Quotes about monsoon, page 9

Prelude to autumn! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

As the monsoon recedes, with vengeance
Sun livid strikes back, but gives up pretence
By mid noon, it retreats and westwards race,
Far from city scape, it slips leaving no trace.

Dusk falls at six, in blows a gentle breeze.
Festive season on, feel like drape silk weaves.
House is plunged in the darkness, but moon beams
Gently descend and rest on leaves it seems.

My upturned face is touched by their caress
Palm fronds swing and night strolls in at its pace.
Cicadas have made a quiet exit with the rain,
I embrace the quiet; no background score or strains.

Forgotten Fertility Myth

Pranab k c
27/06/2011

a deep depression
carries monsoon again
its raining
five days at a stretch
day and night
she is wet

her chastity
waiting to be ploughed
soil so soft
to be mould in creation

plough hard
my peasant friend
pour dropp to form seed

your personal rain

Sonnet-Time Is The Healer

Who can upset a heart upset enough?
What can a whip mean to a tired horse?
To smokers long, matters not, one more puff;
All things still happen if Heavens endorse.

How can a twig lone save a drowning man?
Can salt hurt more a wounded man in brine?
Order the Monsoon Winds to stop, who can?
To one athirst, Gall can taste like good wine!

A hungry Lion eats a mouse or shrew;
Our senses even have their limits too;
Unduely unkind is life to a few;
Beyond limits, there's nothing, you can do.
If struggled, we had to our level best,
'Tis time to forget things and take good rest.

And the Waters Come Raging

And the waters come raging
like a month-long monsoon
spreading their fury in minutes
and seconds, making busy streets
of shops and houses into
deep sea of mud and graves.

And the waters come raging
like a giant thief in the night
unwanted, unexpected
stamping down on trees,
animals, cars and humans
flushing them out like
manure to a tunnel without light.

And the waters come raging
with the screams and cries
of the stranded on rooftops
the tears of those who cannot
save and find their loved ones,

Wounds On Soul

Some tears
I think,
Would never dry.
Like days after days of monsoon
Forever would make me cry.
The tears
you handed me.
Unknowingly,
Very lovingly,
Yet unwipable
For a lifetime of me.

Some wounds
I think,
Would never heal.
Like a live volcano
Forever will make me bleed.
Those wounds
You inflicted.
Unknowingly,

Washed away.

Unleash your powers... to complete your gain,
drench us all...in the healing, of your monsoon like rain.
Consciences cleared with every single rain drop,
flooding of your wild passions... never ceasing to stop.
Barriers and our levy`s begin to break,
Our lust filled lands all turned into your love of all life, filled lake.
Streams silently seducing... there very lows,
all underground to what...only Mother Nature knows.
Rivers rage with there currents and strength,
Man made land... scared along its entire length.
To the sea, in a wash of our waste,
water to water, to rid the land of Mans bad taste.

Afternoon Flow Of Linking Thoughts

there you are
pain and its protrusions

creeks to rivers
and tributaries like

fingers of the hands
into thy chest to listen

to the whispers of the
heart the sea and the

ocean to become whole
again to be not noticed

as pain and its protrusions
but wagering waves friends

of the monsoon winds
slaves of the lights of the moon

Don't waste the food..

Dusty roads are many, where gutsy people walk,
Muddy paths are countless, where trusting lives live,
On the embankments of river, ravine and monsoon canals,
Millions of babies formed, born, grown and give birth,
We are the tough species to conquer any other species,
We have come a long way not to make it a short exit,
Let us celebrate our victory with the mother earth,
Where her treasure are being stolen for our mirth,
Diamond cuts a diamond; a heart wounds a heart,
We, human, hurt our fellow human for our greed,
Millions roam on the urban jungle for the food,
Millions throw the food into the bin as a fad.

I touched my father’s heart

Today
My heart shuddered for
My two month old son, my first born,
Fallen ill…
I touched my father’s heart,
That once throbbed for me,
Down numberless days and nights,
Whenever I fell ill…
Ages ago…
I touched my father’s heart,
That has sailed through
Thrice and more attacks…
That has gathered icebergs
To block the flow…
I touched my father’s heart
When my little first born
Touched his first illness,
And struggled for breath
In the frozen monsoon nights…
At the fringe of ages,

Sonnet: Life’s A Mix

The sky is blue with fluffy clouds and clear;
It rained all cats and dogs till yesterday;
Bird-melodies on nearby trees, I hear;
How long it will thus stay, no one can say.

The mid-day sun is scorching on each head;
It looks like summer ’midst rainy weather;
The drought had left cattle and plants much dead!
Let Heaven send the monsoon rain, brother!

In life will come both joys and sorrows too;
To stay balanced, we need both friend and foe;
Just take the things as they come up to you;
Our earthly life, we must thus undergo.

But things do happen for the good of all;
God helps each one to get up aft’r a fall!
