0243 The Sonnet

Why is this sonnet form so dear to me?
this silent cloister of the singing heart
where I may be myself in sanctity
yet meet beloved strangers there in art;

a shape like some great arch across the world
where every word has music in its sound;
a place like prayer, inner maze uncurled
to find a pattern in that measured ground;

a conversation with tomorrow's friends
of all we know but seldom talk about;
a haven in a time that never ends;
a love that's now a whisper, now a shout;

- to final couplet, falling heaven-blest
to stillness, in that space where all things rest.

A Hybrid Of Man

Confessional truth
is not my aggressive ego,
it is my fault.
The resolution of my conflicts with time,
the smell of the broken limbs,
my head in hoisted fever,
my eyes searching for a cloud.

The ultimate otherness,
of an idea baffles me.
Charity creates the misery,
you seek a window,
not the sky.
Looking for the gods,
enjoying the sweet depression,
of a pseudo-hurt.

I wanted the sanctity of a tree,
full of fragrant bloom.
To break the spell of hot arguments,

33 - Dirty Linen

Dirty linen hanging on the line
Mistress romps spilled red wine
Extra overtime and late nights
Blood stained gutters and fist fights
Secret whispers behind closed doors
The speculation you try to ignore
Your life and lies become black listed
People you hurt wish u never existed
Dirty linen hanging out to dry
The sanctity of marriage cheating ways defy
Mistress romps spilled red wine
$2 a minute sex hot-line
The smell of cheap perfume lipstick collars
Meaningless love for a night, a fistful of dollars
The cause of her pain and dulling heartache
The vow of marriage this man did break

A Cry from the Gate

A belly, heaving, a body that shivered in cold
A cry so distant, piecing hearts gone cold
Its head, veins ran like ropes, tying fire wood

An alarm it raised, a siren it blew
A mother, cold hearted, a mother who knew
The initial journey, when it started out of blue.

A life, brought, to a world, his dreams knew not
Instinctual desires, comprehension, not
Reflex for survival, steamed, energized, death, here, not

A nun, a Virgin Mary, had never experienced child making
A cry from the gate, pieced her heart, in sanctity, reached, and carrying
The baby, in her armpits, forehead kissed, a new window opening.

Sonnet: The Cemetery

My father's blood is coursing through my veins;
His virtuous life goads me do greater things;
His condescension in my heart too reigns;
I want to join his band of great earthlings.

The man of conscience is edifice;
The man who's duty-bound is praise-worthy;
The liar lolls in his own artifice;
Remaining unsightly to God-earthy.

The grave is just an outward show of men!
But lies within it, Truth, untruth, buried;
Let sanctity remain; Lets say, 'AMEN';
When earth grows weeds, how long can one unweed?

Let practice stay second to doing deeds;
The soil matters, equally falling seeds.

I Sat Down

If suns and stars sat nearby,
I'd run away and starve my head;
For heat is a mild feeling
Now that ice has melted away.
This called the day an awakening
As yesterday would've concealed Time.
My doubts are in my bed,
Never to be me with sleep,
For I dream forever this way.
You style the pencil to meet aside,
Between you and me is sanctity,
And sacred chambers heighten me
For I hold my pen in ways of gold.
The real gold, not fool's gold,
Is carried in my hand.
My rings especially conserve the eyes,
For sparkles are fonder.
My heaven lies under soil
That came from home,
I escape the theft of my age.

Hopefully Come Cascading

we work on some secret codes
you put the letter folding into three

rebellious
satirical
bully

i am, i am that reality subsumed bone-like
enticing

revealing sanctity
bonfire

you keep on telling space: i love you
i desire all of you
crush me, make love to me, bend me,
you kneel and worship
my humility cries
like some rain dripping from my lips
you love this game of the gods of love

Tender Moments

The sun ablazing
Birds a chirping
Together sing a couplet
Cat mewing
Wolf howling
Bees humming
Going about their work
A bell tingling
Pleasant sound to the ears.

I hear voices from yonder
Frightening sounds
I fail to understand
I blink my eyes
Too scared to open
To see and comprehend
Suppressed a sob.

An angelic touch
Warm to my skin

The Fake Smile

‘The smile’ floating on tears
Mock joy wishing to overcome
Shadow of grief and solitude
Fighting all alone with the memories
As a lonely warrior in battle field
Heart loses the control on the beam
At last smile faints, loses its gleam
Eyes, gloomy tells story of its own
In an awkward silence the smile drowns
Tries to swim across the tears alone
Defeated finally! Tears roll on my cheeks
Smile vanishes, endeavors its best to shine
To hide his trouble stakes its sanctity.
Ruled the face for years, those loathed tears

Forgotten smile lost into tears years ago
Has returned today with an immense glow

Sonnet: Holy Matrimony

When two bodies, minds and hearts, God unites
In Holy Matrimony in His name,
In bond of light's sanctity, He ignites
The two forever to remain the same!

And no man dare to dis-join them at all!
The nuptial knot is sacred beyond words;
For earthly journey as two, 'tis God's call;
God's proclamation comes by tongue of swords!

But Lo! Some divorce as if by habit!
God won't forgive the mortal sin with ease;
No man declares one spouse as one unfit,
Except when proved by obstinate disease!

What God has joined, let no man put aside;
Better for man, woman in God abide!
