Sonnet: Just Accept God
If God is trying to make pure my soul
Through troubles fresh that crop up every day,
Why should I not with grace accept His role,
And meet the challenges that come my way?
If God is planning new ways to heal
The wounds of soul that sins leave in their wake,
Why should I not accept my new ordeal,
And suffer humbly for my own/ God’s sakes?
If God is seeking to improve my ways,
Most mysteriously, tho’ I can’t say why,
Why should I not better my earthly days,
And listen to the words from One most high?
If God does things all strangely, I must try
To accept humbly and not ask Him why!
