The Way I Was
I always disliked the fact
That I was so needy
And destroyed any chance
For us to even be friends
I realized I was a burden
That only pulled you down
I'm so ashamed
That you saw me
At my weakest for so long
I resent that fact that
I made you think I needed you
And how I made everything worse
I won't ever meet anyone
Who will challenge me like you did
I was a broken doll
When you found me
But you patched me up
The best that you could do
But i'm still an Empty
Shell of a person
But at least
I'm back on my feet
For Petes sake
I promise you
That I really am
Trying to let go
Of all the anger
That held me back
I hope you forget
All about me
I don't want you
To remember me
As I was then
