Hippo's Hope

There once was a hippo who wanted to fly --
Fly-hi-dee, try-hi-dee, my-hi-dee-ho.
So he sewed him some wings that could flap through the sky --
Sky-hi-dee, fly-hi-dee, why-hi-dee-go.
He climbed to the top of a mountain of snow --
Snow-hi-dee, slow-hi-dee, oh-hi-dee-hoo.
With the clouds high above and the sea down below --
Where-hi-dee, there-hi-dee, scare-hi-dee-boo.
(Happy ending)
And he flipped and he flapped and he bellowed so loud --
Now-hi-dee, loud-hi-dee, proud-hi-dee-poop.
And he sailed like an eagle, off into the clouds --
High-hi-dee, fly-hi-dee, bye-hi-dee-boop.
(Unhappy ending)
And he leaped like a frog and he fell like a stone --
Stone-hi-dee, lone-hi-dee, own-hi-dee-flop.
And he crashed and he drowned and broke all his bones --
Bones-hi-dee, moans-hi-dee, groans-hi-dee-glop.
(Chicken ending)
He looked up at the sky and looked down at the sea --

Take Me

The bench made an impression
From my sparse weight
It had flaccidly laded
The burden
Of cradling me
In my bleak
Trampling,
And these cigarette buds
Swiftly incinerated
My lips, lungs,
Held by abeyance
In a swinging loose noose

The leaves zither and squander
As my eyes slow danced
With the hands
Of time
And days thawed to nights,
Nights coagulated
To weeks,

Less-R

That which you thought would be yours...
Will be collected,
To do as you wish to sit or absorb.
With visions of relaxing in retirement...
Or vacationing on distant exotic shores.

A 4-0-1-k has been kayo-ed.
From a safe protected place perceived...
To grow to delight your ecstatic trances,
As you dance back and forth...
Feeling relieved in glee!

'Knock knock.'

Hello...yes, who's there?

'Less R.'

Less R? Less R who?

Summer’s Delight

As the sun grins from the sky clear and silent,
Melts the snow covered mountains and sent,
To the hills, to the river, to the sea, thus enter,
Summer is here to act upon the idle of winter.

Once a beach that was dull without a quest,
The waves begun to unravel the frozen sand,
The pelicans’ greetings raised lenient guests,
This is the beauty; the grandeur of this land.

Like the monomania of baseball lovers hear,
Their triumphs from backyards to the parks,
Their roars, their applause, cheer after cheer
Are noises of summer, as it delightfully marks,

The calendar flipped once more on 4th of July,
Freedom is Reason! As smokes from the grill
Trekked up into the sky that we can still smell
Even fireworks bursting, yet no one can deny.

Back In Time

Last night; I went back in time
To see my wife if we never had met
I saw my ways, and my upcoming days
And my soul, was full of regret.
She wasn't there, but was in my prayer
As I surveyed the new life that I lived
And I walked alone, in my empty home
As my love for her I couldn't give.
I looked for her, and she couldn't be found
Last night when I went back in time,
So I searched her world, left nothing unfurled
But for her, nothing about her could I find.
So without me she took another path
Because then we had never met
But I stayed on that road, until I died old
Because no other woman in my heart would I let.
Then I had my thought when I awoke from my dream
And my woman she couldn't be found
So I closed my eyes and I sat down to cry
As my world was flipped upside down.

Couldn't Be More

A guy that is my best friend
That without him my life wouldn't be the same
He's changed my life
So drastically that it would be impossible
For me to be the same person today
Without him in my life
He has always made me smile
Laugh and enjoy life to the fullest
He has always been there for me when I needed someone or
When no one else seemed to care about my feelings
He has understood
Never made me cry
He is always there when I'm crying
And always there trying to comfort me
Trying to make me smile again

I love being around him
For he is the one whom
When I quit
When I’m done trying

One Too Many Blinkers

Somnolence, brewed with apathy,
In its feral and purged form
Perched upon the svelte frame
That thrusts the low canopies
In an endeavor to stand loftier
And muse past the knotted haunts,
Struggling to steadfast the crosshair into
The piercing eye of the adversary
In a conscious slumber in
The verisimilitude of the mirror

Leaves flipped with the gloaming,
Disintegrating the marionette's face—
The façade that stood
Like sooty pillars catching shadows
Departing without a wave
And innocuously lingering
Like the forest's milieu—
An auspicious camouflage of colors
Burying one too many blinkers

Animal Rights (A Restaurant Sold Fried Fish Cruelly)

In Taiwan, there was a restaurant,
sale promotion gimmick of which was very abhorrent.
It was a smoky fried fish,
a spicy and good -smelled dish.
There was a glass fish pond,
swimming in it were fish...big, fat and long.
Beside it was a fish net,
by which the chef would catch.
Then he quickly removed the scale with a knife,
and on the body he cut and sprinkled with salt and spice,
while the fish was still alive.
Then with wet towel he grabbed the fish head,
while the gill huffing and puffing to catch the breath.
Into the sizzling hot oil, the body was slowly dipped,
which in painful agony, flapped and flipped.
The fish struggled in a desperate attempt,
causing the hot oil to splash,
onto the chef's hand,
making him cry in pain as if the world was going to end.
Before the fried fish was going to be served,

Le Bateau Is Hanging Upside Down

'Isn't it recondite' said the patron
Who observed the Matisse for inspection
As if he were an expertise General
Protecting culture on his mantel

'Yes it is' I squirmed with breath
Perspiration was in my brain
Hoping to come out with the wisdom
Of knowing what I didn't know

Sensing my every twitching askance
He looked at me with half a scrawl
Dalmatian conceit in his posture
Wagging his lips of disapproval

'Of course you don't understand
I can see it writen in your face
Let me enlighten you to what this means-
This artist is embracing symbolic transformation
Utilizing reductionism for grand complexity

Could This Be You?

Somebody has to keep faith,
Deep believed.
Somebody should feel everyday,
Come what may...
They can not lose.
No matter what it is they may be going through.

Somebody should stop crawling on their knees.
With a moody attitude.
Could this be you...
Who can choose to improve?
If you wanted to!

Some people live their lives,
Caught up in the middle...
Attempting to solve complexing riddles.
To feel 'flipped, flapped and jacked'...
As if heated on a griddle,
Becoming puzzled and belittled.
With a blowing of a stack,
