I Burst Into Laughter
I burst into laughter
whenever I hear
that the fish is thirsty in water.
Without the knowledge of Self
people just wander to Mathura or to Kashi
like the musk-deer unaware
of the scent in his navel,
goes on running forest to forest.
In water is the lotus plant
and the plant bears flowers
and on the flowers are the bees buzzing.
Likewise all yogis and mendicants
and all those who have renounced comforts,
are on here and hereafter and the nether world -
contemplating.
Friend, the Supreme Indestructible Being,
on whom thousands of sages meditate

Happy Onam For All
History or myth, concept of Onam is good:
A generous king known as Mahabali had ruled Kerala
People were in happiness and harmony then;
Pilfering, betrayal, hording etc were unknown
Years went by, heavenly people got annoyed
One dwarf Vamana, incarnation of Vishnu,
Nicely trapped Mahabali in the name of charity;
A land of three-foot-long was his kind demand,
Mahabali agreed; Vamana grew up in original form
First two steps of Vamana measured Earth&Heaven
Of course generous Mahabali went in dilemma;
Requested by Vamana, he bowed down to the 3rd step
A generous king was thus pushed down to nether world
Leaving time, the King appealed to Vishnu for a grant
Letting him visit his people once in a year; that marks ONAM
(Acrostic of HAPPY ONAM FOR ALL)

Misty Haze
Misty blue haze, rise above the oceans, green waves
Loves seeds, entangle seaweed, washed ashore
Salty waters flow, to carve its sandy caves
Water glistens, loves silhouettes, dare to dance
Cool green waters, foam to white, a gentle seduction
Nature's music fills the air, a pure sweet romance
Suns glow, bodies external heat, passion's exotic blaze
Oceans exquisite temptation, salted lust upon our lips
Love's eyes locked in pleasure, a gentle hypnotic gaze
Body's silken skin, internal heat, together life's entwined
Foamy Waters, heightened sensations, a tantalizing Pleasure
Loves unforgettable passion, scribes a ocean delicate line
soft wind, gentle whispers, kissed away our fear
Nature's lust, loves desire, birds sing, body exotic bliss
Nether can resist, let passion sounded, for all to hear

Enlightenment
Through outer gates of carven teak
then inner gates of ivory
The pilgrim ventures who would seek
an answer to the mystery.
The seeker must be clad in white.
Pure in heart and innocent,
his only wish the serve the light.
He must be truly confident.
Ready and willing to accept.
The answer to his question may
not be the one he might expect.
Obscure and nether yea nor nay.
It is his task to interpret
the meaning of the words he hears.
Etched deeply so he can’t forget.
To understand them may take years.

7/11 Mumbai
in the deep recess
far away from the light
lives a neanderthral.
a giant in size,
mind firmly lent
to the nether of ideas
and morals,
the neanderthral
was
but human in shape.
the neanderthral
got envious of a tiny
tree,
'lop it i must',
he said to himself.
tree and i cannot
stay together.

A Story
He loved her and he was untrue—
Untrue he was, let loved her still;
For out of nether darkness drew
The winds that lashed his wandering will.
She lived in joy all unaware,
In pain and joy his children bore,
While hidden spectres of despair
Drove him to love her more and more.
And when she knew the truth at last,
Suddenly she grew still and strange.
Her rag of haggard youth was cast
Upon the evil winds of change.
She heard, and could not understand;
She paled, and could not bloom again.
So bland death took her by the hand,
Looked in her eyes and made all plain,

Knock at the Doors of your Conscience
You ask the trees in the thicket;
in the shades of which you receited
the verses of love on me and they will rustle:
" Yeah, you loved her".
You call the waves of the billowy sea.
Before their eyes, you kissed me
and made a rush of your hand many a time on me,
and they will advance towards you looming and roaring:
" You cheat, don't tell lies! ".
You behold the roses in that garden
with your own natural eyes.
They will perfume to predict your doom and query:
" Are you a man born to a heroic mother? ".
You listen to the god-given voice of the bees and birds.
They will hum and chirp in a simple tongue:
" You shameless brute! Go to the nether world."

A Father's Tale
I had a recent re-encounter with 'The Nightingale'.
Coleridge considered calling it 'A Father's Tale'.
It was one of those still, dark, quiet, balmy nights.
Three thoughtful friends sat on a mossy bridge near Nether Stowy,
Somerset.
A nightingale began to sing.
Sam thought of melancholy,
Of sorrow not suited to this song,
Of poets diluted by books and balls,
Of Nature's eternality,
Of how a poem should add to all of Nature's loveliness,
And be loved, like Nature itself is loved.
He crafted such a poem.
With delicious notes
He describes wild grove
And delicious music of birds.

Nether Time
It is that we take this space
and weave its lines
into paper thin gauzy scenarios
where I take your mouth
onto mine
and feel it smile
in the way you always do
when we kiss
so deep its joy.
You like your mouth open then
and I cover it with mine.
I take your hand
and place it
onto my heart
I like you to feel
it beat
and correspondingly
my hand

Beeny Cliff
I
O the opal and the sapphire of that wandering western sea,
And the woman riding high above with bright hair flapping free-
The woman whom I loved so, and who loyally loved me.
I I
The pale mews plained below us, and the waves seemed far away
In a nether sky, engrossed in saying their ceaseless babbling say,
As we laughed light-heartedly aloft on that clear-sunned March day.
III
A little cloud then cloaked us, and there flew an irised rain,
And the Atlantic dyed its levels with a dull misfeatured stain,
And then the sun burst out again, and purples prinked the main.
IV
-Still in all its chasmal beauty bulks old Beeny to the sky,
And shall she and I not go there once again now March is nigh,
And the sweet things said in that March say anew there by and by?
