Ode To A Demoted Flow

Energy I once had I thought to be everlasting,
Has slowed.
Each day I get up to quickly seek rest,
From all the mindlessness that gets me upset.
And yet...
Even an ode to a demoted flow,
Can not perk up an interest to feed and digest...
An appetite I had when young,
When someone stunning on my path had come....
To excite those forgotten and dormant feelings.

Even an ode to a demoted flow,
Can not stir up a request...
From anyone I wish to hold close.
To then whisper lowly under a slightly heard breath,
A patience be granted upon me to be bestowed.
While I digress in the hopes,
A part of me will remember what it was I did next...
Once I had a clear vision of being aroused!

Ode to a Firefly

Firefly
fly so high
just to know
you're alright
crashing down
to the ground
firefly
you're not alright

your charade
does portray
endless light
like you're alright
firefly
in the sky
no one sees
the other side

firefly
constant lies

His Monument

Horace: Book III, Ode 30

"Exegi monumentum aere perennius---"

The monument that I have built is durable as brass,
And loftier than the Pyramids which mock the years that pass.
No blizzard can destroy it, nor furious rain corrode--
Remember, I'm the bard who built the first Horatian Ode.

I shall not altogether die; a part of me's immortal.
A part of me shall never pass the mortuary portal;
And when I die my fame shall stand the nitric test of time--
The fame of me of lowly birth, who built the lofty rhyme!

Ay, fame shall be my portion when no trace there is of me,
For I first madeÆolian songs the songs of Italy.
Accept I pray, Melpomene, my modest meed of praise,
And crowm my thinning, graying locks with wreathes of Delphic bays!

We will survive

Our bantam scow drifts aimlessly
And clouds rise up before her bow
We hold our course tenaciously
Not knowing how

A scow she is and scow she’ll be
Her cargo is our very soul
Our tiny vessel on the sea
Has lost control

The sea of life is filled with pain
And rages as the storm appears
A cancer we cannot restrain
Confirms our fears

The tendrils of the sea seep in
And wraps its self about our helm
Destroying flesh and rotting skin
It’s cancer’s realm

The maritime ode

When the ship sails away,
leaving the quay with space widening
setting a course into the sea
aiming somewhere over the blue beyond
a memory starts lingering in my mind,
about a time that I had experienced
this leaving before
embarked into the wide world
from a timeless place not divided by space,
maybe from somewhere in another galaxy
but still a place that exists

of which all other quays are entities,
links to worlds outside our own atmosphere
and at twilight in the early morning
on the pier
the silence runs deep
as if all sounds are quelled for a time
and with the rising sun
sound roars thundering,

Ode to the dragon

I was inspired to express my love for dragons in old-English.
This ode which is called an irregular ode glorifies the dragon.
In Asiatic cultures, dragons are worshiped for their wisdom and longevity.

Though thy teeth be sharp, and thy claws great, waste not thy strength on me,
for thy beauty doth pierce mine heart worse than any wound.

Do not waste thy breath upon me, for I burn already a passion far greater than I can bear.

Oh dragon, hold back not thine beauty from mine eyes any longer, spread thy wings for me, let me see thy grace, thy majesty, thy glory complete!

Though thy scales turn away the sword, they can not turn away my love for thee.
Though thy wings block the sun, they can not block mine thoughts so bright of thee.
Though thy eyes stare death, I...only have eyes... for thee.

The Ode for Johnny Bravo

I don't know how to write an Ode
but you inspired my fingers to type.
I don't know who the hell you are
nor who the diapered baby with the arrow is
But I saw you around on Monday
and passed close to you on Tuesday
On Wednesday I almost crashed into your
Parked poem in lot number five
Thursday was strange, you were different
and on Friday you were back again
Saturday Poem by Bravo scares me
and on Sunday it melts me again

So, I just said to myself

This Johnny Guy deserves a poem
Not written by his own state of mind
And he'll probably laugh and say
Hey you, that poem sucks..
But I don't care about that,

An Ode to Anna Russell, On Her Birthday

here is an ode to Anna Russell
with a wriggly jiggly bum that is really all muscle
and with a mind that is dancing all of the time
she's a tequila mockingbird with a twist of lime

tipsy in her highest heels
Paul Newman yet appeals
an optimist with endless hugs
(except for certain types of bugs)
she'd never live in that little town
and red letters unwanted don't get her down
proud Mom and a hardy Scot
slender dreams and broken heart
blank pages don't cause her fear
she leaves us all with a perfect tear
honest truths written beautifully
many lovers she has - of her poetry
And if you haven't read her stuff
you've been warned - fair enough
get on over, hurry and see

A Ode Poem To You

My mother gave me an ode poem, oh how I love that poem
The scene of her perfume on it, the picture of me in her arms
This letter I keep with me all the time, I love it so much I sleep with it under my pillow
To her nice hand writing, to the black ink she wrote in, she wrote until her ink went low

My poem is great, my poem is wonderful, to the white paper she wrote on it’s beautiful
To the green words of the title, my poem she gave me is the best
I love how she gave the lip stick print on the top of my poem, sad to say she's at rest
I will always love the poem she gave to me before she passed

To the words in the poem she gave me will always endure
Word by word my lovely poem is speaking to me gratefully
This ode poem was from my mom and for only me sincerely
I love my poem, oh how wonderful it can be

Its so wonderful do you want to read,
Take a look, take a look and you will see
