Of Uprightness and Sincerity
Wouldst thou be very upright and sincere?
Wouldst thou be that within thou dost appear,
Or seem to be in outward exercise
Before the most devout, and godly wise?
Yea, art thou thus when no eye doth thee see
But that which is invisible? and be
The words of God in truth thy prop and stay?
And do they in thy conscience bear more sway
To govern thee in faith and holiness,
Than thou canst with thy heart and mouth express?
And do the things that truly are divine,
Before thee more than gold or rubies shine?
And if, as unto Solomon, God should
Propound to thee, What wouldst thou have? how would

The Two Angels
God called the nearest angels who dwell with Him above:
The tenderest one was Pity, the dearest one was Love.
'Arise,' He said, 'my angels! a wail of woe and sin
Steals through the gates of heaven, and saddens all within.
'My harps take up the mournful strain that from a lost world swells,
The smoke of torment clouds the light and blights the asphodels.
'Fly downward to that under world, and on its souls of pain,
Let Love drop smiles like sunshine, and Pity tears like rain!'
Two faces bowed before the Throne, veiled in their golden hair;
Four white wings lessened swiftly down the dark abyss of air.
The way was strange, the flight was long; at last the angels came
Where swung the lost and nether world, red-wrapped in rayless flame.
There Pity, shuddering, wept; but Love, with faith too strong for fear,
Took heart from God's almightiness and smiled a smile of cheer.

Thinking of the Past
In an idle hour I thought of former days;
And former friends seemed to be standing in the room.
And then I wondered 'Where are they now?'
Like fallen leaves they have tumbled to the Nether Springs.
Han Yu swallowed his sulphur pills,
Yet a single illness carried him straight to the grave.
Yüan Chen smelled autumn stone
But before he was old, his strength crumbled away.
Master Tu possessed the 'Secret of Health':
All day long he fasted from meat and spice.
The Lord Ts'ui, trusting a strong drug,
Through the whole winter wore his summer coat.
Yet some by illness and some by sudden death ...
All vanished ere their middle years were passed.
Only I, who have never dieted myself
Have thus protracted a tedious span of age,
I who in young days
Yielded lightly to every lust and greed;
Whose palate craved only for the richest meat

Bible Stories: Job (Chapter XI)
Zophar, the Naamathite then spoke:
Should not your queries be answered?
Should garrulous be always right?
Should one’s babblings silence others?
Should none rebuke your ridicule?
You mean your statements are correct!
Do you then say, ‘I am so clean! ’
If only God does speak to you
And says, ‘wisdom is far effective! ’
And makes you answer for your guilt.
Can you unravel God’s designs?
You dare vie with the perfect God!
Wisdom is higher than heavens,
And deeper than the nether world;
’Tis broader than the ocean’s span,
And longer than earth’s dimensions.

Arakoon
Lo! in storms, the triple-headed
Hill, whose dreaded
Bases battle with the seas,
Looms across fierce widths of fleeting
Waters beating
Evermore on roaring leas!
Arakoon, the black, the lonely!
Housed with only
Cloud and rain-wind, mist and damp;
Round whose foam-drenched feet and nether
Depths, together
Sullen sprites of thunder tramp!
There the East hums loud and surly,
Late and early,
Through the chasms and the caves,
And across the naked verges
Leap the surges!
White and wailing waifs of waves.

Good Poetry
Yes and to prove it as natural flow
I get the inspiration when remember the almighty and bow
I think about nothing when poetical thoughts invade
I just plough the land with spade........
I plant the seeds not with any kind of greed
But with only intention to feed
It may be called pure deed
But later on to prove as human need
There is no technique or any ground rules
It comes in mind without any schedule
Poetry is god gift and can’t be mastered
It is not donated or freely offered
You can only construct the vague thoughts
As you encounter the enemy to be suddenly fought
If you can pick and gather it in right spirit
It may easily be put on paper or sheet

A Buddhist speaks: a man listens, drinks
‘The burning flames of anger have parched the stream of my being.
The thick darkness of illusion has blinded my intelligence.
My consciousness drowns in torrents of desire.
The mountain of pride has flung me into the nether worlds.
The driving blizzard of envy has dragged me into samsara.
The demon of belief in the ego has me firmly by the throat.’
(Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche)
[samsara = the flow of the world] ]

Oh Dilgo! You too? And you,
high in the snowy mountains, in a thriving monastery,
surrounded by devotion, love, study, meditation, prayer…
what hope for me and us, if this is what you find in you?
Then I remember your serene and smiling face,
untrammelled, unaffected, giving, and compassionate;

Bible Stories: Job (Chapter XIV)
Job Continues:
Eve-born, man’s life is transient,
And full of troubles, incessant;
Akin a flower sprung, that fades
Or shadow swift that not abides.
How can you pick on such a one,
And bring to judgment for things done?
Can there be found a man all clean,
And undefiled in life, who’s been?
His days and months are numbers fixed,
The limits which he cannot pass!
Like hireling, he passes his day;
So, let him be and look away.
Even a tree has hope if cut,
It sprouts again with tender shoot;
Although in earth, grown old is root,

Aurobindo 45 Savitri Book 2
The Book of the Traveller of the Worlds Canto Eight: The
World of Falsehood, the Mother of Evil
and the Sons of Darkness
'Then could he see the hidden heart of Night: '
'A Nature that denied the eternal Truth
In the vain braggart freedom of its thought
Hoped to abolish God and reign alone.
There was no sovereign Guest, no witness Light; '..
Yes, man versus man in ceaseless armageddon is trendy
'Unhelped it would create its own bleak world.'
'Evil and pain begot a monstrous soul.'
'A shadow substance into emptiness came,
Dim forms were born in the unthinking Void'
'In whose black folds Being imagined Hell.'
'It was the gate of a false Infinite,
An eternity of disastrous absolutes,
An immense negation of spiritual things.'
'Immense negation...'an expression apropose

You Are # 3
You are a ray of hope on a cloudy day
You are the rhythmic beat that makes my body move in a strange way
You are the sunshine that dries up all the rain
You are the song that I want to hear again and again
You are the dream that when I wake I have a smile on my face
You are the stage for my emotions to showcase
You’re more beautiful than any landscape far or near
You’re more complex than words from William Shakespeare
You are as pure as the white sands on a West Indian beach
You are as ripe as a Georgia peach
You are the mountain's majesty that takes my breath away
You are the gleam in a child's eyes on Christmas day
You are the joy felt on the birth of newborn babies
You are a precious find no ifs, buts, or maybes
You are the heavens above vast and infinite
You are my strawberry covered with chocolate
