Quotes about lasted, page 9
Easy Come, Easy Go II
For a moment they thought it would last forever,
But even strongest of bonds have to sever,
While it lasted they had eachother whenever,
It did not matter wherever,
When people talked they said-whatever,
They know not who pulled their lever,
Their hearts now embrass an un-dying fever,
They never felt that deep for another ever,
They parted ways and will meet never.

A Relationship That Lasts
the stone and the sun
made a pact
that everyday they must see
each other eye to eye
without blinking whatever
the truth may be
the grasses have nothing to say
on this enduring fidelity
the brooks still flowed without
an obstruction
the flowers are smiling and the
trees are interested
one is too hot while the other is too numb
of course, it lasted
happiness is not the issue anyway

A Thunderstorm in Town
She wore a 'terra-cotta' dress,
And we stayed, because of the pelting storm,
Within the hansom's dry recess,
Though the horse had stopped; yea, motionless
We sat on, snug and warm.
Then the downpour ceased, to my sharp sad pain,
And the glass that had screened our forms before
Flew up, and out she sprang to her door:
I should have kissed her if the rain
Had lasted a minute more.

These Memories
These Memories
These memories have been welded into my heart
The tears, the laughs, the smiles, and the rides in a shopping cart
I know that nothing lasts forever
But I’m glad this lasted a while
These memories that I’ve had with you all
Will always make me smile
Now that everything is said and done
I slowly walk away
With the hopes of a better tomorrow
I see you all today.

Poem Attack
Poem, having grown teeth,
Somehow got out of a notebook
That lay on a dusty shelf,
And jumped me.
Its assault lasted an infinity.
It honed in on my hand,
Ripping to the root a
Penile finger, which action,
I think, gave it the idea
Of hitting me below the belt.
The doctor in hospital
Moving my bandages away,
Mechanically asked,
'Do you smoke? '
'That ain't the half of it, '
I answered.

As tree
If option is given to you
How best you can prove it as true?
Would you prefer to see it later and view?
Life may be lasted in few years
Some of the things may not be pleasant to ears
Even insects pass the time easily
Dogs bark at strangers
But they are still good protectors
We bark at friends as cheaters
What the ideal life then should be?
Let others also feel it open and free
Act with laden fruits as tree

You were once a good dream
You were once a good dream
And what a good team
We made while it lasted
You were once a good dream
You cooked up some steam
And had me flabbergasted
You were once a good dream
Now like a stream
Flowing out is what I not ever forecasted
And dreams come true
Then later disappear in the blue
Now another is waiting in my queue
I only hope it will be as delightful as you

Understanding
The years of my youth, my sensual life --
how clearly I see their meaning now.
What needless repentances, how futile....
But I did not understand the meaning then.
In the dissolute life of my youth
the desires of my poetry were being formed,
the scope of my art was being plotted.
This is why my repentances were never stable.
And my resolutions to control myself, to change
lasted for two weeks at the very most.

The Memory Of Love
The memory of love can never die.
It lingers in the heart.
It may have happened way in your past
but you remember how it did start.
Whether it lasted or came to an end
it still is the memory that counts.
It made an impression.
It was an expression.
It became a possession for you.
You will never forget it. It lingers on
and becomes part of who you are.
For the memory of love is a gift to you
so keep it close, never far.

Gravy Train
Many more will find it easier,
To hop off the fence.
Once they have convinced themselves...
That sitting on it,
Makes little sense.
That practice had lasted too long...
With some appearing as if monuments.
As others claimed they had evidence,
To prove scarecrows can't fly...
They just sit making noises,
As time goes by!
While others from a different flock...
Fall asleep,
Awaiting the arrival of a gravy train.
