The Menace Of Mediation

Mediation is a monster when maliciously misused,
Devouring good but weak who are sadly confused.
If mediators have agendas or favor either side,
Their use in any negotiations must be disqualified.

In this maudlin world of misfits accusers often lie
To feather plaintiff pockets with what they can pry.
Truth never was their mantra and honesty a lost art.
Yet wins are easier aided by good but weak hearts.

When sacrificing truth to make risk “go away”
Risks will grow ever greater and society will pay
A higher price as evil becomes the alternative
As winning supplants right as the only way to live.

With just cause the strong will always state their case
Since squandering their chances will further deface
A legal maze where good but weak give up their say
Trying to avoid risk, but sadly aiding injustice today.

The Monetary Aryan Race

Mutual assured mass destruction.
With a reluctance we hold our self to a higher standard.
Their are not crimes in a war.
The war itself is the crime.
But not by laws of the governing standard.
But instead a moral obligation.
To resist the temptation to skip the peaceful negotiations.
As individuals we all want something.
But as a whole some of the things are just not a priority.
And the majority should be somewhat satisfied.
Yet in this I think many have failed.
For a self serving agenda.
How does it benefit me?
And if it doesn't why should I bother?
Because it is not about only you in the decisions that need to be made.
The bigger picture.
In and out of the box.
Ideas are slung around like guns being shot.
Most disregarded as not even worth looking at.
Because the name encircling it does not have any fame.

The Peace of Jerusalem

We as Believers are admonished to pray for the peace of Jerusalem,
But how or when, to this troubled city, could true peace ever come?

It has had more bloodshed than any other city in the history of man,
But Jerusalem remains the central focus of The Lord's Eternal Plan.

Dialog with both sides will lead to peace is the world's deduction,
When they say peace and safety they'll only see sudden destruction.

The Arabs talk of peace with Israel, as they desire to destroy them,
And they even talk about making their capital the city of Jerusalem.

True Peace in Israel is not being discussed in any Arab Convention,
But peace my friend will only come through The Lord's intervention.

Israel is seeking peace with her enemies by diplomatic negotiations,
While ignoring God's command not to make a treaty with the nations.

For they need not man in time of need but only for God to intercede,
But again, they lean to others just like Egypt that splintered reed,

I Am Feeling More Hot

MILF chief peace negotiator Mohagher Iqbal warned of a return to full-scale hostilities.

'This is a grim scenario and I don't even want to think about it, but if the peace talks collapse then there will be war again in Mindanao, ' he told AFP.

Iqbal blamed hawkish factions of President Gloria Arroyo's government and local Christian politicians opposed to a Muslim homeland.

'The voice of reason is dwarfed by the voice of hatred and prejudice, ' he said. 'The peace talks are slowly breaking apart and if this continues, may God help us all.'

Talks to end the insurgency have been going on for 11 years, with a ceasefire officially in force since 2003.

The peace accord would have granted Muslims their own separate state across more than 700 villages in Mindanao, but the Supreme Court on August 4 halted the so-called Memorandum of Agreement on Ancestral Domain.

The peace plan had sparked a series of protests from mostly Christian politicians and residents opposed to the inclusion of their areas into the so-called Bangsamoro (Muslim) Juridical Entity.

Several rebel MILF commanders have since ignored repeated calls by their leaders to stand down and launched attacks on civilians in towns and villages in many parts of Muslim Mindanao.

Some politicians have urged villagers to arm and defend themselves from rebel attacks. Armed militias have also been deployed to guard their communities against further atrocities.

On Saturday MILF chairman Ebrahim Murad called on Malaysia to help resume the peace talks to end weeks of brutal fighting in Mindanao.

When The Peace Negotiations Have Failed

The fight for our freedom.
Its not for me, but for you.
Chained to a steel chair, condemned in silence.
Accusations of inciting of violence.
What do we do when the peace negotiations have failed?
What do we do when your brother is wearing a uniform and pointing a gun at you?

Do we love all of them all the more?
Forced into a war.
Choices of poverty by a single declaration.
We are the people and we will not be silent.
Even if it means dieing.

We stand in a line holding hands stopping all traffic upon the city streets.
A nuisance to the wealthy.

The Female of the Species

When the Himalayan peasant meets the he-bear in his pride,
He shouts to scare the monster who will often turn aside.
But the she-bear thus accosted rends the peasant tooth and nail,
For the female of the species is more deadly than the male.

Report from the Besieged City

Too old to carry arms and fight like the others -

they graciously gave me the inferior role of chronicler
I record - I don't know for whom - the history of the siege

I am supposed to be exact but I don't know when the invasion began
two hundred years ago in December in September perhaps yesterday at dawn
everyone here suffers from a loss of the sense of time

all we have left is the place the attachment to the place
we still rule over the ruins of temples spectres of gardens and houses
if we lose the ruins nothing will be left

I write as I can in the rhythm of interminable weeks
monday: empty storehouses a rat became the unit of currency
tuesday: the mayor murdered by unknown assailants
wednesday: negotiations for a cease-fire the enemy has imprisoned our messengers
we don't know where they are held that is the place of torture
thursday: after a stormy meeting a majority of voices rejected
the motion of the spice merchants for unconditional surrender
