I could talk to you for hours
And I did
Today was your birthday
You were turning 14

I sang happy birthday to you
You told me I made you smile
Told me you liked me
I denied my affection for you
Thinking the butterflies in my stomach
We're nothing at all
But now my best friend
Likes you
And I do too
