said my big brother.

With rubbers attached to my trembling feet
Whatever possessed me to take that leap,
I jumped into the future, at the blink of an eye
Like a flash of lightning, my life passed me by.

Now the thrill is over, hanging upside down in the air
I swallowed my pride and I did it for a dare,
Alone at the end of it, just getting my breath
In future, I'll leave it, to those who don't fear death..

Craft and Wisemen vs Kraft und Eisen

CRAFT AND WISEMEN vs KRAFT UND EISEN

Sur[e]ly teutons were defeated
by hurly-burly true and sturdy -
tune called to their hurdy-gurdy -
‘might’ to ‘might not’ soon retreated.

Hate received a fate well meted
by G.I., Tommy, far less wordy,
rising with the early birdy,
not led from bed in bunker heated.

From eagle bunker dark, conceited,
go balls holed by expert birdie,
sonnet couplet scarce absurdy,
syllables sibillant repeated:

Trust, steady rations, puns, fun, custard,
bust heady passions, huns’ guns, mustard.

My Pen

I found the pen while in my bed.
So many words were invading my head.
Where were they coming from, these words I heard?
They came so fast that they all were blurred.

I placed the pen upon the page
and the words escaped my heady cage.
How long had they been captive in my brain?
As I started to write it released my pain.

And so it became my way to heal,
easing the sorrow that I did feel.
Consumed with sadness, confused from loss
I now had a way to finally cross

Into a valley of sanity again
and bring my anguish to an end.
And so my pen is treasured every day.
It allows me peace as I make my way.

Words Of

Gray to white, hold nothing back
the wrist is weary and heady in its
passion to continue on and in fullness
express that which cannot be felt
and is in fact more release than expression
\You worry too well about other thoughts
and seek to guide the raging torrent
of words without refinement but with
power gleaned from pure passion
with the rough edges left on for seasoning
at the moment of perception
\At last they feel the pressure of the end
knowing from experience that the room is gone
temporarily they held in abeyance
the sorrows of confused equilibrium
that was unbalanced but now is free

Beware of the Ghoul

Pour me a heady cocktail
Of Sex, Religion, Death,
But do not turn your head away
From my stinking, rancid breath!

I've found my joy in every grave
That's full of bones and dust,
Your God will never, ever save
You from my raging lust!

How putrid is my highest dream,
Where Angels fear to tread,
My knowledge will just make you scream
And wish that you were dead.

I've seen a lot of life, my friend,
More than you'll ever know,
And I hope you'll never meet your end
With the demons here below.

Green Clouds # 2

Green flurries of folly flip and scurry about
into my tender grasp so that I can hold them
and mold them into the precision I need

They bring a balance to the fallacy of plight and despite
and level out the scored tendencies of flame and passion
until I scream to be let out from the formication of sin

There on the evening I light my folly like a fuse
and step once more outside my shedding skin
standing heady in the moonlight I feel my fleeting breath

Thinking of the trinkets of my burning life of ruts
I watch the clouds descend and bear me with them into dark
singing songs of tempting righteousness and sorted human death

Motion

My body’s always in motion
running through unseen routines
forcing air, chest rising and falling,
heart-blood coursing
through a million small chambers
to glow red again.

Even at rest
my chest rises to cold air
and drinks it in, clean and clear,
and with heady ambition,
I run,
my aging legs pounding
this treadmill
to nowhere.

But I know this
is a temporary condition.
Soon enough
my blood will congeal and

Utter perfection

Blackberry (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
A warm September evening
The birds happy
the sun bright
my dog hunting for rabbits and squirrels
still and barmy
happy and chilled
The air live with the buzzing of insects
them like me
seeking natures bountiful harvest.
Tonight the brambles laden
with heavy blackberries
each tastes different; slightly or lots
some sharp some sweet
ready or not too
Now this one
warm to the touch from the kiss of the sun's rays
bursts in my mouth
sweet, fragrant, delightful
perfect

The Lovliest Place in the World

The jays jump, plump in blue
Plumage among the fallen pine cones
In this tilted land of ponderosa pines.
Spaced apart are the wise old junipers,
Drifting sleepily in their heady odors.
You are quite tired from hiking all day
And lean against a solitary rock
Where the blue-white light shines
In cool dense breezes.

At twilight the forest is stock-still.
You might see a tireless black ant,
So leave it alone;
Leave everything alone.
Even yourself
That you may soak in the forgotten
Songs of the moon and milky way.
All musically tuned to the arrowhead
You found on the high blue trail.
And hold it tightly in your hand,

Euphoria In The Rain

Liquid mirth beckoned to her gypsy soul
Casting spells on her runaway thoughts
Its silver dance on her thrilled wet skin
Rained promises showered by forgotten gods

Euphoria reveled through the slithering drops
To caress, to whisper, to sing sensuous odes
Splashing her with wet water-secrets
As elation coursed through the lavish hour

The incessant beats quenched her rhythm
And danced her over to the waiting night
Moving her to the heady brink of satiety
Over the daring edge of a thirsty life

Walking in the rain, knocking on chances
Drawing charms from ancient wells
Warm summer rain and little wood-fairies
Weaving magic into the threads of dusk.
