Wizards of Illusion
Common sense?
Those who are discovered with it,
Are rare.
And leaves those believing...
An ivy league school,
Is where one can get this.
At someone's foolish expense.
With a jealousy directed to a few...
Who obtain scholarships.
As if this promotes and bestows,
An advantage for others that does not exist.
But common sense goes unused,
Frequently...
By those trying to fit their feet...
In shoes too small,
And minds unprepared...
To explain how they are ever going to wear them!

The Seafarer's Diary; Berceuse: #1
As I cast
My soliloquized nets over
The ravaging seas
In fathoms, it occurred to me like fire
That the sea
And I hold
Different, halted breaths.
I listened to the sea
On my forlorn boat,
The sea’s delightful wind
Stifling my hair in a mad strife.
The sea – desiccated wryness:
The stillness, the sea’s demise
After a parade of waves
Is what enrages me the most.
I careen towards the wooden flail
Of the boat and there
I sojourned to listen to myself

Sweet welcome summer night
Sweet welcome summer night
Brought in the breezes that waft
Across the port of coolness where waves sleep
Lights flicker on Saint Angelo lazily.
The night is dreaming, the night is dreaming.
Far far inward the Bighi lights
Flicker red and white and red predominant
Into the long night
The long and winding night
As in a tunnel of drowsiness
In the long silence that hovers
Over the small cemetery unused.
The night is dreaming, the night is dreaming quite.
The night is leaning, looking over the rails
From the Upper Barracca on the port

Death at Home
I entered the silent house
and saw my sister in the kitchen,
brooding over tepid dishwater, sipping beer,
slipping away from her pain,
as her sons, in the dusky back room,
door ajar, stroked his hair and gazed
in wonder at this spent, peaceful man,
and there I saw it,
the detritus of cancer,
spent oxygen bottles, bedpans,
unused morphine patches,
and there I felt it,
his quietus
filling the room,
thick, cutting, invisible
insistent.
So silently I took my nephews

Edited Piece
the structure of
life and our belief system
must be simplified:
yes, there is man
and up there is heaven
and down there is earth,
it is very much like
the Japanese flower
arrangement, and come to
think of it,
the woman stands up
and registers
an objection:
'where is my place? '
actually, this makes no
sense, this poem
it is the lull of time unused
the rhythm

Lull
the structure of

The Bed
the bed is all that matters now
it has become the central solution
to all the problems of the house
I agree with Freud after all he made sense
for all those troubling years of his lifetime
that to all these marital misunderstandings
the bed has always been the solution
why do wives leave their husbands?
simply because of the unused bed
where time has been spent mostly for sleeping
now, i have felt what father used to confide
that the bed, yes the bed, is always the solution
even when both of them are nearing their 60s
and father did all the bed grooming
at my age now i must agree
i must say i completely agree

Pure Fairness
Fairest beauty by blotch of lust untouched
That shimmers like still lakes of early morn
And not a wave to stir upon is forged
Thus before her, randiness be forlorn
And all that beauty that does cover you
Ne'er shall lust brag thou wander in its cool
Nor a phallus disgrace thy glorious blue
Nor a dropp of red ooze from thy sealed pool
Let the soiled and coital maidens behold
Such pureness their bragging shall never own
Such flawless beauty to raunch unsold
Be ungraspable by their filthy own
Behold, sweet fairness unmarked, scenic and pure
Behold, her - to these lines the pristined muse,
She's the coax to lust - and a wasted lure
Behold! , sweet fairness by lust unused.

To My Friend
I can’t change you but I will try;
You are my friend and you know why;
If wise, you must certainly cry!
With remorse, atone for a while.
Good men suffer for venial sins;
Here on Earth, not in hellish kilns;
Tongue has no bones; words must not mince;
A true water-fish has some fins.
Pleasures are not always the same;
Our emotions must become tame;
To enjoy joys, sorrows must call!
Life’s ups and downs, happen to all.
Born in this world, improve thine soul;
Prepare for the next Life- our goal;
A mansion-life, isn’t saintly one!
Bend, thou must ‘fore you arise, son.

Hollow-Thunk Love
deep despicable entity oh how you spite me
to feel this in your core on a microscopic level
ions neutrons atoms molecules
serotonin receptors collapse beneath burden
like structures made from sugar
every little epicenter jounces with it
resonating startling familiarity
and it is stupid hollow-thunk love
air dense and reeking with humidity
fresh virginal unused
it smells like careless chlorination
a swimming pool tryst among fallen leaves
acid alternative enunciations
we leave our footprints on the windows
and we know when to leave
and we know what to say
and we know what to do
