Quotes about midway, page 9

Her personality? Her identity?

There it is, all of it.
Gone, and never ever coming back, ever.
It felt like she was throwing away her most prized poession.
She wondered what the new one would be like?
Obviously nothing like the old one, she knew that.
No one liked the bubbly, friendly, sweet girl inside her.
Instead they wanted her to be a boring serious woman with no fun in her life,
If that's what you could even call it - a life.
She never understood why her family never liked her personality,
It was who she was, what made her, her identity.
But now they'd changed her.
Her friends never realized the change in her, as while with them she pretended nothing was different and tried to act as normal as before.
To them she was still the girl who found the funny side of everything and the girl who always had a smile on her face.
She wasn't though, it was all an act, for she no longer felt the warm glow deep inside her when she saw the smiling faces of her friends and family, no, now she felt a dark hatred feeling like something was missing or lost,
And to find it she must find herself, her true identity.
What was her true identity? The question stuck midway on her tongue.
Never to be spoken, yet never to disappear.

January

Start wooing with all the clocks chiming,
Slip the slippery seconds around earth,
And dance with the skies in celebration,
All from pulse to breathe, and to new birth.

January, the first light of another year,
And the glory of that maiden orbit,
Wake silently from golden dust to appear,
A long time coming; we had known it.

After taking down the decorations,
Give chances for the changing course,
To breathe New Year’s resolutions,
And as it grows, given hope a chance.

A brimful of dreams watches all doors opens,
Letting hope in and visions lets out more,
But so long as January defines what begins,
It has the key to mingle with pleasure.

Hello 2010

2010, we hold hands, praying
Massacre and suicide bombing
Will not be the new screenplay
For the live audience, at bay

Economic uprising would be the hope
For many around the globe
Putting food on the table
Shouldn’t be a gamble

The hole in the sky
Is the key to the word, die
Unless we resolve the cause
At all costs

Black, color and white
The pride of humanities world wide
Nothing is above God
Race supremacy should be left to rot

The Lakeside

The shadows round the inland sea
Are deepening into night;
Slow up the slopes of Ossipee
They chase the lessening light.
Tired of the long day's blinding heat,
I rest my languid eye,
Lake of the Hills! where, cool and sweet,
Thy sunset waters lie!

Along the sky, in wavy lines,
O'er isle and reach and bay,
Green-belted with eternal pines,
The mountains stretch away.
Below, the maple masses sleep
Where shore with water blends,
While midway on the tranquil deep
The evening light descends.

So seemed it when yon hill's red crown,
Of old, the Indian trod,

No to worry

I worry too much about life
It causing me unwanted strife
Please lend me a helping hand
And to rewrite what I planned

I need to talk to God and pray
He will help me find my way
His light will cleanse my soul
And his love will make whole…….James F. Cunningham

You worry about unwanted things
Some precious moments are missed for nothing
For the want of mental satisfaction
Where as you got to justify your action

Why you need to talk to lord?
He is all the time near you as god
Guides you to behave in responsible manner
So you are not troubled and feel as such lesser

Set to sail

I was all set to move and sail
Fearing it may be stalled and sometime fail
Ideas rush to mind and create tension
Nothing is impossible but still big question

It is matter of pride but relate to significance
It may have more credit and importance
Small things don’t matter much in process
But highly appreciated when find easy access

I struggled very hard to make the headway
Faced the resistance and was left midway
Continued to strive more without feeling bad
Many times it leads to the situation very sad

Everybody may not have situation very similar
Long drawn fight with rough weather in particular
May end into fiasco or complete disaster
Forcing him to rise above everything to become town’s master

698. Make me a drunkard! 041009

They say, ‘be happy and be away from people unhappy’
But how can I pretend to be happy when I am not happy?
I wonder how joy will spring from my heart
When I have not realized truth but in dark?

To be joyful and to give joy, they say
Love is the only means; but to my dismay
I have not tasted true Love in this world
To my eyes all relations are mere trade!

Cinderella’s misery was no more as she met
The prince with true love and a heart wet
She jerked away all her relations false
To unite the prince in a private place

I know my dearest beloved! You are within!
I shut all the doors made up of my thick skin
The five senses and the brain store of thoughts
To make my heart a lovely bed for sweet nights!

Shadow river

MUSKOKA

A stream of tender gladness,
Of filmy sun, and opal tinted skies;
Of warm midsummer air that lightly lies
In mystic rings,
Where softly swings
The music of a thousand wings
That almost tones to sadness.

Midway 'twixt earth and heaven,
A bubble in the pearly air, I seem
To float upon the sapphire floor, a dream
Of clouds of snow,
Above, below,
Drift with my drifting, dim and slow,
As twilight drifts to even.

The little fern-leaf, bending
Upon the brink, its green reflection greets,

Sadhasivam Falls In Andhra

In a tranquil morn
we tramped over the moors.
“ Where are those tweeting birds
and the animals striking awe? ”
We trudged through the jungle
minding not the twingle at our feet.
The cloudy clime and moist
paralysed our lungs.
We hurried through the tunnel of plants
and we had the sun our hope.
With sweating ascent and steep descent,
Our hope to see the feet of the Lord weakened.
We trod on one another’s heels
and our transistors allayed our fears.
On rocks at times we sat for rest
and walked and walked exhausting snacks.

“ O what a cascading falls
glittering near the abode of God! ”
someone cried and surged over the vale.

The Hueless Love

Unto that love must we through fire attain,
Which those two held as breath of common air;
The hands of whom were given in bond elsewhere;
Whom Honour was untroubled to restrain.

Midway the road of our life's term they met,
And one another knew without surprise;
Nor cared that beauty stood in mutual eyes;
Nor at their tardy meeting nursed regret.

To them it was revealed how they had found
The kindred nature and the needed mind;
The mate by long conspiracy designed;
The flower to plant in sanctuary ground.

Avowed in vigilant solicitude
For either, what most lived within each breast
They let be seen: yet every human test
Demanding righteousness approved them good.
