Quotes about effort, page 7

It Is Always Difficult To Begin The Week

IT IS ALWAYS DIFFICULT TO BEGIN THE WEEK

It is always difficult to begin the week
One's body is lost in a previous sleep
One's mind is still held down and back
Into resting -

The world is bleak
It is empty and difficult
I am empty inside
I have nothing to do
I have too much to do-

Still I must begin
I will do the usual routine assignments
Slowly I will get back into the motion and mind of my work
I am already trying now-

Even a small effort should bring forth suggestions for further effort
It will take time

How Much Is In A Kiss?

How much is in a kiss?
How much effort,
How much pain?
How much laughter,
How much gain?

How much is in a kiss?
How much love,
How much hatred?
How much joy,
How much feeling?

How many things are put into a kiss?
How many hopes,
How many dreams?
How many tears,
How many schemes?

What is really in a kiss?
Is it bitter,

The Show...

in this Act, of this Scene
you are not the Actor, you are
the Spectator,
they will use the language that
you do not understand
it is not the first time that
they do this,
neither is it the first time that
you will hear them,
they have been here for so many
years, but you were then so busy
and you speak the language
of the restless, and the
fenced,
the world of cubicles

they do not demand much from you
they understand and they
ask that you must try to understand too

When Storms Inundate Our Lives

stay spirit focused
happy and beautiful
family and friends
are our lifeblood links

to our humility and humanity

stay heart vision source focused
happy kind considerate beautiful
family friends colleagues mates
are prime society lifeblood links

to our humility and humanity
we exist as union interactive
supportive individuals unified
giving love creativity nobility

freely or we live in selective
isolated illusions believing material
wealth objects are more important

Poetry Is Movement Without Effort

Poetry is movement without effort
Poetry should take you to places far beyond what your eyes can see
Take you to places where you can be free
Poetry is movement without effort
All you have to do is think and feel
and it will move you
and make your experiences real
poetry can cause pictures to form in your mind
speak a thousand verbs, a thousand nouns, or a thousand rhymes
all written for you to experience on a personal level
poetry is a journey
to self discovery
out of a thousand doorways to roads never walked travelled or taken
poetry can cause your eyes and your heart to awaken
remind you of a friend’s love remind you that your never forsaken
because while you live you can experience life to the full
poetry is movement it is a tool
for cataloguing things seen and unseen
for poetry can be the very fabric from which we dream!

He and I Had Been Friends

Remember when you rejected my apology?
And I did my best...
With effort that still makes me wonder,
'Why'?
Why was I then so forgiving.
Giving you the benefit of a doubt.
And when you said 'No'...
I felt you had crushed my heart.
And you knew your response would do it!

Remember when you rejected my apology?
And I did my best...
With effort that still makes me wonder,
'Why'?
And I am wondering 'why' right now.
Why are you here,
To beg from me the same.
And 'why' do you appear to me now...
Bigger than the fool,
I could never be,

This Feeding Expected

No one can borrow money,
Squeezed from empty pockets.
Or dream of eating from a feast,
Deliciously prepared...
When nothing is there to eat anywhere.
And this feeding expected,
Is to be selected and picked from thin air.

Anyone can sit and wish to move...
And command a doing of it if they choose.
But...
A doing of it must first begin,
With an implementation...
Of those desires and needs,
Feeding a fire of desire from within.

A moving to do to complete and get done...
Is not going to come,
Without an effort made from someone.

Vain

At one time I thought self publishing so vain,
but now I have done it a couple of times
I am not so sure anymore.
In the past, some great writers have done it.

They used to call it vanity publishing,
but they do not call it that anymore.
My first venture was to ensure a copywrite on a poem
some people kept trying to claim as their own.

My second effort was never meant for sale,
but done as a gift for two close friends.
Something that holds a little bit of me
whenever I am not around them.

My third effort has for far too long
lain on my shelf gathering dust.
However, at the time of writing it
everyone said this was going to be the one.

I Just Know This Is 'Not' Your Best Effort

My mother used to assign my sisters and I...
The most remedial tasks to complete.
When we were much younger.
To test our mental capabilities.
Oh...
Those lessons my mother would teach.

And then...
Shower us with praises.
Having us believe,
We were gifted with unspeakable talents.
After connecting 'dots'.
Or...
Knowing which end of a handle held,
Was used to sweep or mop.

And as years have passed us by,
It became clear her tactic and strategy.
She knew we would seek more difficult tasks,
To satisfy her to complete.

My Work Ethic

I make what I do look easy.
So naturally,
Those who believe they know me...
Think there is no effort applied.
And insist I could get a real job,
If I tried.
And they have real jobs they despise.

And I can say,
My work ethic is real.
I am devoted to what I do.
And with me that is the appeal.
I may not have money they can respect.
Or finances to purchase what I wish for next.
But there is one thing I know no one with me can bet...
I wont be seen shopping at the mall seeking a happiness.

And I can say,
My work ethic is real.
I am devoted to what I do.
