Quotes about stub

Charles F. Kettering

You will never stub your toe standing still. The faster you go, the more chance there is of stubbing your toe, but the more chance you have of getting somewhere.

Stone

Hey stone on the ground
stubbed my toe on you.
Hey stone on the ground
it made me mad at you.
Picked you up, threw you far.
I should have put you in a jar.
Make you atone
you darn old stone.
You made me stub my toe.
Bet you didn't even know.

A Cigarette

I'd like to be the cigarette
You stub out in the tray,
You've had your kicks it's plain to see
And I have had my day,
But once you really wanted me
And where there's smoke there's fire,
The lipstick on me shows I was
Your object of desire!

A pleasant mood of a ragged Angel!

A street child smiled
As a Lottery Winner!
And I inquired.
She has found a pencil stub
and an eraser
in a trash bin?

Quantum Entanglement

i cannot tell

whether you take off

your blue socks

as i

put on my red ones,

sigh

as i delight,

stub out

as i spark up,

stare at the stars

Similarities

Early in the morning today my grandson inquires a strange thing over the telephone,
'Good morning grandpa, could you please tell me four similar words that related to the meaning of decaying and this is my teacher's question.'
'Good morning Sonny! Take a pencil stub and write down dear,
Rats, Termites, Parasites and Relatives.
Take care and be a good boy! '

Provisions

What should we have taken
with us? We never could decide
on that; or what to wear,
or at what time of
year we should make the journey

So here we are in thin
raincoats and rubber boots

On the disastrous ice, the wind rising

Nothing in our pockets

But a pencil stub, two oranges
Four Toronto streetcar tickets

and an elastic band holding a bundle
of small white filing cards
printed with important facts.

To curse or not to curse

Obscenities are nothing new.
I have been known to use a few.
Sometimes “Dear Me” just will not do.
If painfully you stub your toe
it’s very hard to stop the flow
of all the rudest words you know
Although you practice self control
don’t use bad language on the whole.
Sometimes you slip and let it roll
But overused it lacks effect
it does not do as we expect.
It has become a speech defect.
I do my best to show restraint
but I admit I am no saint.

Coffeehouse bar stewardess

She blooms in the morning like a coffee flower.
I like that rare flavor and I peep there frequently.
I sit on a bar stool and wait for her to bring my elixir.
When I sip that with a straw I feel like getting more courage
To fight with the Devil's day.
I have been in one evening but she wasn't there and the following morning too.
I gossiped and verified that she already left the place for better prospects.
Since that gloomy day the coffee tasted me bitter like rusty life
And sometimes I drink without a straw.
I scribble on the table mat with a pencil stub.
Let the tricky life turns into a fairy tale to you!

Gone But Not Forgotten

Tub, rub, sub, dub, grub, club, blub;
I still have the pieces of you!
And like the host of relatives and friends.

Drip, trip, rip, drip, blip, flip, strip, grip!
In my room,
On my bed,
To put things together;
But, silence is the voice we love to hear with the tender of love.

Hub, cub, flub, nub, stub, pub, chub;
Ray, say! !
Yearns, year, years, earn, earns, era, eras, are;
Long, strong!
But, we will meet once again.

Ear, ears, near, nears, yes, sea, sear, an, as;
Just one day! !
In my life,
In your life,
