Quotes about monsoon, page 7
At The Nariman Point
like two birds perched
on a damp branch
we sat there
by the mid-day sea
after days of endless
downpour that confined
us to indoors
the sky's still overcast
hand in hand
we sat and heard
nothing but the
roar of the sea that
absorbed the endless
nightmares left
unspoken for days...
that afternoon
by the heavy monsoon sea

You know what
You know what, you can't guess how much I love you!
My mind has become a mosque to pray for you!
You’ve become my mind’s addiction,
You’ve become my eyes’ addiction!
My life was a desert without love,
I ran after the mirage a lot
To quench the thirst for my sweetest love!
Then you have come in my life
Like the clouds of monsoon rain
And painted my mind
With colors of love!

Your presence
When you were away,
You were still so much here
In ocean deep silence,
In torn mind amidst of the wild wind thoughts,
In love deserted tearful eyes,
In lives
Turned lifeless autumn leaves.
As you return
Drench me in incessant rain of love;
It's like gush of water on dry river bed,
It's like sprouted leaves
After the first spell of monsoon rain open arms,
Life has touched me again.

Frangipani! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
Leaves like half burnt toast,
Hang from the shrivelled branches
Of Frangipani.
Come monsoon showers;
It comes to life and flowers,
Savours in delight…
Seduced by sweet scent
Moths drawn by the fragrance, flock
At night for nectar.
Do they have a clue?
It’s fruitless search for nectar;
Trick up nature's sleeve,
To help pollinate
As moths flit over flowers;
Play designated role…

The Dark One Is Krishna
Thick overhead
clouds of the monsoon,
a delight to this feverish heart.
Season of rain,
season of uncontrolled whispers---the Dark One's returning!
O swollen heart,
O sky brimming with moisture---
tongued lightning first
and then thunder,
convulsive spatters of rain
and then wind, chasing the summertime heat.
Mira says: Dark One,
I've waited---
it's time to take my songs
into the street.

Return of Rain
The cloud drops on my lip
On the tip of my nose
I get hugged by the drip
Ah, rain is so close!
The heat is now a story
The balm seems so near
Regaining its lost glory
Surely the monsoon is here!
Tip-tap on my windowpane
Dark floaters are busy
Pouring on men and women
Life is once more easy!
I'm glad the rain is back
To awaken the soil's green
Wipe out the summer's crack
Dance on my parched roof tin!

Dust in my eyes
You are dust in my eyes you give me only pain
If I remember you my eyes shed monsoon rain
You flirted with me and make me want you most
You want me to love you so that you can boast
The way you dress you were always
Very much carefully careless
You stared at me to make me crazy for you
But your love for me was never ever true
You have no doubt stained the name and fame of love
Please stop this dirty game I have had enough

A merciless curse
Now the mirror inside me misses you so much
It tends to break into pieces without a touch!
Slowly the wound inside me becomes worse
So my life seems like a merciless curse!
The villains remind me why I am so good
But swiftly from bad to worse they change my mood!
My soul becomes heavy like a mountain
It makes me lazy again and again!
My sweet memories now give me so much pain
Day and night my eyes shed tears like monsoon rain!

A Creation of sorts
It was neither
Monsoon nor winter
Yet the air was filled
With the freshness of
The first rain
It wasn’t even
The beginning of winter
And yet some chillness
Drew them closer...
The heart rained
For the first time
The eyes spread the warmth
The body gleaned into the environs
The mild chillness after the rain
And the warmth thereafter
Of a make-believe world
Within the world known(?)

Whispering Forest
You are a whispering forest
Enchanting, dusky, intense,
Inviting, wild boreal scent,
Unfathomable, hearty and dense.
You are a murmuring ocean,
Swarming with fish, recondite,
I swim in your azure water,
Along your shore I glide on kite.
You are the rain in the desert,
Lightning and thunder of the storm,
And the calm dawning, fresh and clear,
The flowers springing from the corm.
And you are a redeeming monsoon,
The grace lighting lamps on the moon.
