Always Remembering
Feeling the mist of doubt
that rolls across our mind
as we enrol down lover’s lane
in the ever-growing queue
to play love’s game,
always remembering
the me and you.
Shadows filter from the moon
and dance upon the ground
pillaging our footsteps
left within the span of time.
There is no turning back
to retrace out steps.
We are committed to the game
whether sorrow or happiness it brings.
