On Reading Mythili's Journey To Himalayas
On reading my friend MYTHILY'S
'A Journey-from the depths of the mind
to the Heights of Himalayas.'
This day across an article
Chanced I, eftsoons to dwell,
An article, presented by my friend—
It was a laudable marvel-so well!
About her holy pilgrimage
To Himalayas—Lord Shiva's Abode;
Over-powering many a tribulation
That beset her, as she strode.
Many a gripping travelogue,
Written by luminaries eminent,
Have I gone through and through,
But the sentiment there was always worldly-bent!
But this fluid rendition excelled most,

Thermoregulation in Winter Moths
How do the winter moths survive when other moths die? What enables them to avoid freezing as they rest, and what makes it possible for them to fly -- and so to seek food and mates -- in the cold?
Bernd Heinrich, Scientific American
1. The Himalayas
The room lies there, immaculate, bone light
on white walls, shell-pink carpet, and pale, too,
are the wrists and hands of professors gathered
in the outer hall where behind darkness
and a mirror they can observe unseen.
They were told: high in the Himalayas
Buddhist monks thrive in sub-zero cold
far too harsh for human life. Suspended
in the deep grace of meditation, they raise
their body heat and do not freeze to death.
So five Tibetan monks have been flown
to Cambridge and the basement of Reed Hall.
They sit now with crossed legs and slight smiles,
and white sheets lap over their shoulders
like enfolded wings. The sheets are wet,

Keep Flowing
Between the closing dusk of sleep
and my descended night
I catch a spotlit vision
of living water glistening:
at times a pond of koi,
sometimes an overflowing cup,
a fountain, river or a flooded garden where I stand
gazing at my crystal feet
amongst the flowers.
Such visions come from down within the folds
and fissures of my brain,
dripping, trickling, rushing, and no one knows
the quantity of waters stored there, fed
by even deeper streams.
While deep within the ocean grows your brain
where nematodes and blind fish
swim and search among voluted fissures,
where bubbles from deep cracks and crevices

I'm Gone
Writer Dolly Parton
Some chewing gum and candy, some magazines and snacks,
Some startin' over money that I've been holdin' back,
A change of clothes and notepad to write a letter back to say so long
A one-way ticket sayin' good-bye to everything
Threw my weddin' band out the window of the train
All I want's my freedom, reclaim my maiden name
I'm movin' on 'cause I'm gone
You can tell the truth or you can lie
You can say I left you or I died
Say I'm in the Himalayas on some spiritual quest
And could spend years lookin' for the light
Say I'm in the witness program with the F.B.I.,
Say a U.F.O. abducted me from home
You can say what you chose, but I tell you the truth
You can say for sure I'm gone, 'cause I'm gone
You think that you're above me, like I'm not good enough
You make me feel unwanted, unwelcome and unloved
You're selfish, vain and greedy; you're hateful, rude and rough
And you're so wrong

Selected Poems Of Dr. Mahendra Bhatnagar [2]
[1] O WINGED STEEDS OF DESTINY
O Winged steeds of Destiny!
Holding thy reins
With confidence
And with firm hands,
We will pull them
To give ye direction,
Every time!
Lustrous and indomitable,
We are the sons of the soil
We stand by the toil
We cherish the youthful vigour;
We will pull
Thy bridle — mind you —
To give ye direction,
Every time!
O ye, the sentinels and the stars foretelling!

Some of the waiters discuss the menu with you as if they were sharing wisdom picked up in the Himalayas.

If you like trekking, go to the Himalayas or Peru. I love those kinds of trips. But it all depends on your own life and what you like and what you expect.

Ode To Motherland
Thank The
Oh Lord
In lap placed
Where no one dares
High blue seas
On sides
Himalayas keep an eye on the tide
Rich in archives
Culture vibes
My Motherland
Nature revered
Revered are the stones
This my Motherland

the Himalayas or the Pacific?
Courtship- if not,
Friendship- at least,
Can you sanction
In our post parting?
Ungrateful
Are not all women;
Merciless
Are not all women;
To prove it, stand
An odd woman out.
In me your image
Is larger than the Himalayas.
Don’t plunge it to be
Deeper than the Pacific.

A Flower To Auroville Mother-35
Yellow Jasmine, (Italian Jasmine,
Jasminum humile)
Atlast, I've found her
Long-lasting fragrant
Pentapetaled brighter
A Jasmine so anticipant
Yellowy, godly rewarding
Daughter of Himalayas
Willowy angularly branching
Shrubby with pinnate leaves
A Jasmine so anticipant
Of respect and worship
Inviting charm and scent
Medicative sure a godship
