Lies About Tall Guys
Just seems like it’s that way to me
Taller guys seem to get executive jobs
Shorter guys work mostly as clerks
Taller guys never seem to be slobs
Shorter guys always seem to be jerks
Taller guys seem to get all of the action
Shorter guys seem to be quite invisible
Taller guys always seem to deserve satisfaction
Shorter guys are lonely and miserable
Just seems like it’s that way to me
Taller guys just seem born to play sports
Shorter guys kinda seem to like tennis
Taller guys certainly look better in shorts
Shorter guys look like Dennis the Menace

The Shorter Catechism
I burned my fingers on the stove
And wept with bitterness;
But poor old Auntie Maggie strove
To comfort my distress.
Said she: 'Think, lassie, how you'll burn
Like any wicked besom
In fires of hell if you don't learn
Your Shorter Catechism.'
A man's chief end is it began,
(No mention of a woman's),
To glorify--I think it ran,
The God who made poor humans.
And as I learned, I thought: if this--
(My distaste growing stronger),
The Shorter Catechism is,
Lord save us from the longer.
The years have passed and I begin
(Although I'm far from clever),

The Village Education
I love village education more than alphabet education
In my cerebrum, its higher than mountains
In my vein, its deeper than Oceans
It doesn’t requires literacy and numeracy skills
Only a grandma grandpa – storyteller to sit with
Seeds around the fire in evening in wet season on mates
Skins in dry season and narrates fairy stories, legends, fables, proverbs, songs, riddles, taboos, rituals and customs.
At night this oral literature pierces the mind with bitterness
As sixteen inch thorn pierces the foot.
At daytime it penetrates out of mind with sweetness
As honey touch the tongue.
In this oral literature, the thoughts and actions of animals are
My torch at daytime.
In this oral education, the thoughts and actions of elders are walking stick of my youth.
An ignorant child of village education is short-shorter to him self / herself shorter to myself.
An ignorant adult of his/ her culture is short- short

Scared And Lonely
as i sit here
scared and lonely
i here the
windows moaning
As i sit here
scared and lonely
i feel depression
grabbing me slowly
As I sit here
scared and lonely
life is getting shorter
if only minutely
As i sit here
scared and lonely
i CUT to make life
greatly shorter

I'm seeing
I'm seeing many people dying
I'm seeing people getting old
I'm seeing my own life unfold.
I'm seeing my children growing up
I'm seeing progress come in many ways
I'm seeing people I love, having shorter days
I'm seeing my own life getting shorter
I'm seeing a change in me
I'm seeing life clearly now, with glee.

Birth Discovered
Birth discovered
Universe talks
Come, do come my dear
History speaks
About you
I with clouds
Vanished discourse.
I was told
Not to go again
In this shape and size
Owning direction
With new set up
Opening doors and
New vistas.
Come come my dear
Come and see with
The eyes given
Come and hear with

Molten Grief
Give me back,
me back, my affections.
I had planted the kisses on
melting lamps.
The dark tunnel goes
to a lake for a rendezvous
with pink death on white lips
of cinders.
Such agony of wintering tree.
Not a single bird
on the branches to pump the green
blood for the wheels of time.
The speeding moon was in hurry,
to question the oppressed night.
Why the days were becoming
shorter and shorter?

Color Me Autumn
Clouds and glooms hang
Sunshine nowhere in sight.
Herein lies an autumn mood.
Daylight shorter and shorter,
darkness longer and longer,
trees know winter is nigh.
Fallen amber leaves make beds
bare trees-limbs just
as empty as my arms.
Green leaves disappeared,
yellow and orange appears.
Color despair and sadness
with a coat of autumn
Making winter the etching;
make spring the oil painting and
Autumn a mosaic of them all…
What luminous work of art!

The Most Important......
the plane trees
with their paws like a lion; s
live for a thousand years
the chest-nut trees
live for three thusand years
the cypress-trees are upright for five thousand years
even the poplars live for seven hundred years
in greenery and white
how shoprter we live my brethren
how shorter we live
how shorter
this must be an important problem
is adjusted and equal to the
longevity of the lives of the horses yet
even
we are not equally satisfied with
the cworkld as much as them
most of us
bear burdens heavier than the
burdens

Our Stay
I had known our stay,
Intending to return and tempt a rage;
In trouble the boys engaged in their ploys,
With more space and age.
I see from their apology a word
For the very illiterate,
And exposed:
One word shall seal the wars.
A family horse rides in with full glee,
Headlong battles have been attended,
And shorter times sell their energy,
Letting rage and nightmare enter.
My language descends on us all,
The know-er is afraid, and learns
To be wiser when his wage
Has depleted.
