I Want to Meet the Person who Made the Chair

I want to meet
The person who made
The chair
Kings and Politicians
Fight for the chair
Fight may be fair unfair
One goes other comes
The chair remains
Always Waiting
For the old to go
New to occupy
I keep thinking
If only benches were there
Hundreds
Could have sat on them
Fights and killings
Would have been less
Less enmity
Less blood shed

The Empty Chair

an empty chair
that none will take..
A man in jail
for Freedom’s sake.

The honor of a Nobel prize
was viewed by China as offense-
They boycotted the Oslo fete
in honor of their dissident.

His wife is under house arrest
He is in his prison cell.
Why is China so afraid
Of what the prisoner might tell?

An empty chair
An unheard speech
A man imprisoned
For years, not weeks

Vissions From My Window

Pollution, death and dispair
vissions from my window, sitting on my chair
Endless disease surrounds our air
vissions from my window, sitting on my chair

Every minute gone by, worser conditions
many believe, they are solved with petitions
Lesser accolades, for a job well done
hospitality fading, generosity gone

Tensions growing, can be cut with a knife
education failing, changing our life
Brung on by people who do not care
brung on by people who wont play fair
Vissions from my window, sitting on my chair.

Library

Drowsing on the chair at six in the evening,
I sat in the library.
Attendant came to put the lights on.
Some chairs after days work were lucky to be empty,
While some were occupied.
I felt the chair feel uneasy.
Uneasiness passed on to the scholars
They moved here and there.
The chair cried in pain.
No one could hear, but I could feel
White dove the chairs messanger came
It shouted, "Let them rest".
Because what they were pursuing was not wisdom but knowledge
There dull minds were unaware
The dove went, I went too, but the chairs suffered there.

Rickety Chair

On a chair ricketier than himself
He is awake in his slumber
Slumber that comes when days are long
Yet numbered…..
In the relished stupor
The lost years show up as dreams
The remnants announcing
That he’s still alive!
He’s though never sure
He was ever part of them
They must be his imagination,
A myth or a tale he loves to believe.
The wrinkles mock the idea
That there was once a smoothness
The dimming world around his chair
Taunts to say the sparkle was a deceit
Did youth really ever embrace him?

It came to fleet away in a moment
Leaving him on the rickety chair to lament!

30 - The Devils chair

A suicide note
I carved on my chair
With a rusty old key
Wrapped in devils hair

Tied down and gagged
Steel chains around my wrists
Hell’s fury builds up inside
As I close my immortal fists

I draw a Lucifer smile
As my human body plays dead
My eyes turn from black
To demon yellow and red

I reach for his dagger
To disengage the void I can’t bare
As crimson acid rain falls
Onto my suicide chair

Devil-Burn (Revised)

My chair's actually a skew-growing bar stool,
my left shoulder's aching moodily while my
hair's a mess - but the worst of these pests
is symptoms of left arm syndrome

Last year I had to get document based care
and ended up perched on this high chair,
which is falling apart with fires starting
to burn sharp pains up my left side

It takes all my self-control not to exclaim and
run about, feels like the devil is prodding me
with his glowing fork and I don't want to go
for more X-rays, better get help

Before it's too late, hunt for a new chair, do
exercises again, even change of posture helps
a bit but this devil-burn in my shoulder is still
a very worrying phenomenon…

My Father's Chair

Parliaments of Henry III., 1265

There are four good legs to my Father's Chair--
Priests and People and Lords and Crown.
I sits on all of 'em fair and square,
And that is reason it don't break down.

I won't trust one leg, nor two, nor three,
To carry my weight when I sets me down.
I wants all four of 'em under me--
Priests and People and Lords and Crown.

I sits on all four and favours none--
Priests, nor People, nor Lords, nor Crown:
And I never tilts in my chair, my son,
And that is the reason it don't break down.

When your time comes to sit in my Chair,
Remember your Father's habits and rules,
